Clippers edge South Range

COLUMBIANA — Hunter Davanzo had 14 points and nine boards as Columbiana edged South Range 54-53 on Saturday in boys basketball action.

Cooper Brown added 13 points and eight rebounds for the winners. Carter Johnson broke into double figures with 11 points and six assists.

For South Range, Nick Toy had 16 points and Tommy Titus had 15 points.

Columbiana (5-0) will be East Palestine Tuesday. South Range is 2-2.

Columbiana won the jayvee game, 27-17. For the Clippers, Carter Griffith had seven points. Guido Miller had six points for Range.

SALEM — Deontay Steele had 13 points and three assists, while Ty Manion added 12 points and five rebounds in Salem’s 75-43 loss to Southeast on Saturday.

Jack Andres addded 12 points.

Cohen Richardson led the Pirates with 35 points.

Salem (1-3) is at Heartland on Tuesday.

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Springfield’s boys basketball team beat Crestview 49-36 on Saturday.

The Tigers are 3-2. Landon Dyer led the Tigers with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Wymer added 10 points. Steve Morlan had nine points, five blocks and five boards.

For the Rebels, Elijah Cope and Carter Love scored nine points each.

Crestview (1-2) is at Newton Falls on Tuesday.

United 57, Jackson-Milton 40

NORTH JACKSON — United’s boys basketball team posted a 57-40 win over Jackson-Milton on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles are 3-1 and host Lisbon on Tuesday.
