SHERIFF’S OFFICE

– Leigh Laney from the Sunoco gas station on Westville Lake Road, Beloit, reported one of his clerks was the victim of a quick-change scam, resulting in the net loss of $150. A customer walked into the store about 8 p.m. Friday and purchased a $1 item and paid with a $50 bill. The customer then said he meant to pay for the item with a $5 bill and gave the money back. Then he asked to exchange some more money, and by the time the customer was done he walked out of the gas station $150 ahead.

– Paul Kaufman, Butler Grange Road, Salem, reported Aug. 23 that a relative, Keith Thomas, broke into the home and began to destroy property. Thomas also lives there, and Kaufman was told he will need to go through a formal eviction process to legally get rid of him.

– Kevin May, state Route 172, Hanoverton, reported his neighbor told him that while May was in Florida someone in a white flatbed truck has been pulling into his driveway and backing out.

– Regina Cooper, Grant Street, Lisbon, reported Friday her neighbor has been coming in her yard yelling “explicit words and hand gestures.” Cooper said she and the neighbor were both charged with assault in July and the judge ordered them to stay away from each other. There is no protection order in place, however, and the deputy told Cooper she needed to explain what is going on to the judge.

– Ashley Jackson, Danbury Avenue, Wellsville, reported Saturday going to pick up her 6-year-old son at his father’s home on Crews Road in Madison Township when the father allegedly made a throat-slashing gesture and threatened to kill her. A deputy called Robert Vincent and he said Jackson showed up early as he was preparing to take his son to lunch and kept honking the horn. Jackson told her she was early and that she needed to leave, which she finally did.

– Michael Martin, Mahoning Avenue, Alliance, reported at 7:11 p.m. Thursday he was threatened by someone by phone and believes he knows the person who called.

– Nicole Boggs, Depot Road, Salem, reported at 7:54 a.m. Thursday she found an advertisement on Craig’s List for a husky puppy in the Cleveland area. But when she called the woman she said she was actually in Cameroon working and was trying to get the puppy back into the U.S. She agreed to pay $150 for the puppy and the other woman was to pay the transportation and all related costs. Boggs sent the funds Western Union to an address in Cameroon on Wednesday then received an email requesting another $675.

– Rachael Zelasko, state Route 45, West Point, reported at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday there was an intoxicated man in the parking lot of the Glasgow Carryout. Michael Thomas, state Route 45, Wellsville, was found on a motorcycle slumped over. He appeared intoxicated and was allowed to call for a ride.

– Chelsea Miller, Elkton Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:10 p.m. Monday a woman from out of state emailed her about obtaining some Avon products for a wedding for $162. Miller received a check from Landmark Credit Union for $1,990 with instructions to cash it and send the balance of the money to wedding planner Joshua Board. Miller learned a week later the check bounced and she is now $2,025 in the negative in her bank account.

– Rita Welce, Columbiana-Lisbon Road, Columbiana, reported at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday she evicted renters and they left the place a mess. She found holes in the walls, the kitchen floor torn up, drawers missing from the hutch and pet feces on the living room carpet. Additionally, the window was damaged where an air conditioner was removed. Deputies explained she will need to file action against the renters in small claims court.

– Tamara Davis, Cherry Valley Drive, Leetonia, reported at 10:15 a.m. Monday her estranged husband, whom she has a protection order against, texted her asking her to take his mail to him at his office in Leetonia.

– Tom Geer, state Route 7, New Waterford, reported at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday he broke up with his girlfriend, Brianne Trump, who is now having her friends call and threaten him.

– James Clark, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported his grandson, who recently got out of juvenile detention and is now living with him, was missing at 7:10 p.m. Thursday. Deputies found the 15-year-old in the woods near the home and warned him about keeping his grandfather informed about where he was.

– A Miller Road, Lisbon, man reported at 8:38 p.m. Thursday his 15-year-old daughter received a call from a man who made sexual comments toward her. It is believed the number is a pay as you go cell phone.

– Deputies were alerted to a disabled vehicle on Union Ridge near Carmel Achor at 6:13 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle, which was parked just off the roadway, was found not to be stolen. It is registered to Elizabeth Dillon, Pancake-Clarkson Road, but dispatchers were unable to find a number for her.

– Amy Trombetto, Cusick Road, Lisbon, reported a prowler at 8:27 p.m. Monday. Trombetto said she heard her dogs going crazy like something was outside the night before, but thought it was probably animals in the yard. On Monday, she was cutting grass and found a larger glove laying on the ground outside her bedroom window.

– Joe and Ben Marrucci, Hazel Run Road, Hammondsville, reported at 4:10 p.m. Monday someone broke into a hunting cabin garage taking numerous tools, a Husky air compressor, a deer feeder and a game camera.

– JoAnn Smith, Murray Road, Hanoverton, reported at 10:18 a.m. Monday one of her sons had a friend stay over one night and now the teenage boy keeps returning, even after he has been told to leave. One night he returned after her son was in bed and was found sleeping in another son’s bedroom in the morning.

– Greg Wools, Tower Road, Salem, reported at 6:15 p.m. Monday someone broke into his car and truck and took CDs, his wallet and his new shoes. An old pair of shoes, probably belonging to the thief, was left behind on the lawn.

– James Clark, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 9:12 p.m. Monday his 15-year-old grandson, for whom he has custody, ran away that evening and it was not the first time he has done so.

