Anthony Dominic Martinelli 1929-2023 SALEM — Anthony Dominic Martinelli passed away in his home on March 12, 2023. Born in Salem on Sept. 14, 1929, to Emilio and Anna (Iannani) Martinelli, Tony was a proud Salem resident for most of his life. As a star athlete, he assisted the Quakers to many victories, making the All-Ohio teams in basketball and football before graduating in 1947. He attended Miami University before serving his country as a soldier in the United States Army. Fred A. Liggitt 1949-2023 SALEM – Fred A. Liggitt, 73, died Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center in Columbiana. Fred was born on March 21, 1949 in Lisbon, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Marian (Ewing) Liggitt. Fred was a 1967 graduate of Lisbon High School and retired from General Motors after 31 years.
