LISBON —The Supreme Court of Ohio recently passed on hearing a case regarding a proposed annexation on Beechwood Road, with the city of Salem losing its attempt to challenge the denial of the annexation the city required for water and sewer service. “Upon consideration of the jurisdictional memoranda filed in this case, the court declines to accept jurisdiction of the appeal,” the one-line entry signed by Chief Justice Sharon L. Lake to River Economic Development is asking employers in Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties to participate in a comprehensive wage and benefit survey designed to give the region’s businesses a clearer picture of local compensation trends. Lisbon school board approves salary increases for classified staff

LISBON — Classified workers in the Lisbon school district recently received the same salary increases as the teachers, with a 3% wage increase starting July 1, 2026, a 2.5% wage increase the following year and then another 3% wage increase starting July 1, 2028. Classified personnel include the secretaries, bus drivers, custodians, aides and cooks.
