HANOVERTON — Columbiana has made things interesting in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference baseball race. Van Lith struggled after being drafted with the No. 11 overall pick. She averaged 3.5 points in 29 games following a standout career at Louisville, LSU and TCU. AUSTINTOWN — Salem’s girls track team had a field day on Saturday at the 45th Optimist meet at Austintown Fitch Falcon Stadium. The Quakers won three of the four field events with Madolyn Gorby taking top honors in the high jump (5 feet 2 inches), Chaya Murray in the long jump (15-11) and Maddy Andres in the shot put (36-8 1/4). Rebels bring back former coach

COLUMBIANA — As the Crestview Local Schools community turns the page into a new era, the Rebels are turning to an old friend to create some excitement in the boys basketball program. On Thursday, veteran coach Herman Miller, 59, was told he will once again lead the Rebels for the first time since 2017. Miller had served as the Rebel freshman coach the last two seasons under Lou Mateo, who resigned after the season. Before that he was the junior varsity coach under Rick Gates for three seasons.
