Highway Patrol
— Jon Lee Brenneman, 60, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, and his passenger, Cena Marie Mason, 31, Ninth Avenue, East Liverpool, both suffered suspected serious injuries and were taken by Stat Medevac to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment after Brenneman’s westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle crossed the center line and traveled off of state Route 154 before striking a guardrail at 9:07 p.m. June 26 in Elkrun Township. No citation was listed on the report.
— No injuries were reported after a westbound vehicle caught fire and was disabled on U.S. Route 30 at 8:02 p.m. June 23 in Center Township. The driver was listed as William E. Heath, 32, Carrollton.
— Matthew Stoudt, 23, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, was cited for a red light violation after running a red light while eastbound on East State Street and striking a southbound Salem police cruiser operated by Sgt. Karl Toy on South Broadway in downtown Salem at 10:11 a.m. June 23. No injuries were reported to Toy, Stoudt or Stoudt’s passenger.
— Jack O. Colon, 65, Longs Crossing Road, Leetonia, was cited for left of center after his southbound vehicle on state Route 45 in Madison Township was negotiating a curve and there was a disabled vehicle in the south lane of the road. He swerved into the north lane to avoid a collision with the disabled vehicle and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Allison L. Kazee, 40, Hibbetts Mill Road, Wellsville, who suffered suspected minor injuries, but wasn’t transported at 8:40 a.m. June 23. Colon wasn’t injured.
— Madalynn M. Painter, 19, Dillonvale, was cited for reasonable control after losing control of her westbound vehicle on U.S. Route 30 in Madison Township, going off the right side of the road and striking a sign post at 7:40 a.m. June 22. No injury was reported.
— An unknown driver in an unknown vehicle failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck a vehicle from behind at 10:30 a.m. June 19 in Fairfield Township on state Route 14. The struck vehicle was driven by Richard R. Chamberlin, 66, Madison Street, Lisbon, who was stopped preparing to turn left. No injury was reported.
— An unknown driver in a hit/skip accident was northbound on Bandy Road in Knox Township at 1:42 a.m. June 21 when the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and drove off the right side of U.S. 62 into a field. The vehicle was a 2022 Chevy Blazer owned by an Alliance woman.
— Kyle T. Molnar, 35, New Middletown, was cited for reasonable control after his northbound vehicle went off the right side of U.S. Route 30 and struck a ditch at 8:17 p.m. June 20 in Madison Township. Molnar and two passengers were uninjured.
Salem
— A suspicious person was reported looking into vehicles in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Sixth Street at 7:27 a.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the person who denied the allegations and did not observe any suspicious behavior. The person was given a courtesy transport to a local restaurant to await a ride from a friend.
— A combative patient was reported in the 1900 block of East State Street at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday. Officers assisted hospital staff and until the woman was transported by EMT.
— Officers spoke with a person in the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 9:13 p.m. Monday regarding a person staying in their garage. Officers gathered the information and will look into the matter.
— Officers conducted a wellness check on a juvenile in the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 7:37 p.m. Monday. The matter is under investigation.
— A dispute was reported between two women in the 300 block of West Second Street at 1:24 p.m. Monday. Officers determined that one of the women had deliberately driven the other off the road and run over their bicycle while it was on the ground unoccupied following a verbal altercation. The woman in the vehicle left prior to officers’ arrival and the woman who owned the bicycle declined to pursue any criminal charges.
— Officers conducted a wellness check on a woman in the 1100 block of East Third Street at 9:28 a.m. Monday. The woman agreed to be seen at an emergency room and was transported by the fire department for further evaluation.
— A child left in a vehicle unattended was reported in the 900 block of East State Street at 9:20 a.m. Monday. Officers spoke with an employee of the business where the incident occurred and were advised that the juvenile was left on with the air running, and the parent was always in view of the child.
— A juvenile threatening other juveniles was reported in the 800 block of East School Street at 10:24 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the juveniles and their guardians, and the matter will be forwarded to the juvenile officer for review. The juveniles were advised to stay away from one another.
— Virginia Christy-Keener, East Liverpool, was arrested charged with theft at 9:24 p.m. Sunday after she and another woman took $758.95 worth of merchandise without paying from a business in the 2800 block of East State Street. Charges for the other woman are pending.
— A person yelling at people in the neighborhood was reported in the 500 block of Walnut Street at 7:09 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them to mind their own business and not yell at others.
— A person pulling a firearm on a group of juveniles was reported at a business in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:31 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with all parties involved and determined that the allegation was false and that the juveniles had been creating issues with other customers all day. The juveniles were trespassed from the business at the manager’s request.
— Theft was reported in the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 2:37 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised that someone had taken their e-bike without their knowledge or permission. Officers advised the caller of their options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers checked on a resident in the 1300 block of Jennings Avenue at 11:07 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The man in question was transported to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation.
— Criminal damage to a motor vehicle was reported in the 200 block of Cunningham Road at 10:42 a.m. Sunday. Officers will review video footage to potentially identify the responsible party.
— A protection order violation was reported in the 900 block of East Fourth Street at 4:41 a.m. Sunday. The caller advised that someone with a protection order against them has been following them around the city and attempting to contact them. Officers advised the person in question to do their part to stay away and that the incident would be documented.
— Threats were reported in the 1200 block of East Fourth Street at 10 p.m. Saturday. The caller advised their ex-husband had texted them threatening to kill their juvenile daughter. Officers collected copies of the messages and had the caller fill out a statement, and took the man, Shawn Timmons, Salem, into custody charged with domestic violence.
— Theft was reported in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 1:27 p.m. Saturday. The caller advised that someone had taken their e-bike while it was parked on the sidewalk. Officers spoke with a witness who advised that an unknown man in a truck had put the bike in the bed of their truck. Officers also spoke to the juvenile’s mother by phone and advised them of the situation. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate it.
— Theft was reported in the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:55 p.m. Friday. The caller advised that a woman pushed out over $300 of merchandise without paying and left in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the 1100 block of East Third Street and Doyle Conner Jr, New Philadelphia, was taken into custody charged with theft. Further investigation is ongoing.
— An attempted suicide was reported in the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 7:02 p.m. Friday. EMT responded and transported the person in question to the hospital for further evaluation.
— A 3-year-old juvenile was reported wandering alone in the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:34 a.m. Friday. Officers determined that the juvenile had walked away from their residence in the 200 block of East Fifth Street, and returned them to their mother, who was looking for them.
