LISBON — A woman accused of threatening to blow up the Leetonia K-12 school in January was openly indicted this week for misdemeanor aggravated menacing, with her case transferred back to Columbiana County Municipal Court. Erin M. McGuire, 37, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, was originally charged with a first-degree felony of making terrorist threats in county Municipal Court, with the case bound over for consideration by the county Grand Jury. Salem council approves towing service rules

SALEM - City council approved a new ordinance regarding vehicle towing and impound services in its meeting Tuesday. First discussed in March 31 meeting of the rules and ordinances committee, the ordinance establishes standards for vehicle towing services and impound lots operating within city limits, and establishes a rotation for tow companies to be utilized by the police department, like the one already used by the city for ambulance companies. Columbiana County commissioners extend bid opening for sewer project

LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners on Wednesday extended the bid opening date for the village of Hanoverton sewer connection project to May 27, giving engineer’s office personnel more time to talk with potential bidders about what’s expected in their bids.
