SALEM
– Officers responded to a Cedar Street home at 5 p.m. Saturday after a resident sounded a medical assist alarm, then did not reply to subsequent telephone calls. The officers entered the home and found the resident who said she was okay, but needed assistance. Another resident was found asleep in another room and promptly provided assistance upon waking.
– A Lexington Avenue resident reported at 5:50 p.m. Saturday that her wallet was stolen from out her purse sometime earlier that day in the 400 block of Continental Drive.
– Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of East Seventh Street at 6:58 p.m. Saturday and found it to be a verbal dispute regarding a personal issue. Both individuals agreed to stay away from each other.
– An officer responded to a 100 block Railroad Road Street business at 7:35 p.m. Saturday where an employee reported two individuals had been bowling and left without paying, then refused to talk with the employee via telephone. Officers also were unable to contact the individuals via telephone or in person. The individuals eventually contact the police department and said they did not know the bill had not been paid and promised to take care of it the next day.
– A South Lundy Avenue resident reported on station at 9 p.m. Saturday that he believed he was being followed by a vehicle, the driver of which was flashing their brights at him, while he was driving. He said he stopped and confronted the person. An officer advised him against doing such in the future.
– Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of Bank Street at 9:14 p.m. Saturday and found that the resident and his girlfriend had had a verbal argument. They agreed to separate for the evening.

SALEM
– Police responded to a one-vehicle crash in the 100 block of North Broadway Avenue at 2:07 p.m. Friday in which Steven G. Toohey, Massillon, was eastbound on Sugar Tree Alley and attempted a right turn, striking a cement pole, causing damage to the vehicle and rendering it immobile.
– A West Wilson Street resident reported at 3:56 p.m. Friday that his juvenile daughter was being harassed.
– An East State Street resident reported at 4:43 p.m. Friday that a man she knows has been frequently contacting her despite being told to stop and had even shown up at her job earlier that day for no apparent reason.
– Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 7:29 p.m. Friday in reference to people possibly on the roof of a business, but were unable to find anyone on the roof.
– Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in a parking lot in the 2200 East State Street at 9:04 p.m. Friday and spoke with an individual who said he was cleaning out the interior of his vehicle.
– Tarel A. Barnette, 30, Austintown, was charged with possession of marijuana after officers responded to a report of several people smoking marijuana in a vehicle in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:56 p.m. Friday.
– A West Fifth Street resident reported a domestic dispute with his adult son at 11:29 p.m. Friday, however both individuals gave conflicting stories. They were told to stay away from each other for the remainder of the night.
– An officer responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of East State Street at 1:37 a.m. Saturday and found two individuals who said they were just talking after work.
Police responded to a report of someone lying on the ground in the 100 block of West Wilson Street at 1:48 a.m. Saturday. He was found to be intoxicated and given a courtesy ride home.
– Shawn A. Clemens, 42, 2101 Monroe Ave. #5, Salem, was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief after an officer responded to an East State Street business at 4:50 a.m. Saturday where he reportedly entered the store several times that night, each time selecting items for which he could not pay and took a football out of a package, writing all over it with a pen.
– Officers responded to the 1100 block of Short Avenue at 5:46 a.m. Saturday for a report of a vehicle idling for over half an hour with someone sleeping inside. The person inside said he was waiting for a friend to come home.
Columbiana
– A caller reported at 2:27 a.m. Friday that a suspicious vehicle was seen at Duke and Duchess gas station. According to the caller, a male exited the vehicle and walked toward Delux Motors. Officers found nothing at the scene.
-Reanne Cutright, called at 9:21 a.m. Friday that police officers check on her boyfriend Kevin Kirby, West Railroad Avenue, who sent text messages about harming himself. Kirby was transported to the hospital.
-A Sunoco employee reported at 7 p.m. Friday that a red pickup truck almost hit multiple cars in the parking lot. When police investigated, they found the driver, Nathan Huk with advanced fatigue. Arrangements were made for someone to pick him up.
-George Gilbert Sr., Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension at the corner of Duquesne and Fairfield at 11:04 p.m. Friday.

PERRY TWP.
– At 5:45 p.m. Thursday, police received a report by a complainant in the 900 block of Carriage Hill Drive regarding an unauthorized credit card charge for $21986. After speaking with the card company the card was canceled. The incident is under investigation.
– Police responded at the U.S. 62 and state Route 45 intersection where a southbound vehicle operated by Travis L. Thomas, 12205 Goshen Road, Salem, was stopped at the light and was struck from behind by the vehicle operated by Elizabeth M. Palumbo of Warren who failed to stop in the assured clear distance. Palumbo was cited for ACDA.
– At 3:45 p.m. Thursday, police received a complaint from a resident in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road regarding a family member residing with them. He requested information on where to go to obtain a protection order or how to evict the family member and he was provided with the proper agencies.
