Salem

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 14 and Lisbon Road at 12:16 a.m. Friday to assist the Goshen Township and Washingtonville police departments with a traffic stop in which the occupants was actively fighting with officers. When officers arrived the person in question was already in custody.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 8:34 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a juvenile. The caller advised that they received a text from the juvenile stating that he was going to harm himself with a dagger. Officers spoke with the juvenile and their guardian, and the juvenile advised that they had sent the text to make the caller upset because they would not date them. After discussing the many issues and alarm that he caused by doing so he was released back to the care of his grandmother with the understanding that if it happened again, he would be sent to the hospital. Officers contacted the caller and reassured them that the juvenile was fine.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 8:34 p.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. Officers spoke with all parties involved and two were given criminal trespass notices and advised that they would be charged if they returned.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue for a report of theft. The caller advised that Amazon had mistakenly delivered his package to his neighbor’s home, and that after speaking with his neighbor it was determined that an unknown person was caught on surveillance video taking the packages from the porch. After canvassing the neighborhood for more camera, it was determined that a man dressed in all black with a hood covering his head and face approached from the East but could not be identified at that time.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 5:03 p.m. Thursday for a report of an illegally parked vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in question and its operator in a nearby business and advised them of the complaint, the driver advised they would correct the problem

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 3:19 p.m. Thursday regarding their neighbor’s animals. Officers advised them that the city’s humane agent would be contacted about the matter.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and East Perry Street at 2:05 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers located the person in question and advised them of the complaint. No violations were observed.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:01 p.m. Thursday regarding a juvenile being bullied. Officers will forward the information to the juvenile officer.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Oak Street at 9:32 a.m. Thursday for a reported line down in the roadway. Officers found it was not an electrical line and were able to move it out of the roadway.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 200 block of East State Street at 12:33 p.m. Wednesday for a reported medical emergency. Officers provided traffic control in the area until the person in question was transported by ambulance.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday for a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle. The caller advised that they had found the window of their vehicle broken by an unknown source. Officers provided them with options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to a person at the police department at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday regarding a report of theft. They advised that a known person had taken a Nintendo Switch from their home and refused to return in, and that they had admitted to having it via text message. They also advised that they wanted to pursue charges and would send the text messages to officers.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Benton Road at 6:54 a.m. Wednesday for a reported motor vehicle accident. Officers located the vehicle and found it to be in the Goshen Township Police Department’s jurisdiction and stood by until Goshen Township officers arrived.

Washingtonville

— Officers responded at 11:58 a.m. Sept. 17 to the Washingtonville apartments on Chris Avenue for a domestic disturbance. They cleared after a refusal was signed.

— Police were dispatched at 4:55 p.m. Sept. 17 to the 500 block of High Street for a medical assist, where an elderly male fell and was unable to move.

— An officer and Green Township investigated a possible fire alarm at 10:47 a.m. Sept. 21 at Washingtonville apartments.

— Officers stopped a silver Ford Escape at 10:33 p.m. Sept. 21 on state Route 14 for a tail light violation. A passenger, Pablo Cruz, was transported to the Columbiana County Jail, where he is being held on a federal detainer for Homeland Security. No additional information was available.

Leetonia

— Police responded at 11:33 p.m. Sept. 24 to an accidental 911 call in the 100 block of Oak Street.

— An officer responded at 12:54 p.m. Sept. 24 to the 100 block of Oak Street for a welfare check. Upon speaking to the subject through the window, he was greeted with profanity screams the whole time. Since he was okay, the officer cleared.

— Stephen Anderson, unknown address, was cited at 12:46 p.m. Sept. 25 for driving under suspension at the intersection of Oak and Main streets. The vehicle was released to a passenger who was given a wrongful entrustment.