– Ashley Davis, West Martin Street, East Palestine, reported at 7:37 p.m. Monday her live-in boyfriend jumped on the hood of her car, ripped off her windshield wiper and climbed on top of her vehicle while she was in front of a Riggs Road address in Unity Township. She asked deputies advice about how to end the relationship.

– Christian Smith, Wisner Road, Lisbon, reported at 9:56 p.m. Monday she had found someone had broken into her home sometime before 8:40 p.m. when she returned. Some of her clothes were thrown out onto the deck in front of her door, and someone had rummaged through her underwear drawer taking money, her son’s golden dollars, some medications from the medicine cabinet, some school supplies and school clothes.

A deputy was called to 24786 West School St. for a domestic violence report at 1:53 p.m. Sunday. Michael Dunlap and his wife Brittany Dunlap told the deputy they were arguing and there was no other problem. They did not wish to press charges against one another.

– A deputy was called to 30791 Winona Road for a theft report at noon Sunday. Marion Zeppernik, Winona Road, Salem, said he was out of town from Aug. 16 through Aug. 20 and when he returned to the property he noticed several pieces of scrap metal and other materials were missing.

– Kim Lewis, Lake Point Drive, Beloit, reported at 2:23 a.m. Sunday, her husband James Lewis came home drunk and began arguing with her. He then became upset and jumped into the lake, hitting some rocks and causing a gash on his head. The husband, whom deputies found to be extremely intoxicated, told the same story. He agreed to go inside because he had been sleeping in a tent.

– Nikki Jones, an employee at Dollar General in Rogers, reported at 4:10 p.m. Thursday there was a person slumped over the steering wheel in a vehicle. New Waterford EMS came to check the person, who was at that point awake and responding. Lawrence Keats, Scotts Mill Road, was found a ride home.

– Roger McDaniel, Lisbon-Canfield Road, Leetonia, reported suspicious activity at 12:57 p.m. Friday. Deputies checked the area, but found no one.

– Mike Tudor, no address listed, reported his 11-year-old granddaughter, of whom he has custody, left her father’s home without permission and went to a woman’s home. The woman, Alyssa Nixon, told deputies the girl texted her and asked her to pick her up, but she had already dropped her off again at her father’s home.

– Patricia Craven, Front Street, Negley, reported at 11:55 p.m. Friday, her 16-year-old son was involved in a fight with his 13-year-old brother about three weeks ago and she had allowed him to stay with a friend in hopes it would do them some good. She signed a paper allowing the boy to stay with David Mellinger and his family. Mellinger reportedly attempted to register the boy at Beaver Local Schools, but the unnotorized paper was not enough. Craven decided it was time for the boy to come home and he at first refused. St. Clair Township police had to retrieve him from a friend’s home. Craven called back on Saturday to report the boy was home and causing problems. Deputies told the boy to cease his actions. The boy then attempted to call Mellinger to come get him. When his mother heard about it she again contacted deputies, who again warned the boy to cease his behavior. Mellinger spoke to deputies told deputies the boy does not want to be there and deputies should remove him from the home. Deputies urged Mellinger to stop interfering in the family’s problems.

– Loretta Ease, Francis Drive, Wellsville, reported at 12:22 a.m. Sunday someone was setting off fireworks in the area of Hillcrest and Crawford Road. Deputies spoke to several eyewitnesses, but the exact location of the fireworks could not be found.

– Melissa Frederick, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, reported at 3:28 p.m. Saturday she allowed her children to be with their father, Jared Butts, but when it was time for them to come home, he told her the children did not want to come home. Deputies spoke to the father, who reiterated the children do not want to go home and he believes there is abuse in the house. He also told deputies he has called Children Services and they were coming to his home on Monday. Deputies told Butts to give the children to their mother who has custody or he could face charges of interference with custody. He agreed Frederick could go to his house and get the children.

– Kiersten Lattanzio, Poland, reported at 12:10 a.m. Saturday there was a possible prowler at a Beeson Mill Road, Leetonia, address. Deputies checked the home, but could not find anyone there.

– Andrew Ice, Park Avenue, East Liverpool, reported an abandoned vehicle near excavating equipment in a field in the area of Lusk Lock and Middle Beaver Road at 1:10 a.m. Saturday. Deputies checked the area and found the vehicle on private property within a fenced field near several excavators. It did not appear the vehicle was involved in any crime.

– Carrie Forney, Lodge Road, Leetonia, reported two vehicles and people being loud behind the Salem Mennonite Church at 2:01 a.m. Saturday. Deputies did not find any vehicles there when they arrived.

– Deputies went to Sprucevale Road near the Y-Inn at 3:41 a.m. Saturday after being told someone needed to be removed. Tammy Waters, a resident at the home, said she was asleep when she heard a noise and found one of the front windows shattered by a rock. She went outside and heard someone running down the gravel driveway. She called her husband, Steve Waters, who was at the dirt drag track down the road and he believed he may know who did it. The matter is under investigation.

-Lucky Miller, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, reported at 8:34 p.m. Friday he has been out of the area working and came home to find his trailer window open with his new TV missing.

– James Marks, Carlene Lane, Lisbon, reported an abandoned vehicle along the roadway at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday. It was found to belong to the neighbor across the street, but deputies could not reach anyone there.

– Kenneth Kleinknecht, Lisbon Road, Leetonia, reported at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday his sister slapped him twice while they were at their mother’s home, but he did not want to pursue charges.

