Linda S. Troy

1943-2026

LEETONIA — Linda S. Troy, 82, of Leetonia, died on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

She was born on Sept. 4, 1943, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Nelly McDonald Sommers.

Linda had worked as a waitress at several local establishments over the years and had belonged to several clubs including the Leetonia ITAM Club, Leetonia American Legion and the Washingtonville VFW. She enjoyed reading and cooking, but mostly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughters.

Her husband, Carmen A. Troy, whom she married on Sept. 9, 1961, preceded her in death on March 26, 2021.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Ron) Lutz of Salem; son, Tony (Shannon) Troy of Salem; sister, Virginia Pew of Yuma, Arizona; brother, John Sommers of Salem; three granddaughters, Taylor, Rylie and Macey Troy; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Davis; and by two brothers, Ronald and Norman Sommers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Leetonia.

Services will be held on Saturday at noon at the funeral home, with Fred Lamb, minister, officiating.

Linda will be laid to rest with her husband at the Washingtonville Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
