Dukes pass Quakers
SALEM — Salem followed up a strong first quarter with a disastrous second quarter in a 61-45 loss to Marlington on Friday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.
The Quakers led 15-8 after the first quarter and then trailed 32-18 at half.
Salem is 2-7 and 0-4 in the EBC.
Marlington is 3-7 and 1-2.
Deontay Steele had 16 points, five rebounds and three steals. Jack Andres added six points. Ty Manion had five points, four rebounds and four assists.
Salem will host West Branch on Tuesday.

LISBON — Lisbon maintained a share of the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference lead with a 78-45 win over Leetonia on Friday.
The Blue Devils are 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the EOAC. Columbiana also owns a share of the league lead after a 54-41 win over Valley Christian on Friday.
AJ Ramgeet led the Devils with 23 points, six assists and five steals. Blaine Barnes chipped in 18 points, five assists and four steals. Aidan Ramgeet had 16 points, and four steals.
For Leetonia (3-8, 2-5), Dylan Johns had 13 points, while Jason King added 12 points.
Lisbon won the jayvee game, 27-15. Mason Jones had nine points for Lisbon, while Adam Hunter had seven points for Leetonia.
Lisbon will be at Southern on Tuesday.
Leetonia hosts Valley on Tuesday.

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine won its first game of the season and snapped a 10-game losing streak by topping Southern Local 75-40 on Friday.
Drew Bycroft had 17 points, four assists, four steals and four blocks for the winners, 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.
Michael Chestnut had 16 points, four steals and three assists. RJ May had 13 points, four assists and four steals. Clark Rutledge added nine points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kealin Simon had seven points, seven rebounds and four steals.
East Palestine is at Wellsville on Tuesday.
Southern is 1-9 and 0-7. For the Indians, Mason Pitts had 11 points. Aiden Davis had seven rebounds.
The Indians are at Conotton Valley on Saturday.

HANOVERTON — Wellsville shook up the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference standings with a 63-54 win over United on Friday.
Wellsville moved to 4-8 overall and 4-3 in the EOAC. United, which came into the game in second place, fell to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the league.
Darnell Roe had a career-high 30 points — including 14 in the third quarter — for the Tigers. He added five steals.
Austin Adkins had 12 points and five steals. Jeron Jackson added 11 points and six assists.
Wellsville will host East Palestine on Tuesday.
Jason Pratt scored 14 points for the Eagles, while Kota Shasteen had 13 points.
United hosts Columbiana on Tuesday.
Wellsville won the jayvee portion, 48-43. Eric Dowling had 18 points for the Tigers. Ayden Bradley had 18 points for the Eagles.