– Glenn Warner, Teegarden Road, Hanoverton, reported at 9:15 p.m. Sunday he has a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer from JD Bye Rider and is about a day or so late on the payment. The vehicle was at his mother’s home and at about 9 p.m. he found it was missing. Deputies told Warner to check with JD Bye Rider on Monday to see if it was repossessed and if it was stolen go see deputies to fill out a stolen vehicle form.

– Gary Shaw, Hatcher Road, New Waterford, reported at noon Sunday there was a suspicious vehicle parked sideways in the parking lot of the East Fairfield Methodist Church and requested a deputy check to see if it was reported stolen. A deputy was able to contact the vehicle owner and it was determined the vehicle could remain there until the owner retrieved it.

– A deputy received a wallet and a set of keys from Chris Adams that he found at the portajohns at the Rogers Sale. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the wallet and keys belong to Olivia Christine, but deputies could not locate a contact phone number. The wallet and keys are in safe keeping at the Sheriff’s office.

– Dallas Puckett, state Route 73, New Vienna, reported two lost checkbooks at the Rogers Sale. Puckett stated he had lost the checkbooks at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday and that he spoke with Tim Hollis who has a stand near where the checkbooks were lost. Hollis stated that two workers at a lemonade stand told him they found two checkbooks and he advised them to turn them into the main office. Though one of them stated he had turned the checkbooks into the main office, a deputy who spoke with Heather Hostetter at the market office was told that no checkbooks had been turned in.

– Glenn Whiteleather, West Township, Minerva, reported suspicious activity of a fire on Bayard Road. Deputies who checked the woods behind a trailer found a burn pit, but nothing had been burnt.

– Jack Nalley, Union Ridge Road, Rogers, reported Saturday that sometime between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. while he was at the Rogers Sale it appeared that someone struck the rear bumper of his vehicle and also scratched the length of the driver’s side.

– Cathy Roessler, Camp Boulevard, Hanoverton, reported Saturday a vehicle in the ditch in front of her residence. The responding deputy discovered the vehicle belonged to Christian Cechura, Bethesda Road, Hanoverton and made contact with Cechura who stated he was backing down the driveway and misjudged the turn. Roessler stated there was no damage to her property and a tow truck was able to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.

– John Cox, St. George Street, East Liverpool, reported Saturday that a bicycle struck his vehicle while he was parked in the West Point Elementary School parking lot causing damage to the driver’s side front fender. The juvenile bike rider left before his identity could be discovered.

– Brittany Murgenvich, 20th Street, Aliquippa, Pa., reported Saturday a man in a vehicle slumped over the steering wheel in the middle of McIntosh Road in Yellow Creek Township. Murgenvich reported that the vehicle had left prior to deputies’ arrival. The vehicle registration was to Danny Cataldo Jr., Mick Road, Wellsville. The deputy made contact at that address with the father, Danny Cataldo Sr., who stated his son did not live there, but he could be contacted by cell phone. The deputy spoke with the younger Cataldo who stated he had been sick to his stomach while in his vehicle but had recovered and drove back to Rogers.

– Pam Cooper, Stump Road, Minerva, reported Thursday that a suspicious person was going door-to-door in the neighborhood talking about religion. The person could not be located.

– Darwin Underwood, Madison Drive, East Liverpool, reported Thursday that a Stihl FS 80 weed trimmer was stolen from a garage at Madison Trinity Church. Underwood stated he would call back with insurance information along with a more detailed product description.

– Johnathon Cline, 30, East Sandyvale Drive, Minerva, was southbound on Lippincott Road in West Township Thursday when he became tangled in power line which caused damage to the right side of his vehicle, but it was driveable. It appeared that the power lines had fallen due to a tree on the property of Daniel Kincaid, Lippincott Road, falling down. As it was not apparent that either the Kincaids or Cline were at fault, there were no citations isssued. Photographs of the damage were taken, and Ohio Edison was on the scene.

– Deputies were asked to check a home on Crews Road at 1:56 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies found Cody Reckner, who claimed there were no children in the home and refused to allow deputies to check the home.

– Shirley Kelly, Maple Drive, Columbiana, reported at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday her husband is acting strangly. Deputies had Columbiana EMS check on the man, who refused to be taken to the hospital.

– Don Crowl, Crosser Road, Lisbon, reported at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday Jordan Johnson was driving down the road, turned around in the roadway and was pointing to things in front of Crowl’s home. Johnson needs to be 100 feet away according to a protection order. Deputies determined it did not appear to be a violation because Johnson was on a public road.

– Janet Beiling, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday a neighbor child was throwing rocks at other children. Before deputies arrived, the child’s mother Melony Copen and Beiling exchanged words and the stress led to Beiling being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

-Candice Castle, Bayard Road, Minerva, reported at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday she was riding her bicycle and a large, silver truck blew smoke on her from the smoke stacks. She is unaware of who the vehicle’s driver was, but felt she may be being harassed.

– Robert Board, Stephen Drive, Minerva, reported at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday his past daughter-in-law, Felicia Board has been calling him and harassing him. Deputies attempted to call the woman, but were at first unsuccessful. She then called the sheriff, intoxicated and claiming her former father-in-law was harassing her.

-Karen Camp, McCracken Road, Salem, reported at 11:26 p.m. Tuesday there was a vehicle in the driveway of the Animal Safe Farm. Deputies found Keith House, who said his vehicle overheated and he was just waiting for help.

– Tasha Patterson, Fink Road, Kensington, reported at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday she received a phone call from a woman earlier in the day, who said she has questions about an account and wanted to meet at Patterson’s old address. She became suspicious and hung up. Deputies called the number the woman called from and spoke with someone named Matthew at Global Conferencing Center. He claimed the number they were calling was not one of theirs.

