— The school resource officer was advised of an issue with a student by school administrators at 2:40 p.m. Friday. Officers and administrators spoke with the student about their concerns and Child Protective Services were contacted about the issues again.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue at 1:22 p.m. Friday for a report of a disturbed man. The man was yelling and acting frantic about people in his residence and wanted them to leave. Officers checked the house and did not locate anyone in the residence. The man was paranoid and insisted that there was still someone in the house. EMT and first responders were called to check on the man, and he was ultimately transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 12:01 p.m. Friday for a verbal dispute. The caller was gathering his belongings and leaving the residence and requested an officer stand by until he got his property loaded into his vehicle. The man loaded his vehicle, advised he would not be returning and left. Officers advised the female half that if she let the man back into the residence in the future, she would have to start the eviction process again.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 10:25 a.m. Friday for a reported domestic. Officers spoke with a man who advised that his girlfriend’s brother and friend were at the residence and wanted him to leave. Officers spoke with the girlfriend who advised that they had broken up, but he would not leave, and she gave him a three-day notice to move out. The man advised that he wasn’t going to leave and she would have to evict him. The woman, her brother, and friend left temporarily to calm down.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Fourth Street at 8:46 a.m. Friday for a 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with a man who advised that the call was accidental and everything was fine.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 12:28 a.m. Friday for a reported person that was upset about a medical condition. EMT and the fire department responded, and the person in question was transported to the hospital.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:26 p.m. Thursday for a reported disturbed person. The caller advised that they were hearing a loud drilling coming from their walls. After speaking with them further and advising that nothing else could be heard the caller calmed down and prepared for bed.

— Officers responded to the area of South Howard Avenue at 7:17 p.m. Thursday for a report of a pedestrian possibly being struck by a vehicle. Officers searched the area but did not locate anyone, nor did anyone present see any accident occur.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 5:16 p.m. Thursday for a reported dispute in progress. Officers spoke with both parties and determined that it was a dispute over living conditions and that one party had received an eviction notice and was unhappy about it. Officers advised both of the consequences should their behavior continue,

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:44 p.m. Thursday for a report of theft. The caller advised that someone had gotten into their unlocked vehicle in the parking lot and stolen his wallet and a hard drive. Officers advised him to contact his bank and have his card canceled.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Benton Road at 11:19 a.m. Thursday for a report of fraud. The caller advised that the property owner’s ex-wife was issuing fraudulent gift cards for the business. Officers spoke with the woman, who advised that they had permission from the owner to issue the gift cards. Information was collected from all parties and will be sent for review.

— Robert Diehl, 24, Canton, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his eastbound vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Thoman Hayden, 57, Warren, in the 2100 block of East State Street at 10:40 a.m. Thursday.

— Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of West State Street at 10:03 a.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. An employee advised that a person had been causing issues and requested they be trespassed from the property. Officers advised the man that he was trespassed from the property and would be arrested if he returned.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:34 a.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they were concerned for the resident due to the home not having any heat. Officers spoke with the man in question who advised that his furnace went out and he was in the process of getting it replaced and that he did not need any assistance.
