Salem — Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 12:54 a.m. Thursday for a reported medical call. EMT advised that a person had ingested rat poison, and a witness advised they had been chewing on the substance and had multiple seizures before calling 911. The person in question was conscious, but due to other mental issues officers were unable to speak with them. Sheriff’s Office — A representative of Arbaugh Mini Storage, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township reported at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday that a man was sleeping inside an unlocked storage unit. When confronted, the unknown man left the property walking on foot. Atoyebi, 40, last known address listed as Clive, Iowa, who’s in federal custody on an alleged immigration-related federal offense. Sheriff’s Office — A deputy was dispatched at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday to a property on Miller Road, Center Township for a 911 hangup call. Dispatch called the number back and spoke to someone who said a family member was having some type of medical issue and an ambulance was not required at this time.