– Jessica Baughman, Neeld Road, East Palestine, reported at 4:44 p.m., Monday she went to the property she just purchased to serve a three-day eviction notice and two people there, Steven Byers and Octavia Coppock, began yelling at her. Deputies explained the eviction process to Byers and Coppock.

– Matthew Benner, Columbiana Lisbon Road, Columbiana, reported at 4:11 p.m. Monday he arrived home and found the front window broken from his home along with two screens popped off the windows. The closet doors were open in his bedroom, but nothing was found to be missing.

– Tammy Mason, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, reported an assault at 3:30 a.m. Monday. Matthew Crowl told deputies a friend, Bill Frampton, had been living with him for a while, but that night they got into an argument and Frampton pushed Crowl and put his hands around his neck. Crowl did not want to press charges, but asked deputies to warn Frampton he cannot push Crowl around. Deputies told Frampton the message and suggested he may have worn out his welcome there.

– Michael Bowen, East Main Street, Salineville, reported at 2:29 a.m. Tuesday he wanted David Crowe III removed. Crowe was intoxicated and deputies told him he needed to get a ride home or find somewhere else to stay. Niki Bowen then agreed to allow Crowe to stay after he pleaded with her. However, when deputies were leaving they saw Crowe in the driver’s seat of a pickup attempting to back out of the yard and then pulling immediately back in. Crowe was charged with disorderly conduct.

– A suspicious vehicle and people were reported at the Southern Local Bus Garage at 11:12 p.m. Sunday. Deputies found one vehicle, which was empty with no one around.

– Paul Bartholomew, state Route 164, Lisbon, asked deputies at 7:57 p.m. Monday what to do at a Woodville Road home in Fairfield Township, where a piece of property was willed to him, but there are other people living on it. Deputies explained how to begin eviction proceedings.

– Tracy Klein, Bell Road, Lisbon, asked deputies to check on her daughter, Sarah Klein, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, and her 17-month-old son at 8:17 p.m. Monday. There appeared to be no problems.

– Dishelle Carchides of the Butler Mobile Home Park on U.S. Route 62, Butler Township, reported July 24 her home was broken into and her neighbors saw Carchides’ two female cousins – ages 11 and 12 – enter the residence. Carchides said she only wanted the stolen money and other items returned. A deputy spoke to the girls in front of their parents and they swore they returned everything but a $2 bill, which could not be found. They were told to come up with the money or they could be charged.

– Kathy Pfaff, Mountz Road, East Rochester, reported there was a suspicious vehicle in the area at 2 a.m. Friday. A deputy found Kimberly Pincombe with a van that needed a jump start, which the deputy provided.

– Sharon Morrison, Cleveland Street, Salem, struck an animal, damaging her vehicle, while driving on U.S. 62 in Butler Township at 10:48 p.m. Thursday.

– Katherine Crowell, state Route 172, East Rochester, reported Thursday getting a call from a man who identified himself as an attorney with the same name as a local attorney, and he told Crowell she needed to pay a $682 debt to avoid being charged by the district attorney and arrested. The caller put Crowell in contact with someone else, and she ended up sending a moneygram for half the amount after determining there was a local attorney by the same name. The local attorney contacted the sheriff’s office and told them he had nothing to do with any of the calls placed to Crowell.

– Robert Reynolds, U.S. Route 62, Salem, reported Thursday the man who runs Infinite Auto next door swore in front of his son while telling him to have a Jeremiah Javens return a car. Reynolds said the man also comes onto his property to complain about his animals and children. A deputy will attempt to speak to the owner.

– Yellow Creek Township Trustee Kenny Biacco reported a township backhoe that had been repaired was no longer running the next day, and they discovered there was water and salt in the fuel tank.

– Angel Robinson, Miller Road, Leetonia, reported Thursday a man named Charles showed up looking for his daughter, who had run away the night before. She said Charles was drunk, rude and threatened her husband.

– A loud music complaint at 44240 state Route 154, Elkrun Township, was received at 7:27 p.m. Saturday, and the group agreed to turn down the volume.

– Ruth Streng, state Route 558, New Waterford, said her neighbor reported Saturday finding her mail crumpled up in the ditch.

– Tammy Hively, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, reported at 1:16 a.m. Sunday that Jeff Gorby Jr. was causing problems, but he left before the deputies arrived.

– Deputies responded to a medical emergency on Yeager Drive in Madison Township at 10:25 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses said Russell Lightner passed out after leaving the bathroom, and the deputies remained until an ambulance transported Lightner to a local hospital.

– Clayton A. Shuman, 47, Rochester Road, East Rochester, was charged with theft and criminal damaging following a confrontation with Tracy Cook, the mother of his children, at his home at 6:40 p.m. Sunday. Cook, who is from Minerva, was there to get her children following visitation when Shuman took her phone and threw it his swimming pool. The phone belongs to Cook’s employer.

– Courtney Buzzard, Pancake-Clarkson Road, Negley, wanted to square things on Friday with Don Snedeker in Negley, who had her 2002 Suzuki XL7 for the past 15 months and it is still not fixed. Buzzard said she called Snedeker on Friday afternoon to pay him the $425 she owes him, but he reportedly told her he was done for the day. A deputy called Snedeker and made arrangements for to meet him and Buzzard at his garage to complete the transaction.

– Cindy Masters, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 5:22 p.m. Sunday her son and daughter were arguing when he shoved his sister, who bounced off Masters before falling to the ground. All parties declined to file charges.

