Bonita “Bonnie” Blythe Brenner, a cherished educator, devoted family woman, and beacon of warmth, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2025, in Weston, Fla., at the age of 77. Bonnie was born on April 20, 1948, in Salem, Ohio, to the late Walter and Kathryn Blythe, and was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mitchell Brenner, and her dear brother, Gary Blythe.
Bonnie’s life was a testament to her enduring love for her family and her passion for education. After graduating from Morehead State University, she dedicated 28 years to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. Her commitment to her students went beyond the classroom, as she was known for her involvement in school activities and her unwavering support for every child’s potential.
Beyond her professional achievements, Bonnie’s zest for life was evident through her various interests. She was an avid reader, always keen to explore new worlds and ideas within the pages of a book. Her love for shopping was more than a pastime; it was an expression of her vibrant personality and an opportunity to share joyful moments with her loved ones. Above all, Bonnie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, creating memories that would be treasured for generations to come.
Bonnie’s legacy is carried on by her loving daughters, Julie Fanelli and Stacey Hett, who will forever hold dear the lessons of kindness and resilience their mother instilled in them. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through her grandchildren, Madeleine Fanelli, Andrew Fanelli, Norah Hett, and Nathaniel Hett, each of whom she adored, with every ounce of her being.
As we mourn the loss of Bonita Blythe Brenner, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led and the countless hearts she touched. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Bonnie’s journey through life was marked by grace and compassion, and her memory will live on as a guiding light for her family, friends, and the many students whose lives she enriched.
Bonnie’s departure from this world leaves behind a legacy of love and education that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved Mitchell, as well as her parents and brother, in a place of eternal peace. Bonnie’s life will be celebrated in the memories of her cherished family, the stories shared by her friends, and the indelible mark she left on her community. Though she has left this earthly realm, the impact of her love and dedication will endure forever.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.