– Police and EMTs responded to the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 8:31 p.m. Wednesday for a medical call. Police stood by while a female was transported to the hospital.
SALEM
– Police responded to the 400 block of East Third Street at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday where the complainant advised a known person was in the residence earlier in the day. The incident is under investigation.
– At 11:45 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive for a well-being check of a child and no one answered. Police said they would try to make contact later in the day.
– At 10:53 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 900 block of Liberty Street where a woman said a known female left a harassing note on her vehicle and made several harassing phone calls and wanted it documented.
– A complainant from the 900 block of Liberty Street was on station at 2:22 p.m. Thursday with a tan Rampage bike that was found in his front yard. It will be kept at the station until the owner is located.
– At 8:47 a.m. Thursday, police received a call from business in the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue that a man was yelling about being plowed in and unable to get his vehicle out from across from the business. The complainant said she tried to explain to the person whom she believes resides in a downstair’s apartment. She wanted documentation.
– At 9:53 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 900 block of Liberty Street where the complainant advised a bike was taken from the back porch. The incident is under investigation.
– At 5:10 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 800 block of East Fifth Street where the complainant advised a purse was stolen from her vehicle. The incident is under investigation.
– At 4:24 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 400 block of Aetna Avenue where the complainant advised that someone used her name and address to order an item online. She was advised of the options.
COLUMBIANA
– A caller reported there were two men standing on a table and taking photographs at the laundromat on South Main Street at 12:21 a.m. Thursday. Police arrived and determined the men were working on some sort of project.
– Police went to Park Court apartments at 1 p.m. Thursday to serve an arrest warrant issued out of Loudonville but learned the suspect they were looking for no longer lived there.
LISBON
– Police learned that a Shawn Clemens was at the Columbiana County Courthouse looking for a woman named “Twitch” at 2:47 a.m. Thursday. Police arrived and spoke to Clemens, who said he had a bad feeling about Twitch but did not know where she lived but to help her get some freedom. Clemens said he met her earlier in the day at a Salem tattoo shop but he did not know where she lived. Police said there was nothing they could do without more information.
– A clerk at the Circle K reported Shawn Clemens was there harassing customers and asking them for money at 3:13 a.m. Thursday. Clemens had begun asking customers for money after his card was rejected. He was told he could not be harassing customers and to leave, which he did.
– Krista Keyes, West High Street, reported that on Feb. 14 she was involved in a dispute over property taken from her residence while she was gone.
– Lindsay Combs, East Washington Street, reported a drunken man stumbled onto her porch at 11:11 p.m.Wednesday but left after being told to move along. Police searched the area but did not find him.

– William G. Wildman, Clewell Drive, Guilford Lake, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Saltwell Road on Friday. Tammy L. Richards, same address, was also cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Saltwell Road for an equipment violation.

– Police responded at 7:23 a.m. Thursday to the 1200 block of East 10th Street for an alarm drop. The homeowner said she forgot to shut the alarm off.
– An audible alarm was reported at 5:11 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Continental Drive where a medical alarm was going off in one of the apartments in the building. The male resident said he must have accidentally set it off. He did not need medical attention.
– A Perry Township police officer at 1:20 a.m. Thursday reported a silver vehicle drive down the driveway to a closed business on South Lincoln Avenue near the railroad crossing and then turn its lights off. Officers responded and located the vehicle parked near a camper, making contact with a man who said he was staying in the camper on property belonging to a friend who lives in a house to the east of the location in the 1600 block of Lincoln. He also said the business knows he uses the driveway just to access the back of his friend’s property.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of East Pershing Street. The caller said the male in the vehicle said he was looking for a friend, then the vehicle left and turned down Monroe Street. Officers checked the area, but did not find the vehicle.
– John Zamora, of the 500 block of East Third Street, reported at 9:01 p.m. Wednesday that someone broke the window to his garage with a brick. The incident is under investigation.
– A man came to the police station at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday to speak with an officer about a theft. It was found a theft had not occurred.
– Police responded to the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and East State Street after several complaints at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday about the traffic signal not working properly. An officer monitored the traffic signal through four cycles and saw it appeared to be an intermittent malfunction resulting in the northbound traffic light remaining red in spite of numerous cars stopped in the northbound traffic lane. The signal appeared to need adjusting. The city electrician was being advised.
– A man called at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday to report an ex-employee had been driving past his old place of employment. The incident will be documented.
– Criminal trespassing was reported at 3:16 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of East Third Street. The incident was under investigation.
– Solicitors were reported in the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue at 2:56 p.m. Wednesday. No one was found.
-A line was reported down on East Pershing Street between South Lundy Avenue and Broadway at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday. Officers and the fire department blocked the street and Ohio Edison tied off the line until AT&T could make repairs.
– A vehicle backing out of a parking lot behind a residence at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue struck a dumpster at an angle at the veterinary clinic property. The passenger in the vehicle didn’t think the dumpster should be at an angle and pushed it back, striking the building. There was no damage to the building or dumpster, with minor damage to the vehicle. The owner/manager of the business was going to see if the dumpster can be placed differently.
