Shreyas Baldevbhai Chaudhary, 25, of Gandhinagar, India, pleaded guilty last week in U.S. District Court in Cleveland to one count of money laundering conspiracy for a financial scam involving older adults across the United States, including a 77-year-old Salem man. Niles man pleads not guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide

LISBON —A Niles man accused of causing the 2025 death of a Tennessee woman in a two-vehicle crash last fall entered a not guilty plea to aggravated vehicular homicide during arraignment Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. Michael James Scheuring, 39, appeared before Judge Megan Bickerton while accompanied by his defense attorney, Rhys Cartwright-Jones, for the third-degree felony. COLUMBIANA — A local veterans organization is seeking candidates to receive special community awards. The Forty and Eight Society (40&8) is bringing back the Special Community Awards Program following a hiatus, Club Secretary Crystal Siembida-Boggs said. “The 40&8 really wants to be more involved with the community and for the community to understand what the 40&8 is all about,” she said.
