Negley man faces manslaughter charge in toddler's death

LISBON — A 20-year-old Negley man is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and endangering children that date back to December 2024 for allegedly causing the death of a 2-year-old child. Seth T. Hildebrand, Southern Street, was served Saturday in Negley with the secret indictment issued last week by the Columbiana County Grand Jury. The involuntary manslaughter is a first-degree felony while the endangering children charge is a third-degree felony. Leetonia school board approves administrative contracts

LEETONIA — The board of education approved new administrative contracts ahead of the upcoming 2026-2027 school year in its June 30 special meeting. The board approved a new three-year limited administrative contract for Timothy Fairfield as 6-12 principal. The contract will begin with the 2026-2027 school year and has an annual salary of $97,784. Salem — A domestic in progress was reported in the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 11:50 p.m. Sunday. Officers could hear screaming inside the residence when they arrived, and a juvenile locked the door to prevent them from entering after they announced themselves. Leetonia Wrestling Boosters pig roast Leetonia Wrestling Boosters will hold their inaugural pig roast to benefit the Leetonia Youth Wrestling Club from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Leetonia Sportsmen’s Club.
