Mayor offers thanks for July 4th support

To the editor: As Mayor of the City of Salem, I want to thank the following citizens and organizations for their generous support and sponsorship, and for once again making this year’s fireworks display possible. It is important to remember that no tax dollars are spent to purchase fireworks. The only money used to fund this city-wide event comes entirely from donations made from individuals, organizations and businesses. To the editor: We must have faith in our judicial system. I shed tears following the results of the Trump trial. LET FREEDOM RING from our judiciary. RIGGED. To the editor: Governor Dewine made the rounds recently in his presumptive Santa Claus suit finally handing out the funds from the Appalachian Capital Fund … funds that have been sitting in Columbus for an inordinate amount of time. The Mahoning Valley Region which consisted of Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties was the last region in Ohio to find out what their booty might be. With the costs of gas, manufactured goods, and food increasing, we need to rely on our own oil, natural gas, and coal in order to drive down the costs for consumers. To the editor: Salem Preservation members are in high gear as they prepare several major programs for the 51st National Preservation Month in May! May 1st will kick off a trilogy of events that have been in the works for some time now. A “Celebration of Preservation” at the 103-year-old Salem Golf Club along SR 45 south of Salem will be a double celebration!
