Robert ‘Mark’ Hawthorne

1960-2026

LISBON — Robert “Mark” Hawthorne, 65, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family early Monday morning March 16, 2026 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born May 1, 1960 in Salem, Ohio, he was a son of the late John C. and Kathryn (Bailey) Hawthorne.

In addition to working the family farm, Mark worked as a welder and foreman at Winkle Industries for many years.

A Christian by faith, he enjoyed participating in tractor pulls, working on his classic car collection, and was an avid hunter. Most importantly, he was devoted to his family.

In addition to his wife Sheryl (Bartha) Hawthorne of 43 years, he is survived by his children: Avery Hawthorne, Robyn (Joe) Bell, and Dana (Jordan) Faudree; four grandchildren: Levi and Landon Bell, Kyle and Mya Faudree; and his siblings: Susan Barton, Nancy Coie, Julie Hawthorne, and Tom (Brenda) Hawthorne.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his step-mother Betty Hawthorne.

The memorial service officiated by the Rev. Jeremy Hollingshead will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m.