– Sunnie Hoffman, of the 200 block of North Howard Avenue, reported at 11 a.m. Wednesday that an unknown vehicle caused damage to her fence. Tire tracks appeared to show a vehicle traveling westbound on the unnamed alley slid into the fence. She believed the damage occurred last Saturday.
– A man from Canterbury Lane reported at 9:56 a.m. Wednesday that a Columbiana school bus failed to stop at a posted stop sign at Sharp and West Wilson Street Wednesday morning, causing him to take defensive measures to not get hit. The incident will be investigated.
– A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 8:59 a.m. Wednesday that the driver of a silver four-door Ford truck left without paying for $54.83 worth of gasoline.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 8:58 a.m. Wednesday parked in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue for a week or more. A 48-hour limit notice was placed on the vehicle.
– A man in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday that he had filed a theft report on Nov. 28, 2015 for his laptop computer and now he thinks he may know who took it. A female friend was the only one who had been there to visit him. He also said other items have come up missing. An officer advised the police would look into the situation.
– City police assisted Perry Township Police with a residential alarm at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, assisting to check the interior, with nothing further needed.
COLUMBIANA
– Police arrested Summer Alderman, 37, North Main Street, on a warrant out of Mahoning County at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday.
– Police were called to a private-property accident in the Rite Aid parking lot at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday, but the persons involved declined to file a report.
POLICE REPORTS
SALEM
– Police responded at 7:29 a.m. Wednesday to BH Tire & Service, 909 W. State St., for a report of a disabled vehicle along Dodge Drive blocking the bay door of the business. The owner had left a note on the vehicle advising the vehicle broke down and he would return in the morning to move it. A spokesman for the business said the owner could push the vehicle into the lot but he needed it moved soon to have access to his garage to conduct business. Contact was being attempted with the vehicle owner.
– An officer on patrol at 2:01 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Continental Drive noticed a vehicle parked in an aisle at the car dealership. Upon checking, the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. The officer secured the vehicle and dropped the keys in the key drop box.
– An officer spoke with two people at the police station at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday regarding a dispute that occurred earlier in the day. A man reported he yelled at a vehicle after mistaking the driver for a friend. The driver of the vehicle reportedly followed them to a stop sign and exited the vehicle brandishing a knife. The incident is under investigation.
– A 16-year-old Salem male was cited for improper backing after backing the vehicle he was driving into a legally parked vehicle on Carole Drive at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday. The parked vehicle belonged to Trent Frederick of Carole Drive.
– KLG Ambulance requested assistance at 8:21 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Monroe Street with a combative patient who had ingested medication with intent to self-harm and was refusing transport. Several caretakers were present trying to get the person to go unsuccessfully. Officers assisted the caretakers. The fire department responded and the person was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– Possible animal neglect was reported at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West 10th Street where a woman said dogs could be heard barking from a residence and neighbors had not seen anyone in or out. Officers checked the residence and were able to see dogs from a window. They appeared healthy with no obvious ailments. Dispatch was able to reach the resident by phone and she said she’s living in the home. The dogs are not abandoned.
– Police were requested to respond to Salem Regional Medical Center at 3:39 p.m. Tuesday to help Mahoning County Juvenile Probation, who had an active arrest warrant for a male juvenile who was there. They asked Salem Police to hold the boy after his release from the hospital until someone from their department could retrieve him. The male juvenile was released from the hospital, taken into custody and taken to the Salem police station until he was picked up by Mahoning County probation.
– An anonymous caller at 3:03 p.m. Tuesday reported kids throwing things at each other and yelling at each other in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Sixth Street. Officers responded and juveniles appeared to be friends who had just divided up at the intersection and were going their separate ways in a couple groups walking and not causing any disturbance.
– A man in the 200 block of Hawley Avenue was reported throwing grass and dirt in the road at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday. Police determined he was cleaning up his yard.
PERRY TWP.
– Cody Cameron, 22, of Salem, was cited for driving under suspension and failing to dim high beams for oncoming traffic after a traffic stop at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of U.S. Route 62. The vehicle was towed from the scene with no hold since it didn’t belong to the driver.
– A township officer on patrol at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday saw a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a traffic stop in the area of Depot Road/Stewart Road and stopped to assist, staying for a search of the vehicle then clearing from the scene.
– A resident from the 700 block of Heritage Lane reported at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday that she received a letter from the IRS advising an unknown person had attempted to use her personal information to e-file taxes. She’s currently in contact with a representative from the state of Ohio who advised her to file a police report.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– An officer responded to West Branch High School at 9:52 p.m. Feb. 15 in reference to a male subject who had stabbed himself in the chest and fled on foot. The individual was located and transported by Beloit EMS to an area hospital.
