Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy was dispatched at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday to Sprucevale Road, Middleton Township for a welfare check on a juvenile. The report was forwarded to Child Protective Services.

— A woman on U.S. Route 30, West Township reported at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday that a man in Canton has her blood pressure medication in his vehicle and will not give it back to her.

— A woman on Boston Street, Salem Township reported at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday that her soon-to-be ex-husband of Youngstown harasses her and threatens to take her to court and get a protection order on her during their custody exchange of their child. She was advised how to get a protection order.

— A deputy took a report on station at 4:24 p.m. Sunday regarding a domestic dispute, asking the person if they needed medical attention or had any injuries and was told no. The person advised they would be filing for a protection order. The deputy then went to Richardson Avenue, Negley to make contact with the other person due to suicidal threats made. The deputy made contact with the person’s relative who said the person was fine and the threats were made in the heat of the moment. The relative said the other person would call the sheriff’s office after arriving home.

Highway Patrol

— Hannah N. Altman, 27, Signal Road, Columbiana, suffered a suspected serious injury and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital by Columbiana EMS after her eastbound vehicle went off of the right side of state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 8:35 a.m. April 28 and struck an embankment, a mailbox and a tree. The report said a citation was issued for failure to control.

— A hit/skip was reported at 8:18 a.m. April 27 on U.S. Route 30 in Center Township when an eastbound vehicle driven by Melissa Sue Skidmore, 47, King Street, Minerva, was passing another eastbound vehicle and the other vehicle crossed the center line, causing the Skidmore vehicle to go off of the left side of the road and strike a culvert and utility pole. The report said Skidmore suffered a suspected minor injury, but wasn’t transported.

— William G. Faith, 52, East State Street, Salem, suffered suspected serious injuries after the motorcycle he was riding overturned while he was making a right turn in the parking lot at Kent State Salem at 11:10 a.m. April 26 in Salem Township. The report said Faith was transported by Winona EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was wearing a helmet. No citation was issued.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Rose Avenue at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday for a reported civil issue. The resident was reportedly throwing out property of individuals who had been residing there. Officers were advised that the matter had been a misunderstanding which had already been resolved.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Union Avenue at 8:54 a.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle, and it was moved.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Sharp Avenue at 6:23 a.m. Wednesday for a barking dog report. Officers monitored the area and found no violation.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday for a noise complaint. Officers checked the area, but nothing was heard.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 12:52 a.m. Wednesday for a report of possible narcotics. Contraband was recovered, and the matter will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they were being mistreated by the staff. Officers spoke with all parties and were able to resolve the issue.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicions odor. Officers located an odor of marijuana and advised the caller of the source of the smell and that it was legal.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the complaint, and they turned it down.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that a log splitter was stolen from the property overnight, and surveillance footage was provided.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday for a report of menacing. Store associates reported a man had threatened employees. The business did not want to pursue charges but did want the person trespassed. Officers spoke with the man in question and served them with the trespass notice.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 1:06 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers observed that the person in question’s vehicle was not present.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a person who advised that the person in question no longer lives at the residence.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed. The woman in question was advised to leave the property and did so.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Snyder Road at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday about a possible issue with a prior employee. Officers gathered information and advised that an extra patrol was placed in the area. The employer was advised that if any issues developed to call back.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with the homeowner and a neighbor but were unable to locate the source of the call.

— Officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Franklin Avenue at 10:38 p.m. Monday, and when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, it fled from officers before going down a dead-end road and stopping. The driver, Hayden Hunt, 21, Laurelville, was taken into custody charged with OVI, failure to comply, and reckless operation and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 10:21 p.m. Monday for a report of criminal damaging. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers spoke to a person at the 100 block of East Sixth Street at 8:46 p.m. Monday for a report of theft. The caller advised that their bicycle was stolen from outside his residence sometime within the last day. Officers advised that a report would be on file.

— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 6:57 p.m. Monday for a report of several juveniles on electric bikes. Officers spoke with the juveniles, who weren’t doing anything wrong.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Fourth Street at 6:34 p.m. Monday for a parking complaint. Officers spoke with a resident, who advised that they would move the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue to assist the Perry Township Police Department. K-9 Fero was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor from a vehicle. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 5:23 p.m. Monday about the process to obtain a protection order. Officers provided her with the requested information.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 1:45 p.m. Monday for a report of criminal damage to multiple vehicles. Officers spoke with the business owner about the damage, who advised that this was a recurring issue, and they have filed several reports about it. Officers advised that pictures would be taken of the damage.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 1:32 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible break in. Officers spoke with the resident, who was not making any sense. Due to their behavior, first responders and EMT were contacted to respond, and transported the resident for further treatment. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view, and a Drug Enforcement Task Force agent responded and later destroyed the paraphernalia at the police department.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 12:40 p.m. Monday with a peer support specialist for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the people in question and found them to be okay. They also spoke with peer support to receive additional assistance.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 11:42 a.m. Monday for a report of a man defecating in a parking lot. Officers spoke with the man in question, whose name was not listed, and admitted to the incident occurring. The man was advised that he would be issued a summons for charges of public indecency. He was also served with a trespass notice for the property where the incident occurred.

— Officers responded to the area of West State Street and South Ellsworth Avenue at 9:57 a.m. Monday for a wellness check on a woman and a juvenile. The caller advised that both were carrying several items and appeared to be in distress. The woman advised that they were okay and were moving the items into a new residence.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue near East Pidgeon Road at 10:27 p.m. Monday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Blossom Lane at 9:46 p.m. Monday for a reported unresponsive person. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:46 p.m. Monday for a registration violation. An investigation is pending.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Sunday for a report of public urination. Officers were unable to locate the man in question but collected statement from three witnesses.

— Officers stopped a suspected vehicle that had been accused of stealing from a business at 2:46 p.m. Sunday. Officers stood by until the police department arrived and took over the scene.

— Officers responded to the 31000 block of Salem Alliance Road at 9:01 a.m. Saturday to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a possible assault. Officers were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Goshen Road at 2:16 a.m. Friday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the driver, who advised they were looking for their brother who had stolen and consumed pills. Dispatch contacted his phone provider to attempt to locate him for safety, and he was located standing in the roadway in the 2000 block of Hampton Place. Officers recovered the prescription bottle and due to the man’s disorientation, EMT responded and transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Ninth Street at 11:59 a.m. Friday to assist the Salem Police Department with an unresponsive man. When officer arrived, the man was responsive and highly intoxicated. The man was transported by EMT.

Leetonia

— An officer responded to the 200 block of Ridge Street at 9:12 p.m. April 30 where a resident reported hearing someone knocking at the side of his residence and seeing people running away when he locked the door. The officer found no one in the area.

— Officers responded to the area of Lisbon Street and State Street at 7:40 a.m. April 30 for a hit and skip. Security footage showed a white crane truck struck a utility pole and fled the scene.

— Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 9 a.m. April 29 for a report of telecommunications harassment. The man advised their daughter was receiving text messages, calls, and threats on social media from another juvenile. They just wanted officers to advise them to stop at that time, and officers will advise the other juvenile’s parent of the same.

— Audriana Monroe was cited for speeding and expired registration in the 800 block of Walnut Street at 2:21 p.m. April 28.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ridge Street at 12:04 p.m. April 27 for a 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with several people in the area but were unable to locate the source of the call.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Walnut Street at 8:28 a.m. April 27 for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juvenile, but they later returned to their mother’s residence.
