Columbiana School District enters Phase II of athletic facilities project

COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana School District has entered Phase II of its Athletic Facilities Plan and that includes the redesign of the Cross Country course. District Superintendent Dr. Don Mook said the course redesign is due to the changes that are happening at the Ward athletic complex. “The new design is similar, but has some subtle changes based on where new ballfields will be going in,” Mook said. Crestview school board hires new maintenance supervisor

COLUMBIANA — A new maintenance supervisor has been hired for the Crestview Local School District. The board of education approved giving Evan Schneider a two-year limited administrative contract and fringe benefit packages during the July regular meeting. Schneider was one of many who applied for the position that was vacated by Jay Radman upon his recent retirement. As part of his contract Schneider will make $73,343 a year as maintenance supervisor. Troopers arrest suspect after stolen vehicle chase

BEAVER TWP. (WKBN) – An East Liverpool man is facing felony charges after a reported police chase in a stolen vehicle. A woman called 911 just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday to report that she had been assaulted and her vehicle was stolen in Beaver Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Troopers located the stolen vehicle shortly after that and attempted to pull it over, but reported that the driver refused to stop, leading them on a chase. Second-half real estate tax bills now due Oct. 2

LISBON — Columbiana County property owners now have until Oct. 2 to pay their second-half real estate tax bills, with the bills expected to be mailed out two weeks from this coming Monday, in mid-August. Columbiana County Commissioner Bryan A. West Branch board approves bids for Knox Elementary roof work

BELOIT — The West Branch Board of Education approved bids for roofing work at Knox Elementary in its July meeting. The board of education unanimously approved a $181,000 bid from Skyline Roofing and another $189,550 bid from Aztec Roofing.