– An officer responded to the area of Dogwood Drive in Beloit at 11:20 p.m. Feb. 16 in reference to loose dogs. The owners were located and dogs returned.
– An officer responded to an 11000 block state Route 45 home at 9:31 a.m. Feb. 18 in reference to a suspicious envelope or letter.
– Angela L. Willochell, 42, Malvern, was cited for driving under suspension and speed following a traffic stop on state Route 14 near Seacrist Road at 1:13 p.m. Feb. 18.
– An officer responded to a home at Colonial Villa at 8:16 p.m. Feb. 18 to talk to a resident about a telephone harassment report.
– An officer responded to a Fifth Street, Beloit, home at 8:20 p.m. Feb. 20 in reference to a fight in progress involving a knife. An investigation revealed nothing physical occurred.
– An officer responded to Main Street, Beloit, home at 8:48 p.m. Feb. 20 in reference to a domestic dispute and determined it to be verbal only.
COLUMBIANA
– A caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle at the Dairy Queen at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday, and police determined there was no problem after checking with the person.
LISBON
-Police were called to a home on West Washington Street at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in regard to a family interfering with an ambulance crew trying to stabilize and transport a patient to a local hospital. The family also wanted another ambulance service. The situation had calmed down by the time police arrived, and the officers remained until the patient was transported.
-A man trying to make his voice sound as if he was a female reported there was a fight in the Pondi’s parking lot at 12:51 a.m. Wednesday. No one was there by the time police arrived.
-Scott Rudder, 52, Lincoln Way, was in the police department interrogation room while being booked on another charge at 11:30 p.m. Saturday when he reportedly threatened Lt. John Hancock, officers Jason Sletvold and David Hilliard, and Corey Libert. Rudder was then told that felony charges would be filed against him.
– Dale Hood, East Washington Street, reported a semi-truck drove down the street at 10 a.m. Tuesday and tore down some lines from a utility pole.
– A caller reported at 12:46 p.m. Monday a man had been standing in the middle of East Lincoln Way wearing only a sweater and underwear. The man, who said he waiting for the mail, was found to be wearing shorts but no shoes. When told a caller was concerned he might be cold, the man said he was fine. Police told the man he might want to put some shoes on, though, which is what he did.
-A clerk at the Valley View convenience store reported a man came into the store at 7:48 p.m. Monday and purchased some items before leaving. The clerk then noticed he was putting window washer fluid in his vehicle that was not among his purchased items and wrote down his license plate number, which she gave to police.
– Kevin A. Criss, 47, West Sixth Street, East Liverpool, was charged with disorderly conduct early Wednesday morning after reportedly causing problems at the Steel Trolley Diner by talking to himself and throwing his hands in the air. Police arrived and told Criss that management wanted him to leave but he refused, which is when he was arrested.

SALEM
– A caller at 9:06 a.m. Tuesday reported the front bumper of her vehicle was damaged while parked in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street Monday afternoon.
– Police responded at 7:59 a.m. Tuesday to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue for an elderly man who had fallen and needed medical attention. KLG transported him to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– An officer at 6:56 a.m. Tuesday found a license plate laying on the side of the street in the 100 block of West Second Street. The plate was secured and the owner contacted.
– A woman in the 500 block of Cherry Street reported at 3:04 a.m. Tuesday that her son’s ex-girlfriend called and made threats towards the family. Officers had dealt with both parties earlier in the evening. They were told again to cease their actions.
– Police were called at 2:34 a.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of Rose Avenue for a domestic in progress. A woman said her ex-boyfriend entered her vehicle while they were talking and took her keys, then ran northbound to the 200 block. He told officers he did not take the keys. Both said the argument was over relationship issues. The keys were not located and both went their separate ways.
– An officer on patrol at Stone Castle Trail at 9:46 p.m. Monday saw a vehicle with the door ajar parked next to a residence under construction and saw lights on inside the residence. Upon checking the residence, the door was found open and a contractor was working inside. All was in order.
– Roger Mullet, 28, of 279 W. Fourth St., was taken into custody after turning himself in at the police station at 8:37 p.m. Monday on an active warrant for failure to appear on an unauthorized plate charge. He was turned over to a Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
– A wallet was recovered at 7:15 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue after being left at Sparkle Market. Police attempted to contact the owner but the attempt was unsuccessful. The wallet was placed in the police lost and found.
– Greg Hammond, of the 400 block of West Fifth Street, reported at 6:30 p.m. Monday that someone egged his vehicle overnight while it was parked in his driveway.
– Loud music was reported at 4:19 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of East Third Street. Police found the music was coming from a vehicle parked at the rear of the residence. The owner was advised.
-Officers responded to the Salem News parking lot on East Second Street at 4:11 p.m. Monday and spoke with a woman who reported she was involved in a crash at North Ellsworth Avenue and Second Street with a bicyclist who struck her vehicle and fled the scene. Her vehicle sustained a scratch.
