Driver accused of killing a pedestrian to face jury trial Jan. 26

LISBON — The driver accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene in East Liverpool on Feb. 4 won’t face a jury trial until 9 a.m. Jan. 26 next year. Tracy C. Board of trustees approve adjustments for street lighting

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP — The board of trustees approved adjustments to the township’s special assessment for street lighting in its meeting Tuesday. The trustees unanimously approved a 4% increase in the township’s special assessment for electricity for 2027. The trustees and Fiscal Officer Michele Barratt said that the increase was being made to keep up with ongoing inflation. Cutrona’s proposed bill to ensure Flock cameras data is used properly

With the use of Flock Safety automated license plate reader cameras coming under scrutiny, state Sen. Al Cutrona said he plans to introduce legislation to ensure information they collect is used appropriately. Cutrona, R-Canfield, said: “Ensuring that the rights and privacy of citizens is upheld is the default standard in a government that is of, by and for the people.