– Charles Ruble reported his home at the Cherry Valley Campground in Salem Township was broken into between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday. Missing were two Lions Club swords and a World War I trench knife.

– Deputies were called to the Country Squire Mobile Home Park, Kevin Drive, Knox Township, at 10 p.m. Sunday, where they found Mark Rissel with a fire behind his trailer. He was told it was against the law to set off fireworks.

– Responding Friday night to the home of Tracy Wright, state Route 170, Negley to remove Michael Welsh, deputies found he had an active warrant out of Mahoning County and took him into custody. After Wright signed a consent to search, deputies reported finding a marijuana pipe and a bag of marijuana Welsh reportedly claimed. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and handed over to Mahoning County.

– Deputies responded Friday night to Hibbetts Mill Road in Madison Township for a report of vehicles blocking the highway. They spoke with the property owner who was having a party and advised that the vehicles had to be moved, or they would be towed. Once all the vehicles were moved, deputies cleared the scene.

– Michelle Argabrite, Oak Grove Road, Wellsville, reported Friday she and her mother had purchased trailers from Beaver Local School District and were in the process of moving them from the West Point Elementary property. Her mother had arrived at the property Friday and found two elementary-aged boys dragging a box containing a computer through the parking lot. Her husband told them to stay out of the school due to the ongoing asbestos abatement process, and they left without the box and computer. Deputies reported the boys had cut some plastic lining off the doors and also entered a closet, emptying cleaner on the ground. Trash from receptacles near the ballfield was thrown all over the area, and Susan Bailey advised spray adhesive had been sprayed along the door of the trailer she purchased.

– Deputies responded to a complaint Friday about dogs on Glasgow Road barking incessantly. They advised the complainant, Susan Landess, they would try to check the area.

-Marian Rowedda, state Route 62, Salem, reported Friday a juvenile in the trailer park was threatening her son. She was advised to notify the the parents.

-Ruth Vest, Spillway Road, Lisbon, reported Clint Cain keeps driving by her house, wanting to see his daughter, but she does not want him to see her. A deputy contacted Cain and told him to stay away from the Vest residence. Cain advised he was near the residence for work and had some down time so thought he could stop to visit his daughter. He agreed not to go back without court papers.

– Rosalyn Miller, Wooddale Road, Lisbon, reported Friday a neighbor disconnected a power cord from her home which was supplying power to a house on Orchard Knoll. The neighbor advised that the person at Orchard Knoll had power disconnected in April by the electric company. Miller told deputies the neighbors have seen the power cord across the road for several weeks before deciding to disconnect it and said it is used by the Miller family as a temporary residence but they are not there often. Miller requested extra watch on the property.

– Frank Lasorella, Center Avenue, Lisbon, reported he was at the Rogers Sale Aug. 11 when his trailer was stolen from the back of his truck. They were parked in the lot on state Route 154.

– Sheila McClish, Old Route 558, Leetonia, reported Friday someone was putting litter in her trailer by opening a bedroom window and throwing it inside. She did not state anyone has been inside the home.

– Deputies were dispatched Saturday afternoon to Teegarden Road near Guilford Lake for report of a large fight and spoke with several people who said they were involved in a family fight. Information was forwarded to the prosecutor for possible charges.

– Catherine Miller, Carmel-Achor Road, Negley, reported her 17-year-old daughter had left the residence and gone to Pennsylvania. She knew who she was with, so no missing person’s report was filed. With the assistance of Meadville Police and Pennsylvania State Police, the juvenile was taken to a Spartanburg, Pa. residence as requested by her mother. According to reports, the girl wanted to leave the Amish community and “go English,” which is why she left home.

– Ronald Welther, state Route 14, East Palestine, was charged with domestic violence after his girlfriend, Brandy Hall, alleged he shoved a chair at her and grabbed a phone from her hand as she tried to call the sheriff’s office. This reportedly occurred on Wednesday.

– Lisa Jenkins, Steubenville Pike, Hammondsville, reported Tuesday she has security camera video of some man walking back and forth on her side of the property line and she wanted a record of it for court purposes.

-Jim Frost of Rebel Motors Towing, state Route 7, New Waterford, reported Tuesday he was in the process of repossessing a vehicle from a home on Wells Hollow Road in Yellow Creek Township when a Mr. Dowling came home and threatened to shoot him. The man ordered Frost to leave, which he did.

– Frank Lasorella, Center Avenue, Lisbon, reported Tuesday a trailer was stolen from the back of his truck while the vehicle was parked in the overflow lot at the Rogers Community Sale.

– Jessica Wolfe, Woodsdale Road, Salem, reported Tuesday finding five unauthorized charges in her bank account totaling $155.

– A resident of U.S. Route 62, Knox Township, reported at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday her 13-year-old daughter had run away and threatened to harm herself after being disciplined for smoking. The girl was found in the backyard and admitted she was serious about harming herself, so the deputy had her taken to an area hospital to be evaluated.

– A deputy was serving an eviction notice at a home on Fairfield School Road in Fairfield Township at 12:43 p.m. Tuesday when he ended up arresting Mary C. Slider, 30, for disorderly conduct after she refused to quit using “coarse and gross language” toward Mary Cerezo. Slider was also charged with obstructing police business for failing to comply with an eviction order to be out by Aug. 8.

– Annette Ice, 30, Echo Dell Road, St. Clair Township, reported July 26 she was at the Y Inn in Rogers when Kristen Presley, 21, of East Palestine, began yelling and threatening to assault her, which is when Presley was asked to leave. She said a witness in the parking lot saw Presley kick her vehicle.