– Timothy Colian, of the 400 block of West Sixth Street, reported at 2:41 p.m. Monday that someone threw an egg at his vehicle.
– A vehicle with plates that came back as stolen was towed from a Vine Avenue property at 2:38 p.m. Monday, to be held until the actual owner can prove ownership of the vehicle. The report said an officer on patrol ran the plate and discovered the stolen status and attempted to locate the owner of the vehicle at the apartment complex. The plates were confirmed as stolen and the back plate was seized. The front plate was in the front windshield. The vehicle was ordered towed and it was noted the plastic around the ignition was torn apart along with the radio pulled from the dash, possibly meaning it was stolen but it had not been entered as stolen. The front plate was obtained and some paperwork from inside. The last owner was found to be from Youngstown, with the title showing the owner to be a towing company in Boardman. A man called about “his car” being towed from Vine Avenue, but he had nothing showing him as owner of the car. The situation is under investigation.
– Police at 1:54 p.m. Monday spoke with a male on South Lincoln Avenue in reference to hitchhiking. He was advised of the consequences if he did it again. Police had been called to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Franklin for a suspicious man.
PERRY TWP.
– Police spoke with a man at 10:30 p.m. Monday in reference to a theft that occurred in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road. The incident is under investigation.
– Danny R. Boggs, 56, of 2200 Goshen Road, Salem, was taken into custody at his residence at 8:59 p.m. Monday on a felony warrant out of Columbiana County. He was handed over to a sheriff’s deputy and transported to the county jail.
– A resident in the 1900 block of Countryside Drive reported gunshots heard in the area at 5:35 p.m. Monday. Police checked the area, but had no contact with anyone shooting.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 5:10 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of Hearthside Drive. Police found the incident was verbal about household issues, with no physical violence or threats of violence occurring. The female half of the altercation left before police arrived.
LISBON
– A customer at Dunkin Donuts reported at 1:34 a.m. Saturday a woman was knocking on his car window asking for money to buy cigarettes. Police arrived to find a woman they knew from Apple Grove apartments walking up to vehicles, and she was told to go home, take her medication and go to sleep.
– Brandon M. Kupka, 19, West Lincoln Way, reported at 6:37 p.m. Saturday he just witnessed his neighbor on North Jefferson Street throw dog feces onto his vehicle.
– Police were called to a South Lincoln Avenue home at 9:47 a.m. Sunday, where a man was found not breathing. Police administered CPR until EMTs arrived and declared that he was dead. Resident Lisa Holt said she was letting the man stay there because he had nowhere else to live. Holt said he was prone to seizures but recovered after a half hour. She said she waited for this seizure to pass but fell asleep for a couple of hours, before waking to find he was not breathing.
– Police were called to a domestic dispute on West Lincoln Way at 6:36 p.m. Sunday, where they were met by Jasomine Lockett, who said she and her mother had gotten into a shoving match and that she wanted her mother to leave. Lockett’s grandmother showed up and ordered her daughter to get back to the homeless shelter on Maple Street, where she had been staying off and on.
– A caller reported a driver was asleep at the wheel in the middle of the road in the area of South Market and Washington streets at 7:25 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived to find Charles Gaines, who said he was tired after having worked all night and not eaten. There were no signs Gaines was impaired, and he was checked by EMTs called to the scene before leaving.
– Amy Sandoe, West Lincoln Way, reportedly backed into a vehicle driven by Kimberly Boston in the Circle K parking lot at 1:12 p.m. Monday.

– A caller at 9:06 a.m. Tuesday reported the front bumper of her vehicle was damaged while parked in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street Monday afternoon.
– Police responded at 7:59 a.m. Tuesday to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue for an elderly man who had fallen and needed medical attention. KLG transported him to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– An officer at 6:56 a.m. Tuesday found a license plate laying on the side of the street in the 100 block of West Second Street. The plate was secured and the owner contacted.
– A woman in the 500 block of Cherry Street reported at 3:04 a.m. Tuesday that her son’s ex-girlfriend called and made threats towards the family. Officers had dealt with both parties earlier in the evening. They were told again to cease their actions.
– Police were called at 2:34 a.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of Rose Avenue for a domestic in progress. A woman said her ex-boyfriend entered her vehicle while they were talking and took her keys, then ran northbound to the 200 block. He told officers he did not take the keys. Both said the argument was over relationship issues. The keys were not located and both went their separate ways.
– An officer on patrol at Stone Castle Trail at 9:46 p.m. Monday saw a vehicle with the door ajar parked next to a residence under construction and saw lights on inside the residence. Upon checking the residence, the door was found open and a contractor was working inside. All was in order.
– Roger Mullet, 28, of 279 W. Fourth St., was taken into custody after turning himself in at the police station at 8:37 p.m. Monday on an active warrant for failure to appear on an unauthorized plate charge. He was turned over to a Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
– A wallet was recovered at 7:15 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue after being left at Sparkle Market. Police attempted to contact the owner but the attempt was unsuccessful. The wallet was placed in the police lost and found.
