Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded at 4:19 p.m. Thursday to Cherry Valley Road, Salem Township, regarding a fire and were met by a person who was burning stuff. The Leetonia Fire Department was called and put the fire out.

— A barking dog was reported at 6:31 p.m. Tuesday at Endley Road, Center Township. A deputy spoke with the owner and he advised he would put the dog away.

— A man on Case Road, Knox Township, reported at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday that he left his residence from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. and when he returned, someone had entered the unlocked man door on the garage attached to the residence and stole his 24-inch chainsaw.

— Lacee Dianna Mix, 35, North Market Street, Lisbon, was taken into custody and charged with theft after a deputy was dispatched at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday to Discount Drug Mart, state Route 45, Lisbon, for a theft report. Mix was transported to the Columbiana County jail.

— A man on Gavers Road, Hanover Township reported at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday that his daughter’s mother, also Hanover Township, continues to harass him by calling him and sending text messages.

— A woman on Chamberlain Street, Middleton Township reported at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday that she found two Apple air tags underneath her vehicle.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6 p.m. Tuesday to the KOA on Winona Road, Butler Township, for a welfare check on a person. The deputy spoke with the person, who said everything was fine and they are not in contact with some of their family members at this time and this may have resulted in the welfare check.

— A woman on Steubenville Pike Road, Wayne Township reported at 1:24 p.m. Tuesday that at custody exchange with her children’s father, of Midland, Pa., he would not give back their Apple watches.

— A theft report was taken on Sell Road, Center Township at 7:29 p.m. Nov. 15. Jonathan Post, 37, Taylor Road, Middleton Township, was charged with theft and served at the county jail.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:36 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they were fine.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 8:15 p.m. Thursday for a reported suicidal person. Officers spoke with the person in question who said they wanted to jump in front of a train, but none were coming. Officers continued speaking with the man until the fire department and EMT arrived and transported them to the hospital for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:01 p.m. Thursday for a report of shoplifting. Officers advised the involved parties that they would be issued court summonses for the violations.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 3:26 p.m. Thursday for a report of criminal damage which occurred at a school bus stop. Several juveniles on the bus identified who committed the damage. Due to the incident occurring at the bus stop, and the juvenile being too young for criminal charges, the matter will be forwarded to the School Resource Officer.

— Officers responded to the area of East State Street and North Lincoln Avenue at 3:15 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers found it to be an ongoing issue that started at the school and continued on the walk home. Officers took the information and forwarded it to the School Resource Officer.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East School Street at 3:19 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the involved parties and found that two juveniles had gotten into an altercation on their way home from school. The information will be forwarded to the school resource officer.

— Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Fifth Street at 2:56 p.m. Thursday for a reported fight in progress. Officers located several juveniles in the area and spoke with them but were unable to determine the source of the altercation.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Arch Street at 3:03 p.m. Thursday for a reported civil matter. Officers spoke with a resident who advised officers of a family issue. The issue was found to be civil in nature and occurring in Cleveland.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:26 p.m. Thursday for a reported scam. The man advised that he ordered a new phone through Spectrum and when the phone was delivered, he received a call from someone he believed worked for Spectrum instructing him to send it back through UPS due to it being the wrong phone and the correct one would be sent to him. The man sent the phone back and never received a new one, and when he called Spectrum to explain the situation, he was instructed to file a police report so he could get another phone sent to him.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Summit Street at 10:12 a.m. Thursday for a report of theft. The caller advised that two packages were taken off their front porch, and they were unsure who may have taken them.

Perry Township

— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday regarding an incident which occurred between her and a known man. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Brookview Drive at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday for a 911 open line. Officers spoke with the homeowner who had just arrived home and found everything to be okay.

— Officers responded to the 2100 block of Goshen Road at 4:31 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to contact the homeowner.

— Harvey Corley, 74, Morgantown, Maryland, was cited for a stop sign violation after her eastbound vehicle failed to stop and ran off the road at the dead end of U.S. Route 62 and into a property on North Lincoln Avenue, striking a sign and fence before ultimately be stopped when striking a wood pile which caused the air bags to deploy at 8:51 p.m. Monday. The fire department and EMT responded, and Corley was transported to St. Elizabeth main. Kaiser Towing responded to remove the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Pidgeon Road at 2:07 p.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that someone keeps moving the rope with a no trespassing sign blocking off the parking lot. An extra patrol will be conducted in the area.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Pidgeon Road at 1:15 p.m. Monday for a report of criminal damage. The caller advised that it appeared someone had attempted to cut the catalytic converter off his van. An extra patrol will be conducted in the area.

— Officers spoke to a person in the 1200 block of East 13th Street at 10:23 p.m. Sunday regarding an incident that occurred two days prior. The caller advised that his daughter had gone to a party and when he picked them up, he found that juveniles were intoxicated. The caller transported all of the juveniles to their residence and was unable to contact the parents. The caller was also unable to give the juveniles full names or exact locations. The incident is being investigated.
