Sheriff’s Office — A deputy returned a call at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday to an out-of-state person regarding a trespass complaint involving a property on Walnut Street, Rogers. The person said they live out of state, but someone may have moved into a property they had for sale that’s in unliveable condition. Salem council approves 2027 tax budget

SALEM — City council approved the proposed 2027 city tax budget in its meeting Tuesday. City Auditor Sal Salvino and City Councilman Jim Harrington both stressed that the annual tax budget was “more of a compliance document than a planning document,” and that the projections therein lean toward a worst-case scenario by design. SALEM — The Salem school board approved a revised five-year forecast in a June 29 special meeting. Typically, Ohio school districts present and approve a five-year forecast twice each year.