– Greg Hammond, of the 400 block of West Fifth Street, reported at 6:30 p.m. Monday that someone egged his vehicle overnight while it was parked in his driveway.
– Loud music was reported at 4:19 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of East Third Street. Police found the music was coming from a vehicle parked at the rear of the residence. The owner was advised.
-Officers responded to the Salem News parking lot on East Second Street at 4:11 p.m. Monday and spoke with a woman who reported she was involved in a crash at North Ellsworth Avenue and Second Street with a bicyclist who struck her vehicle and fled the scene. Her vehicle sustained a scratch.
– Timothy Colian, of the 400 block of West Sixth Street, reported at 2:41 p.m. Monday that someone threw an egg at his vehicle.
– A vehicle with plates that came back as stolen was towed from a Vine Avenue property at 2:38 p.m. Monday, to be held until the actual owner can prove ownership of the vehicle. The report said an officer on patrol ran the plate and discovered the stolen status and attempted to locate the owner of the vehicle at the apartment complex. The plates were confirmed as stolen and the back plate was seized. The front plate was in the front windshield. The vehicle was ordered towed and it was noted the plastic around the ignition was torn apart along with the radio pulled from the dash, possibly meaning it was stolen but it had not been entered as stolen. The front plate was obtained and some paperwork from inside. The last owner was found to be from Youngstown, with the title showing the owner to be a towing company in Boardman. A man called about “his car” being towed from Vine Avenue, but he had nothing showing him as owner of the car. The situation is under investigation.
– Police at 1:54 p.m. Monday spoke with a male on South Lincoln Avenue in reference to hitchhiking. He was advised of the consequences if he did it again. Police had been called to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Franklin for a suspicious man.
PERRY TWP.
– Police spoke with a man at 10:30 p.m. Monday in reference to a theft that occurred in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road. The incident is under investigation.
– Danny R. Boggs, 56, of 2200 Goshen Road, Salem, was taken into custody at his residence at 8:59 p.m. Monday on a felony warrant out of Columbiana County. He was handed over to a sheriff’s deputy and transported to the county jail.
– A resident in the 1900 block of Countryside Drive reported gunshots heard in the area at 5:35 p.m. Monday. Police checked the area, but had no contact with anyone shooting.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 5:10 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of Hearthside Drive. Police found the incident was verbal about household issues, with no physical violence or threats of violence occurring. The female half of the altercation left before police arrived.
LISBON
– A customer at Dunkin Donuts reported at 1:34 a.m. Saturday a woman was knocking on his car window asking for money to buy cigarettes. Police arrived to find a woman they knew from Apple Grove apartments walking up to vehicles, and she was told to go home, take her medication and go to sleep.
– Brandon M. Kupka, 19, West Lincoln Way, reported at 6:37 p.m. Saturday he just witnessed his neighbor on North Jefferson Street throw dog feces onto his vehicle.
– Police were called to a South Lincoln Avenue home at 9:47 a.m. Sunday, where a man was found not breathing. Police administered CPR until EMTs arrived and declared that he was dead. Resident Lisa Holt said she was letting the man stay there because he had nowhere else to live. Holt said he was prone to seizures but recovered after a half hour. She said she waited for this seizure to pass but fell asleep for a couple of hours, before waking to find he was not breathing.
– Police were called to a domestic dispute on West Lincoln Way at 6:36 p.m. Sunday, where they were met by Jasomine Lockett, who said she and her mother had gotten into a shoving match and that she wanted her mother to leave. Lockett’s grandmother showed up and ordered her daughter to get back to the homeless shelter on Maple Street, where she had been staying off and on.
– A caller reported a driver was asleep at the wheel in the middle of the road in the area of South Market and Washington streets at 7:25 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived to find Charles Gaines, who said he was tired after having worked all night and not eaten. There were no signs Gaines was impaired, and he was checked by EMTs called to the scene before leaving.
– Amy Sandoe, West Lincoln Way, reportedly backed into a vehicle driven by Kimberly Boston in the Circle K parking lot at 1:12 p.m. Monday.

– Police were called to the Libert apartment on North Market Street at 10:49 p.m. Sunday after receiving complaints that Scott Rudder was making threats and banging on their doors and windows. Police arrived to find Rudder with an open pocket knife in his hand, which he threw down upon seeing the officer. After searching Rudder for other weapons, police began to question him and he was clearly intoxicated. Rudder, 52, who lives in the same apartment house, was charged with disorderly conduct after he reportedly refused to calm down. As police were arresting Rudder, Corey Libert came out of the apartment and punched him. Libert, 38, was arrested for assault.
