Quakertown Super Kids to mark 20 years Saturday

SALEM — Quakertown Super Kids will be celebrating 20 years of soap box racing in Salem at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The derby will be held on Broadway Avenue, beginning in front of city hall. The race is for special needs children. The children are the racers; they are helped out by Ghost Drivers who control the double seater cars. All cars have been built over the years by service and nonprofit organizations. It is free for participants; everything needed is provided by sponsors. Revamped county park board begins reorganization

LISBON — The new Columbiana County Park District Board set new meeting dates, hired a new maintenance worker, elected a new chairman and vice chairman, discussed finances and agreed to request a legal opinion related to a board member also serving on Friends of the Park. Salem health department preparing for Health Resource Fair

SALEM — The health department is preparing for its annual Health Resource Fair in June. Health Commissioner Chelsea Clark told the health board that she is preparing for the department’s fifth annual health fair at Waterworth Memorial Park on June 20 at the board’s May meeting.
