Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies were dispatched at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday to state Route 154, Center Township, for an unknown medical call involving a person possibly unconscious. Deputies, West Point EMS and Northstar EMS spoke with the person, who was sleeping and was fine.
— A juvenile-related report was taken from a residence on state Route 45, Madison Township, at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday. The report was sent to child protective services.
— A deputy was dispatched at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday to Lisa Lane, Center Township, for an assault report. The victim did not want to press charges.
— Deputies responded at 8:49 p.m. Monday to Burtview Place, Butler Township, regarding a domestic dispute and learned while en route that one of the people had an active warrant. The person, whose name was not listed on the report, was taken into custody on the warrant and taken to jail. Deputies advised the other person involved on what was happening.
— A deputy returned a call from 10:34 p.m. Sunday regarding menacing on state Route 644, Hanover Township. The caller was advised how to proceed.
— An alarm was reported on Hartley Road, Knox Township, with the residence found secure when deputies arrived at 10:40 p.m. Sunday. The deputies found no signs of forced entry.
— A suspicious person was reported walking down Depot Road, Hanover Township at 6:49 p.m. Sunday. Deputies made contact with the person and dispatch advised the person had an active warrant. The person was taken into custody and taken to jail. The name of the person was not listed on the report.
— An alarm was reported at 10:27 p.m. Jan. 31 at Dollar General, state Route 172, Hanover Township, with all doors and windows found secure at ground level.
— A deputy was dispatched at 6:02 p.m. Jan. 31 to Brushville Road, Unity Township, for a civil matter involving a landlord and tenant. All parties were advised of the eviction process.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Monday for a reported reckless driver. Officers checked the area and located the vehicle, and spoke with the driver. The driver advised they were coming home from the gym and admitted that at one point they had been on their phone to change music. They were advised not to do so again.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue at 9:07 p.m. Monday for a reported assault. The caller advised that a person had torn his shirt off, leaving what appeared to be nail scratches on his chest, and then bit them on the shoulder. The person in question had left prior to officers’ arrival, and officers advised them to come to the police department tomorrow to fill out a statement due to them being intoxicated. The caller denied medical attention.
— While checking for a person with an active warrant in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, officers located an additional wanted person and felony drugs being used while speaking with the person. The wanted person attempted to hide, and both people with active warrants, James Lippiatt Jr., 36, Salem, and Melissa Brink, 45, Salem, were ordered out of the house and arrested. While removing others from the residence, Dillon Corfee, 25, Austintown, was arrested and charged with obstructing official business and drug paraphernalia. Once Corfee was removed a Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force agent gained consent from the resident, and the items in plain view and other dangerous drugs from the residence were recovered without incident.
— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday for a reported reckless officer and observed a similar vehicle committing a traffic violation. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver was advised of the complaint and the violation. The driver advised they would not drive in that manner anymore and was given a verbal warning for the violation.
— Officers responded to the area of Washington Avenue and Oak Street at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday to attempt to locate a person with an outstanding warrant. Officers spoke with a family member, who advised that he was not there and would not allow officers inside the check.