COLUMBIANA
– The sheriff’s office requested at 12:28 a.m. Sunday police check on the welfare of a 17-year-old at a home on South Middle Street who had texted a friend saying he was planning to kill himself. Police were unable to make contact with anyone at the home but a woman later called and said there were no problems there.
– Allison Petrycki of Columbiana was southbound on Fairfield Avenue and approaching East Woodland Avenue at 8 p.m. Sunday when an unidentified pickup turned west in front of her and struck her vehicle and then continued on.

– A dog was reported at large in the 1000 block of West Perry Street at 12:18 p.m. Monday. The dog had been taken inside, but the owner was advised of the laws regarding loose dogs.
– An officer on patrol at 11:50 a.m. Monday saw a Jeep parked in the curb lawn in the 1800 block of Southeast Boulevard. A warning tag was left on the vehicle. A housing inspector and officer then talked with the driver and explained the ordinance to her and she was informing the resident. The Jeep was moved to the driveway.
– An officer stood by with a housing inspector while a Pontiac was towed from a back yard in the city by Sinsley’s Towing at 11:15 a.m. Monday.
– A domestic in progress was reported at 12:06 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of West 10th Street where a man said his girlfriend’s ex-husband was at the residence arguing with her. The female told police her ex-husband was never at the residence and she was arguing with the man. Both said it was only verbal, not physical. The female was given a ride to another residence in the city.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 5:44 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of West State Street. Nothing suspicious was observed.
– Police were called at 4:45 p.m. Sunday for an injured deer in a yard on Highland Avenue. An officer responded and saw a deer across the field near the back yard and it still moved quickly and disappeared into a wooded area with several others. The resident was told to call back if it returns.
– An officer on patrol in the Walmart parking lot at 4:24 p.m. Sunday was stopped by a person who alleged a reckless operator nearly struck his three children in the lot, describing a male driver in a PT Cruiser. The vehicle was located at Murphy USA and the driver said he was only going 5 mph and the kids ran into the middle of the lane and he was far away from them. The vehicle was a Chevy HHR, similar to a PT Cruiser. The driver was told to be careful in the lot because there are many children there.
– Matthew Backus, 28, of Knox School Road, Homeworth, was cited for reasonable control after the westbound vehicle he was driving on East Fourth Street went off the right side of the road and struck a tree in the curb lawn in the 600 block at 2:52 p.m. Sunday.
– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported at 11:18 a.m. Sunday that a male in a black SUV/Jeep left without paying for $16.49 worth of gasoline.
– An alarm drop was reported at 9:35 a.m. Sunday on South Broadway Avenue. The front door was found open. An officer checked the interior of the building and it appeared okay. The business was secured.
PERRY TWP.
– Police were called to the 400 block of Benton Road at 2:23 a.m. Sunday for a report of a fight, but nobody was found.
– A caller at 10:33 p.m. Saturday requested a well-being check of a female in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road, saying his daughter made comments about harming herself over the phone. Police made contact with the female and she said everything was fine. A family member arrived and was staying with the female for the night.
– An officer on patrol at 8:01 p.m. Saturday located two suspicious vehicles parked at the intersection of Egypt Road and the closed portion of East Pine Lake Road commonly called Cry Baby Bridge on the Internet. Two people were walking on the bridge and two others were inside one of the vehicles in the back seat. The people were identified and told the closed portion of the road beyond the gate was private property with posted no trespassing signs and they could be charged with criminal trespassing. One vehicle and driver was from Youngstown and the passenger from Struthers. The other vehicle and driver was from East Liverpool and the passenger from Salem. They were all given a warning and sent on their way.
– Robert McCluggage, 90, of West Pine Lake Road, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control after his northbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue was unable to stop for a northbound vehicle turning in front of him and went off the right side of the road to avoid the turning vehicle, striking and shearing a utility pole in the 1500 block at 3:18 p.m. Saturday. Township police were assisted at the scene by Salem Police, Salem Fire Department, Perry Township Fire Department, KLG Ambulance and First Energy. The vehicle was towed by Sinsley Towing.
– Chastity Lynn Lecorchick, 18, of Sebring, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control after the northbound vehicle she was driving at 7 p.m. Friday on North Lincoln Avenue near Old Farm Lane failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road, struck a road sign and continued into a field in the 1600 block. The operator claimed she was cut off after another vehicle passed her illegally. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the field by Davidson Towing.

– An unknown problem was reported at 1:49 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue where there was an open phone line and no one answering on the other end of the line. Police checked the area but didn’t find anyone.
– An officer at 1:27 a.m. Sunday found a license plate in the middle of East Pershing Street near Woodland Avenue. The plate was placed in the police lost and found.
– An officer at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in Centennial Park noticed a vehicle in the parking lot after hours, checked the vehicle and found it unoccupied and unsecured.
– A fight was reported at 12:55 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Flying Pig Saloon, 175 N. Ellsworth Ave., where a caller said someone ran into the business advising five unknown people were attacking a male. When officers arrived, all participants had left the area and couldn’t be located.
