LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Sept. 25 for Aaron Keffer, 36, Youngstown, charged with first-degree felony aggravated burglary and misdemeanor aggravated menacing.

Keffer allegedly entered a residence on Royal Birkdale Drive in Columbiana on Sept. 14 and allegedly was seen by the resident with a gun in the waistband of his shorts. She yelled at him to leave and he fled in a vehicle, but was found at Riser Tavern on the Links and taken into custody.

A case against Joseph Otto Altenburg, 36, West Main Street, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury for third-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly causing physical harm to a woman by striking her in the face twice and dragging her by the hair on July 9 in East Palestine, with a previous domestic violence conviction on his record.

A case against Kharyzma Jerkayla Thompson, 22, Martins Ferry, was bound over to the county grand jury for third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and drug paraphernalia. During a traffic stop Sept. 7 in St. Clair Township, she was allegedly in possession of a cigarette pack containing a glass pipe which she grabbed and threw the suspected crack pipe from the packaging. She also refused to place her hands behind her back and had to be taken to the ground.

A case against Lauren Paterson, 44, Beacon Light Road, Lisbon, was bound over to the county grand jury for fifth-degree felony improper handing firearm in a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of operating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, marked lanes and drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from an Aug. 10 traffic stop in Columbiana when she admitted to having a firearm in the vehicle, and also possessed marijuana paraphernalia.

A case against Todd Hawthorne, 41, Garner Avenue, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury for fifth-degree felony receiving stolen property for allegedly possessing a stolen motorcycle on Aug. 24 in East Liverpool. He was also fined $150 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Dec. 4 for Randolph Slager, 34, Jefferson Street, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly attempting to steal four items valued at $55 that he concealed in his pants at the Calcutta Walmart on Sept. 8.

Thomas Brown, 18, Nolan, W.Va., was fined $300 for possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia for possessing a pipe and marijuana on Aug. 31 in Elkrun Township.

A pretrial was set Dec. 4 for Joshua Burkett, 47, Railroad Street, East Liverpool, charged with possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly possessing a syringe on Sept. 8 in St. Clair Township.

Bernard McLaughlin, 39, Mingo Junction, was fined $345 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served, for disorderly conduct, amended from improper transport of weapon, marked lanes and no license, amended from driving under suspension. He was ordered to serve 20 hours community service and was told to obtain a valid operator’s license. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop July 31 in St. Clair Township

Arthur Gingher, 53, Petersburg, was fined $1,285 and sentenced to 70 days in jail, with credit for 21 days served, for failure to comply, possession of marijuana, possession of drug abuse instrument, two counts driving under suspension, unsafe vehicle, failure to display, speeding, no license, marked lanes and no turn signal.

Sentencing was set Oct. 3 for Michael Herron Jr., 32, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, who pleaded guilty to four counts of drug paraphernalia for possessing drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop when he was the passenger on Sept. 8 in Liverpool Township.

A pretrial was set Dec. 18 for Michael Gage Miller, 28, North Lawrence, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense, OVI breath second offense, driving under suspension, reasonable control and no seat belt.

A motion hearing was set Oct. 2 for Jakob Graffius, 22, East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and park on highway.

Mario Patterson, 44, Warren, was ordered to spend 10 days in jail for violating his probation for OVI, driving under suspension and marked lanes.

A pretrial was set Dec. 7 for Pedro Ramos, 19, Washington Street, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath, first offense, no valid license and marked lanes.

Dante Wells, 19, Chester, W.Va., was fined $150 for possessing marijuana. A charge of underage consumption was dismissed.

A pretrial was set Dec. 18 for Elyse Schmitt, 18, Akron, charged with underage consumption.

Lisa Felekey, 56, Macrum Street, East Liverpool, was fined $350 for a stop sign-school bus violation.

Ryan McCauley, 43, Lincoln Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Wayne Hall, 67, Sixth Street, Columbiana, was fined $100 for no license and marked lanes.

A pretrial was set Nov. 27 for Aidrianna Green, 18, state Route 45, Wellsville, charged with speeding.

Allan Myers Jr., 58, Louisville, was fined $250 for speeding.

Daniel Perez, 28, Campbell, was fined $145 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Shannon Mitchell, 46, Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon, was fined $70 for driving under suspension and left of center.

Carl Poynter, 37, Chestnut Grove Road, Salem, was fined $150 for traffic control device, amended from railroad crossing violation.

Heidi Lynn Joy, 36, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for no license and reckless operation.
