Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy responded at 8:09 p.m. Sunday to a residence on state Route 45, Madison Township, to conduct a welfare check and made contact with the person’s relatives upon arrival. The deputy checked the residence and did not make contact with the person, telling the relatives to call if they make contact with the person.

— A welfare check was requested at 4:35 p.m. Sunday on Richardson Street, Middleton Township. Deputies made contact with the people upon arrival and were advised everything was okay.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported sitting in the road for a long period of time in the 22000 block of Mayfair Avenue, West Township at 4:03 p.m. Sept. 4. While deputies were en route, the caller advised the vehicle left the area. Deputies checked and didn’t find the vehicle.

— A deputy at 5:20 p.m. Sept. 3 returned a call regarding animals on Egypt Road, Salem Township, advising the caller how to proceed.

— Deputies were dispatched at 10:08 p.m. Sept. 2 to Valley Road, Butler Township, for a man allegedly making suicidal threats. Deputies spoke with the homeowner, who advised no one by the name in question lives there. Dispatch was unable to call the man back.

— A deputy at 8:09 p.m. Sept. 1 conducted a traffic stop at state Route 154 and Darlington Road, arresting Michael A. Delo, 33, on an out of state warrant and transporting him to jail.

— A deputy responded to the area of Chamberlain Street, Middleton Township, for a complaint at 7:13 p.m. Sept. 1 regarding an ATV. The area was checked, with nothing found.

— A juvenile-related incident was reported at 5:37 p.m. Sept. 1 in the area of Foundry Hill Road, Franklin Township. A deputy spoke with the juvenile and her mother and found everything in good order and advised them to be civil.

— An ATV complaint was reported at 12:29 p.m. Aug. 31 in the area of Madison Drive, Madison Township. The people were contacted at their residence and told to stay off the main roadways.

— A suspicious person was reported at 10:25 p.m. Aug. 28 in the area of Y & O Road, Madison Township. A deputy spoke to all the complainants and checked the property, finding everything in good order.

— A theft was reported at 9:21 p.m. Aug. 28 on Kevin Drive, Knox Township.

— A juvenile-related report from County Airport Road, Madison Township was taken at the station, with the complainant advised how to proceed.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Adams Avenue at 11:07 a.m. Monday for a reported barking dog complaint. The caller advised that the neighbor’s dog barks all day while they are gone. Officers spoke with the neighbor, and they advised that they would try to find a way for the dog to bark less while they are gone.

— The school resource officer was advised of an alleged issue which occurred between a student’s mother and stepfather outside of the city at 10:44 a.m. Monday. The incident was found to have occurred in the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, and all information was gathered and forwarded to the Sheriff’s Office.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:11 a.m. Monday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that a wild turkey was prowling the front door of a preschool and was worried for the safety of the children. Officers safely got the turkey back to a wooded area.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Whinnery Road at 9:29 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found that the reported injury to a child had occurred but that they were taken to the hospital immediately for treatment and there was neither abuse nor endangering of a child.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Maple Street at 9:07 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person allegedly neglecting their child and walking them in a stroller with their dog. Officers spoke with the person in and found that everything appeared to be okay. They advised that their mother was getting intoxicated and creating a scene at the residence, so he removed his child and himself from the situation to avoid conflict.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Sixth Street at 8:05 p.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers checked the area, but nobody was located.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 6:19 p.m. Sunday for a reported group of juveniles who had run away from a group home in another jurisdiction. The juveniles were turned over to the Goshen Township Police Department.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Benton Road at 3:14 p.m. Sunday for a report of criminal mischief. The caller advised that a person had gone through vehicles on his property Friday and killed the battery to one, and that they had the incident on camera. Officers were able to identify the person who advised that they wanted a report on file and for the juvenile to be trespassed from the property at that time. Officers advised the juvenile and their mother of the trespass notice.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 1 p.m. Sunday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that there was a Facebook post about her juvenile son and the caller’s options were explained to them.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Quaker Lane at 4:56 a.m. Sunday for a reported burglary alarm. Officers checked the property, and everything appeared to be normal.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 3:58 a.m. Sunday for a reported combative patient. Officers were able to calm the patient down.

— Officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the Salem CenterPlex at 1:27 a.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with both parties who had been hanging out and fell asleep in the vehicle and they were advised to leave the area.

— Officers responded to the area of Waterworth Memorial Park at 1:06 a.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious people observed in the park after hours. Officers spoke with both parties, who had just finished smoking marijuana and one, who was underage, was transported home and their mother was made aware of what they were doing. All parties were advised of the park hours, and the other person had their father come to pick them up.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Euclid Street at 12:53 a.m. Sunday for a report of loud music from a vehicle. The caller advised that a red pickup truck had driven past their home twice waking bother herself and her parents up. Officers checked the area and stood by for several minutes, but no vehicles were loud nor were they playing loud music during that time.