— While stationary running radar on state Route 344 at 8:07 p.m. Sept. 23, an officer observed a black newer sports motorcycle with a driver all in black eastbound on 344 without a license plate or rear lights. When he initiated his emergency lights to try to stop it, the bike accelerated to speed around 100 mph to avoid police. The officer stopped the pursuit due to the speeds but believed it had headed toward state Route 164. So he asked dispatch to advise Lisbon police and the State Highway Patrol and cleared.

— Officers responded shortly after 9 a.m. Sept. 22 to McKeefrey Farms for an employee having a medical emergency. He had to be placed to put him on the EMS cot before he was pinkslipped and transported.

— Police responded at 9:25 p.m. Sept. 22 on Coal Alley to a disturbance in progress. According to the complainant who had responded to the apartment to retrieve their property, they were greeted by a female swing a golf club at them and destroying the male subjects property. When inquiry was made of the alleged assailant, she denied any type of confrontation beyond leaving his property out on her back porch. He told police that he had more property in the structure and denied having an “unregistered firearm” inside a safe he had come to retrieve. When inventorying the safe’s contents, the officer had found a firearm in the safe, which was confiscated along with its contents until conclusion of his investigation. Dustin Holderaum, Chad Wilson and Tara Gill all were trespassed from the property.

— A family in the 100 block of Walnut Street reported at 3:08 p.m. Sept. 19 the disappearance of a prescription of Adderall from the home. It is believed that the preteen hid the medicine to avoid taken it.

Columbiana

— Steven Faulkner, of Columbiana, was arrested at 4:13 p.m. Sept. 13 on an active warrant on Camelot Drive.

— A found debit card was turned in at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 12 to dispatch from the 100 block of Hawkins Lane.

— Jeffrey Schreiber, of Columbiana, was arrested at 8:52 p.m. Sept. 11 in the 400 block of North Middle Street on OVI and operating a motorcycle outside of license restrictions.

— Anna Stone, of Columbiana, was arrested shortly after noon Sept. 10 on an outstanding warrant in the 1200 block of Columbiana Lisbon Road out of Mahoning County.

— A unnamed citizen consulted on station at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 6 regarding a child custody matter.

East Palestine

– Officers responded at 3:54 p.m. on Saturday to West Martin Street to a report of a shattered vehicle window.

– Officers responded at 7:52 p.m. on Saturday to a report of an open bay door at Brittain Motors on East Martin Street. Nothing appeared out of place. Officers secured the door and cleared the scene.

– Officers responded at 3:54 p.m. on Saturday to West Martin Street to a report of a shattered vehicle window.

– Officers conducted a traffic stop at 8:09 p.m. on Saturday on Bacon Avenue. A K-9 indicated the odor of narcotics and offices located a crack pipe and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine on the driver floor board. The evidence was sent to a BCI crime lab for analysis and criminal charges are expected against the unnamed driver who was also cited for traffic control devices.

– Officers responded at 10:17 p.m. on Saturday to West Martin Street to a report of a suspicious person in the area. The area was searched.

– Officers responded at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday to West Martin Street to a report of a theft.

– Officers responded at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday to a report of a suspicious man taking photos of homes in the area of West Clark and James streets from the middle of the street. Officers made contact with the man who advised him to stay out of the roadway.

– Officers responded at 10:56 p.m. on Sunday to a report of dogs running loose at the park, The dogs were located and returned to their owner.

– Officers responded at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday to West Martin Street to a report of a theft.

– Officers responded at 1:09 p.m. on Monday to West Main Street to a report of stolen items found during an eviction notice delivery. Street signs, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were observed in the open and Baily Riddle, no age given, was arrested. Charley Masters, no age given, was also arrested for underage consumption after he became disorderly with officers.

– Officers responded at 6:40 p.m. on Monday to West North Avenue to a report that a child’s four-wheeler had been stolen.

– Officers responded at 9:43 p.m. on Monday to Garfield Avenue to a report that a man was punched in the face. Jefferey LaRoche, no age given, was later arrested for domestic violence.