– William Smith, South Mahoning Avenue, Knox Township, called for a deputy at 11 p.m. Saturday. Smith and his daughter, Lori Smith, reported they had returned from a wedding where her boyfriend had too much to drink, and now the boyfriend, identified as Brian Ceresna, 40, was acting up and causing problems with her teenage son and his friends. They just wanted Ceresna to go to bed or leave, and he agreed to go to bed. Shortly after deputies left they were called back to the residence in regard to Ceresna setting a fire to his daughter’s ATV and then leaving on foot.

– Dave Matthews, Crestview Road, Columbiana, reported at 3:34 a.m. Tuesday being awakened by his girlfriend, Kristina Talbert, and the two began arguing. At some point Talbert reportedly slapped Matthews, knocking his food to the floor and tearing the air conditioner unit from the window. She was gone by the time deputies arrived, and Matthews was told to come to the office to fill out a report after he sobers up.

– Deputies were called to the Westville Lake Campground, Case Road, Knox Township just before midnight Monday, where they found a lawn chair and portable toilet on fire in the middle of a gravel road. Campground owner Mike Runzo said the old office, which is soon to be demolished, was broken into and some minor items were missing. While there, the deputy chased off two young men who were fishing where they should not have been.

– Amy Hull, East Grant Street, East Palestine, reported Monday her son and daughter went to their father’s home on Jackman Road in Unity Township and he got into an argument with his daughter and stated he would fight her. The siblings got into the car to leave and as they looked back they could see their father had a handgun in the waist of his pants.

– Heather Everhart, state Route 164, Salineville, reported she attended the county fair on Sunday with her mother-in-law and children, and her mother-in-law parked her van behind county municipal court while they were there. On Monday, Everhart discovered her wallet and prescription medication vicodin were stolen from her purse, which had been left in the van. Everhart said the van’s back door does not lock, and she believes the items were stolen while they were at the fair.

– Erin Nezbeth, Hartley Road, Beloit, called for a deputy at 2 a.m. Sunday because she had some friends over and they would not leave. They left after hearing Nezbeth call the sheriff’s office.

– Charles Morkel, Rochester Road, East Rochester, reported at 6 a.m. Monday the garage door was open at the home of his neighbor, Jane Miller. A deputy checked with Miller, who said she must have left the door open and everything was fine.

– Tiffany Nixon, Middle Street, Homeworth, reported at 1:21 a.m. Monday she peeled back a morphine patch from the chest of her boyfriend, Bradley Drake, who “fake punched” her in the face, striking her. Nixon wanted to file charges but there were no marks on her. Drake, on the other hand, had scratches on his abdomen from where he said Nixon had flipped out on him. Drake said he would pursue charges if Nixon did likewise, but both decided not to.

– A deputy checked on a loud party complaint in the 4000 section of Fairfield School Road in Fairfield Township at 12:10 a.m. Monday but none could be located.

– A caller reported there was a woman walking on Lakeview Road near Guilford Lake and trying to wave people down at 3:15 a.m. Sunday. The woman was identified as Norma Flaneri, whose car had broken down. She was given a ride to her home on Riverview.

– Robert Wilson, Lakeside Drive, Beloit, reported at 1:42 a.m. Sunday being struck in the face several times by his girlfriend, Amber McCombs, and he had to wrestle her to the ground to get her to stop. Wilson said when he let her up she struck him again. McCombs refused to open the door to speak with a deputy, but the deputy made it inside after Wilson forced his way in through the back door. McCombs, 39, was then placed under arrest for domestic violence.

– Michael Stutzcacage of Aristice, Ohio, called for a deputy to come to the Lock 30 Campground on Middle Beaver Road in Elkrun Township at 7:45 p.m. Saturday. Stutzcacage said his family was camping there with the family of Shawn Messer of Ray, Ohio, who had recently gotten fired from his job. Stutzcacage said he took Messer’s place as foreman, and that created some tension. Stutzcacage said he was also tired of being in the middle of Messer’s marital situation and said something about Messer’s alleged infidelities. Stutzcacage said Messer responded by cutting his RV’s tires and he confronted him, and Messer attacked him. A fight ensued but Stutzcacage said he quit after Messer’s wife asked to him to, and Messer left before the deputies arrived.

– Cindy Masters, Buck Road, Beloit, reported Saturday her 12-year-old daughter was out of control, and she was told to contact county juvenile court about filing unruly charges.

– Lisa Blake reported a 5-year-old girl was running down Carey Road in Butler Township without any shoes on at 1:09 p.m. Sunday and the girl told Blake that her daddy was hurting her mommy. Police located the frantic mother in her driveway, while the father was in his pickup looking for the child. The parents advised there was no domestic, and they learned the child was gone when their son said his sister had jumped out the window. The mother said she had put the child in her room for punishment for acting up during church. The daughter admitted to the deputy making up the story about her father.

– Cara Monaghan, 18th Street Heights, Wellsville, reported Friday being involved in a dispute with Margaret and Edward Davis in Lisbon over who has power of attorney over her mother, who is in a nursing home. She said the Davises were now sending her harassing text messages and phone calls. Monaghan was told to have no further contact with them, and the deputy called Mr. Davis and told him the same. Both were told this was a civil matter and to contact their attorneys.

