Columbiana schools give updates on improvements

COLUMBIANA — Upgrades are ongoing for the Columbiana School District. In addition to the improvements at the Ward Athletic Complex, the district is also continuing to update heating and air conditioning units and is looking into a roofing project. District Superintendent Dr. Don Mook briefed the board on the HVAC and roofing projects this month, after first providing a brief update on the athletic improvements. Commissioners approve property tax relief

LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners agreed Wednesday to give taxpayers who own and occupy their homes a break of 2.5 % on next year’s property tax bill. That’s on top of what state legislators recently approved to increase the owner occupancy credit. “It may not be a lot of relief, but it’s some relief,” Commissioner Tim Ginter said.
