Mr. and Mrs. Edwin R. Sheen honored for golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin R. Sheen of 1943 Depot Road, Salem, were honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party on Aug. 4 at the First Christian Church. The former Patricia Ann Duriga and Mr. Sheen were married on Aug. 9, 1968, by the Rev. Harold Deitch of the church. The couple’s children are Theresa Howell of Sebring, Victoria Zubaty and Christopher Sheen of Salem and Nicholas Sheen of South Korea. Evanoffs celebrate golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Evanoff of Salem recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a five-day family vacation to Deep Creek Lake, Md. The former Linda Sue Slagle and Mr. Evanoff were married on Aug. 17, 1968, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem. Father Francis Zappitelli officiated. Mr. Evanoff is a retired iron worker. Mr. and Mrs. John Sanor mark 50 years of marriage

Salem residents John and Joann Sanor recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a camping trip with their family. The former Joann Simon and John Sanor were married on Aug. 3, 1968, at the United Church of Christ in Unity by the Rev. Bowman. Mr. and Mrs. Sanor are retired from dairy farming and currently grain farm. The Sanors have two daughters, Jill (Brad) Amos of Salem and Jody (Cormac) Irwin of Big Prairie. They also have five granddaughters, Megan, Rachel, Anna, Laura and Sarah.

LISBON — Chandor D. Pettress, 25, Youngstown, was found guilty of obstructing official business and harassing a police dog in a trial directly to Columbiana County Municipal Court Judge Mark Frost on Wednesday. Pettress was fined $300 and sentenced to 90 days in jail. Pettress failed to comply with orders of police while they were hiding inside an apartment during an investigation.
