Those interested in belonging to the group created to connect and read more books may contact East Liverpool Public Library or The Pear Tree Shop for information. Their first meeting will be June 6.
The guest speaker was Youngstown State University Professor Emeritus Dr. Regina Rees. Her topic was “The Little Red School House,” which is in Poland. Rees provided a power point presentation illustrating the school and citing the challenges in teaching in the 1800s. Rees noted that teachers earned an annual salary of $190.
Members donated needed products to the Christina House for Domestic Violence Victims. CCRTA liaison and a volunteer with the Christina House, Lisa Wycoff, accepted the items.
The 50/50 winner was Cindy Collins and Sherry Seachrist was selected for the free meal at the next meeting, which will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 17.
