To the editor: Liberals like to point out how smart and virtuous they are. They put signs in their yards signaling their virtue. Take a letter to the editor in the June 28 edition for instance. To the editor: Issue 1 has nothing to do with “protecting” Ohio’s Constitution and has everything to do with protecting the status quo. And what is the status quo? We have this election in August in the first place because very wealthy individuals and special interest groups have successfully bought their way into our democracy. To the editor:  In about one year it is projected that a pivotal federal broadband program, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), will run out of funding, hurting not only the nearly 1 million Ohio households that currently depend on the program to stay connected, but also rural households here in Columbiana County that will rely upon the ACP’s existence to spur broadband infrastructure investment in areas that still lack access. Annexation – Detachment

The Ohio Revised Code provides the procedures to not only annex lands from a township to a municipality but to detach lands from a municipality back to a township. This precisely happened long ago between the City of Salem and the Township of Perry, and it happened in a new development started in the 1920s called “Salem Heights” containing both the north portion along Benton Road and the south portion across US 62 and SR 173.
