Municipal LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Charles A. Slocum Jr., 34, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, was bound over to the county grand jury for failure to verify residence address, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to update his current address with the sex offender registration as of Feb. 3. Slocum was fined $1,125 and sentenced to 50 days in jail for operating a vehicle impaired and failure to display valid sticker, along with violating the terms of his probation for a 2024 case involving charges of menacing, assault and resisting arrest. Municipal LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set March 16 for Sean Zett, 40, Ravenna, charged with grand theft auto, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly stealing a 2024 Ford Raptor under the ruse of identifying himself under a different name and taking the vehicle for a test drive and to his mechanic on Jan. 17 from Tri-State Ford in East Liverpool. The caller advised that his neighbor’s car door was left open, and due to their age, they were concerned. — Firefighters responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 8 p.m. Feb. 9 for a report of a person trapped inside their car inside the automatic car wash building. Engine two was able to free the driver by tripping the door sensor so it would open.

SALEM POLICE REPORTS —Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 10:51 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person allegedly attempting to break into vehicles in the hospital parking lot. Officers spoke with the person in question who denied the allegation and advised they were eating at a nearby business and started walking down the sidewalk to a family member’s house.
