Families experienced STEM in a whole new light as they participated in interactive, glow-themed activity stations. Hands-on stations included Glow Math Jenga, Glow Balloon Art by district teacher Danielle Weimer, and Success After 6 Champion-Hannah Weimer, Glow Math Bowling, additional math literacy stations and an art station. Every station aimed to incorporate math literacy in a fun and engaging way. At the Glow Gear Stations, students “glowed out” with glow-in-the-dark tattoos, jewelry, glow sticks, glow yo-yos, and creative glow face art, which added excitement to the evening.
“Each year we try to change up the activities and stations, keeping it new and engaging for our students and their families,” said Jill Dennis, Family Engagement Coordinator for Sebring Local Schools and Success After 6 Coordinator. “This continues to be one of our most popular events, with 260 in attendance, and we couldn’t do it without our partners at Success After 6 and our P.I.E. (Partners in Education) group.” Families also had the opportunity to support the B.L. Miller P.I.E. group, which provided a concession stand during the event.
