CC Department of Job and Family Services releases annual report

LISBON — The Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services released its 2025 annual report this week, sharing the stats that demonstrate the services provided in areas that include adult and child protective services, public assistance, senior services, and child support enforcement. Child support enforcement managed 7,297 cases in 2025, with 74.94 % of all current child support cases meeting their monthly obligation. Salem — A suspicious vehicle was located in the 100 block of Continental Drive with its parking lights on and parked in line with other vehicles for sale at 2:23 a.m. Thursday. When the vehicle was illuminated with overhead lights, it pulled out of the lot and fled from officers. GOSHEN TOWNNSHIP — Goshen Townshp trustees approved a new mutual aid contract for the police department in its meeting Tuesday. The trustees unanimously approved a mutual aid contract between the Goshen Police District and the Perry Township Police Department. Goshen Police Chief John Calko said the township already has mutual aid contracts with the Salem Police Department and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, but one had never been formed with Perry Township. Salem council reduces outstanding zoning fees for landlord who purchased nuisance property

SALEM — City council voted to reduce outstanding zoning fees for a city property in its Aug. 4 meeting. Mayor Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey told council that a landlord with multiple properties within the city had purchased a property whose prior owners had not kept the property to code, accruing approximately $3,600 in fees prior to the purchase unbeknownst to the new owner.
