SALEM — The city of Salem is still looking to secure a supplier for road salt. During the city council’s meeting Tuesday, it voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing City Service Safety Director Joe Cappuzzello to enter into a contract for the purchase of road salt. Toronto woman pleads guilty to having knife at Utica Shale Academy

LISBON — A woman accused of having a knife on the grounds of the Utica Shale Academy school in Salineville earlier this year admitted her guilt Thursday. Britania B. Brown, 45, Toronto, pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance in a school safety zone, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having the knife out in the school parking lot on Jan. 14. Crestview kicks off school year with renewed excitement

COLUMBIANA — The Crestview Local School district kicked off its first day of school on Thursday, and District Superintendent Dan Hill said he is excited for the new school year.