– Rebecca Thompson reported a domestic dispute at a home on Lisbon-Canfield Road in Salem Township at 5:44 p.m. Sunday. A deputy arrived to find Thompson walking in the road, and she claimed Robert Mohr had kicked her in the face. She had dried blood on her face but no sign of injury. Mohr said he was sleeping when Thompson woke him up and told him to leave. While he was trying to get past Thompson she began kicking and punching him. At that point, Mohr’s roommate, Mark Menough, walked in and told them to quit fighting. Menough said he brought Thompson to the house but did not want her there if she was going to fight, so she was transported to her home in Salem. Mohr had a cut on his hand, which is where the deputy believes the blood on Thompson’s face came from.

– Sara Ruble, Lakefront Drive, Beloit, reported at 9:23 p.m. Sunday her 15-year-old son would not listen to her and left without telling her where he was going. The deputy contacted the son and told him to contact his mother, who called back to say everything was fine.

– Greg Hephner, Farrington Road, Leetonia, reported at 7:40 a.m. Sunday someone went through his 2006 Chevy Trailblazer overnight, but there was no damage and nothing appeared to be missing.

– Tod O’Donnell, Grafton Road, Leetonia, reported at 7:49 a.m. Sunday someone went through his 2015 Nissan Rogue and his 2005 Ford-150 pickup sometime overnight. The vehicles were not damaged, but the title was missing from the pickup.

– Someone reported a domestic situation and an injured woman at a U.S. 62 address at 1:35 p.m. Sunday. Alicia Wade told deputies her shirt and bra strap got stuck in the rear door jamb of the car, while her husband, Noah Wade, was pulling out of the driveway. She had some scratches on her feet and gravel in her foot. She told deputies they were not fighting before he left in the vehicle. She was taken to the Alliance City Hospital by Damascus EMS.

– Kathleen Vennum, Hazel Run Road, Hammondsville, reported at 7:25 p.m. Friday she believed someone in a green Ford Expedition was stealing scrap from the railroad crossing a few miles from her home. Deputies checked the area and found the vehicle back off Hazel Run Road. Steve McVay and Tasha McLuskey appeared to be removing scrap from an old washed out bridge, commonly known as the Rope Bridge. McVay told deputies he has permission to take it. The matter is under investigation.

– Christine Grace, Farr Street, Rogers, reported at 5:59 p.m. Friday she has been receiving threats from her sister, Dorothy Sanders. Deputies attempted to contact Sanders, but was unable to do so.

– Don Ketchum, McGeehan Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:17 p.m. Friday his two grandchildren were playing on property where they had permission to be when Shannon Kelly came out of her home and began yelling at them. Statements were taken and the matter will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor’s office for review.

– Richard Smith, Bye Road, East Palestine, reported at 8:20 p.m. Saturday someone on an ATV vandalized a mailbox. The person left before the deputy arrived. However while Smith and the deputy were talking, Shane Linden came walking up the road. Linden told them he just fixed a wheel bearing on his ATV and was testing it when he lost control causing him to hit the mailbox. Anthony Workman, the owner of the damaged mailbox, told them he did not want to pursue criminal charges.

– Michelle Simms, state Route 518, Lisbon, reported a suspicious vehicle in the area at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, but deputies did not locate it.

– Heather Carter, Heritage Drive, Beloit, reported at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday her neighbor appeared to be intoxicated and was yelling at Carter’s husband. The Carters told deputies the neighbor was cussing and yelling about something that happened a year ago with her pets. Deputies spoke with the neighbor, Vickie Greenfield, who appeared intoxicated and was talking in circles. She was warned against causing any further disturbances.

– Kelly Reed, Sunset Drive, Wellsville, reported at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday she had concerns about her 7-year-old son being disciplined by her ex’s girlfriend. The child reportedly has returned home with red finger marks on his hands.

– At 3:46 p.m. Wednesday, Dennis Coy, Consumers National Bank of Lisbon, asked deputies to check on a man, who lives on state Route 164 and reportedly did not sound right when they were speaking on the phone. Deputies contacted the man who was upset deputies were there and appeared to be fine.

– Susan Collins, no address listed, asked deputies to check on her grandchildren at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies spoke with the parents, Brittany DeMarco and Tim Campfer, and found the children to be fine and playing outside.

– Sandra Haught, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported at 5:38 p.m. Monday a repossession man was there attempting to take her car, a 2012 Nissan Murano. Next deputies were contacted by an attorney, who claimed the Haughts were in the process of a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and the vehicle cannot be repossessed due to that action. Deputies spoke to someone from the prosecutor’s office, who said if the repo company has the proper documentation, the repossession can proceed.

– Kevin Short, Desellem Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:24 p.m. Monday he is being harassed in his home by Crystal Thompson, who has not been his girlfriend for some time. However, Thompson still comes to the house to take care of his father. He feels Thompson is trying to get him in trouble.

– Carla McAmbridge, Longs Crossing, Salem, reported at 4:58 p.m. Monday someone broke the locks to her RV horse trailer, although nothing was missing. She believes whomever was responsible may have been looking for drugs.

– Timothy Leverknight, state Route 558, Leetonia, reported at 5:03 p.m. Monday sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. someone broke into his home. There were no signs of forced entry. Three TVs; 13 rings including a black onyx, a tiger’s eye and a blue star silver; a watch; three silver bracelets; and two containers of change were among items stolen from his home.

– Jennifer Flowers, state Route 7, Lisbon, reported at 5:41 a.m. Tuesday a woman would not leave her home. Deputies asked her to leave and she left. The husband allowed the other woman to be there.

– Chad Baumgarner, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 5:38 a.m. Tuesday there was suspicious activity in the Twin Oaks community. He was awakened by a loud banging outside his door, but he did not see anyone. Deputies did not find anything out of the ordinary.

– Sandra Rodrigues, Lisbon Road, reported at 3:45 p.m. Monday someone attempted to break into her home sometime between 2:15 and 3:15 p.m. She believed her two big dogs in the home may have scared them off. The back door latch was broken, but the door was still locked and nothing was taken.

– Lillian Blevins, Kirk Road, Columbiana, reported at 6:30 p.m. Monday there was a domestic dispute in the area. Sabrina Tate, Kirk Road, Columbiana, told deputies she took Conan Thompson home from working the night shift and he was sleeping in the car. He then became upset and argumentative when they arrived at his home. She believes he tried to hit her with her car while she was in the yard. He claimed he only parked her car in the yard. She declined to file charges and Thompson was told to stay away from her.

– Collin Houlette, state Route 154, Lisbon, reported at 9:19 a.m. Friday he has had a horse at the O’Hara Farm on Middle Beaver Road for seven months and he has been working there also. His employment just ended and the owner owes him $450. He also wants his horse, some tack and some tools he left there. Deputies spoke with Sherry O’Hara, who claims Houlette owes her $300 in pasture fees, has no tack at the farm and an air compressor in question has her parts in it. Deputies explained she cannot hold the horse ransom for the money and she agreed to give him a time to retrieve it from her property. The money can be recouped through small claims court.

– Tim French, state Route 172, Minerva, reported at 9:52 p.m. Sunday his ex-girlfriend was drinking and would not stop calling and texting on Saturday. He blocked her on Facebook and blocked her number. Since then he has received two photographs from another phone number, both of a sexual nature involving the two of them. Then between 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday he has received 24 calls and text messages. Deputies called Christina Shriver and told her to cease all communication with French. However, after that, French reported he is still receiving calls from the other number.

– Charity Norris, Butcher Road, Leetonia, reported at 9:28 a.m. Saturday someone entered her vehicle and took $770.

– Jodi Beer, Maple Heights, reported a domestic situation on Scroggs Road, Rogers, at 10:47 a.m. Saturday. Deputies spoke to both Amy Almy and Russell Carnes, both who said there was no problem.

– Regina Cooper, Grant Street, Lisbon, reported an assault at 7:09 p.m. Friday. Cooper, 45, who was intoxicated, told deputies she and her neighbor, Sara Eason, 22, got into a heated argument after Cooper accused Eason of not liking her due to her being a lesbian. According to Cooper’s account, Eason called her a derogatory name to which Cooper responded and it ended with Eason punching her in the face and the two rolling across the ground fighting. Other witnesses gave slightly different accounts. Deputies charged both Cooper and Eason with assault.

– Julie Groves, First Street, Hanoverton, reported at 5:48 p.m. Sunday she got into an argument with her ex-husband, Brian Groves, who still lives there and wanted certain bedroom activities in exchange for her rent. She reported he took her mattress and box springs out of the bedroom, claiming he was going to burn them because he learned she had a new boyfriend. He also reportedly grabbed her phone and threw it on the floor causing it to break. Brian Groves was charged with criminal trespassing.

– Candy Davis, Saltwell Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:41 p.m. Saturday someone was shooting. Deputies found Jerry Lyle safely shooting with his family.

– Ashley Heines, Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, reported her husband was not answering the phone at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Deputies found him and told him to call his wife.

– Patricia Cravens, North Front Street, Negley, reported at 6:51 p.m. Friday her 16-year-old son had been beating on her 13-year-old son nearly daily. The elder boy also reportedly unplugged the telephone cord, which could lead to his father losing his job. Additionally he has been telling his mother he will do what he wants. Deputies told the mother to go to juvenile court and file unruly charges.

– People were called to a home on Orange Street in Knox Township at 12:45 p.m. Sunday in regard to a 24-year-old man out of control. Police spoke with Linda Reed, who owns the house but is letting Andrew Reed stay there. Ms. Reed said Andrew became upset and started breaking things and tearing up the house after she told him she was going to let her nephew and his wife stay at the house until they could find a place. Kevin Gorby, who is dating Ms. Reed, said Andrew shoved him to the ground, and Andrew accused Ms. Reed of pushing his face. The parties declined to press charges, and Andrew left to stay with his girlfriend.

– John Moore, County Airport Road, Madison Township, called at 12:42 p.m. Saturday with concerns about someone engaging in unsafe target shooting. Deputies found Justin Reuter shooting at cans in the ground with a pistol in his backyard. The deputies determined Reuter did not have a proper backstop and he was told to cease shooting until he one could be obtained.

– Jack Castelucci of Alliance reported Thursday he was having trouble getting a tenant to leave from his rental property on Trinity Church Road, Lisbon. He said the former tenant keeps coming back and staying. The deputy advised Castelucci he needed to get an eviction order.

– Roger Pound, 11204 state Route 45, Lisbon, reported a suspicious vehicle, a Chevrolet Blazer, parked in the driveway of 11097 state Route 45, which is a foreclosed and vacant property, and there appeared to be a door open. A deputy checked the premises and found a door to the garage area had been opened and entrance had been made as well as a screen door on the front being opened. The vehicle had a note on the windshield which read “broken down, getting picked up”. The deputy had the license plan run which showed the vehicle registered to Sean Burnett, 9832 McAllister Road, Lisbon. No other action was taken.