– Michael Brown, of the 800 block of Adams Avenue, reported at 12:33 a.m. Sunday his son was outside and heard water running at the rear of the residence. He found someone had recently stabbed about 15 holes in the above ground swimming pool on the property. The responding officer saw the stab marks and water running out of the pool. Brown had recently rented the home and the pool was already there when he moved in.
– Police responded at 10:28 p.m. Saturday to the 800 block of West State Street for a medical assist by the fire department. A person had fallen and hit their head on the ground. EMT Ambulance transported the person to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– An officer noticed at 10:27 p.m. Saturday that a concrete parking barrier had been dislodged from the edge of a parking lot in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue and was in the southbound lane of the street. The officer was able to move the barrier back out of the street.
– An audible alarm was reported at 9:28 p.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of East State Street at a closed business. The exterior of the building was secure.
– Loud persons were reported at 8:08 p.m. Saturday in the area of Cleveland Street and Hawley Avenue. Police located six people having a snowball fight and told them to keep the noise down.
– Suspicious persons were reported at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Park Avenue, but nobody was found.
– Grace Pearson, 89, of Cedar Street, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle on South Lundy Avenue stopped and attempted to turn east, colliding with a westbound vehicle driven by Harold Sylvester, 75, of South Lincoln Avenue, who had stopped before turning north onto South Lundy Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.
– An officer at 5:03 p.m. Saturday saw used tires in the road in the 200 block of Vine Avenue. The tires were moved to the curb lawn.
– Possible shots fired were reported at 4:33 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Eighth Street. Police checked the area and did not hear any disturbances.
– An anonymous caller reported at 3:56 p.m. Saturday that juveniles were jumping off piles of snow in the lot of a closed business in the 200 block of West State Street. Nobody was found.
– Police were called at 3:17 p.m. Saturday to the 1500 block of North Lincoln Avenue for a crash with injuries. They found the incident occurred in Perry Township. Township police were assisting with traffic control.
– Michael Moore, 49, of Federal Heights, Colo., was cited for reasonable control after the tractor trailer he was driving at 8:55 p.m. Friday traveled off the truck route onto East Pershing Street westbound when he attempted to turn right onto Penn Avenue. The trailer went up the curb and struck the fire hydrant, causing damage to the fire hydrant and functional damage to the trailer.

– Police were notified the fire department and KLG were responding to a lift assist at 11:41 a.m. Thursday and there were concerns the ambulance may not be able to get into driveway. Initially, police were told there was an irate woman in the driveway, but no irate woman was found. KLG had the female patient walk out of the home and get onto the cot, so no lift assist was needed either.

CENTER TOWNSHIP REPORTS
– While on patrol on Saturday, police saw a Chevy S-10 parked on the roadway in the area of 39086 Grant St. Police attempted to contact the owner, but were unsuccessful so Baker’s Towing removed the vehicle.
– Allen Davidson reported drug paraphernalia on the side of the road near Brookfield Avenue on state Route 45 on Saturday. Upon arrival, police found a baggie full of used syringes and other heroin paraphernalia. Police recovered and disposed of the contraband.
– Police responded on Saturday to the Frola Motel for a dispute. William Martin told police his brother, Scott Martin, stole some items that belonged to him. After speaking with both parties, the issue was found to be a civil matter. The sheriff’s office assisted.

Columbiana
– A Richards Avenue woman requested police explain how she can have a person removed from the home at 10:46 a.m. Friday.
– Rhonda Blazer, Columbiana, was eastbound on Pittsburgh Street, stopped for the stop sign and was attempting to cross South Elm Street at 12:29 p.m. Friday, when she was struck by Carrie Snyder, Columbiana. Snyder had stopped at the stop sign traveling north on South Elm Street. Snyder was cited with a stop sign violation.
– Police checked the area of East Salem Street at 1:12 p.m. Friday after someone reported a gas odor. Columbia Gas was notified.
– Carrie Bucci, West Salem Street, reported at 1:20 p.m. Friday she wanted someone charged with stalking and harassment because two people and a “negotiator” were yelling at her through the wall. When police arrived, she no longer wanted them there and she stated there were just voices in her mind.
– A motor vehicle accident with injuries was reported on state Route 164 near Arrowhead at 4:13 p.m. Friday. The accident was found to be in Beaver Township’s jurisdiction and they were notified. The fire department was sent to assist in extrication.
– A disabled vehicle was reported at 4:36 p.m. Friday on South Elm Street, just south of the railroad tracks. Police found someone making a delivery at a home, where the driveway was not plowed and so he parked in the street for a short time.
– Rebecca Jones, New Waterford, was attempting to exit the driveway from Dollar General and had stopped at Windjammer Drive at 10:43 a.m. Saturday. A black SUV, northbound on Windjammer Drive, left the roadway suddenly and sideswiped the front of Jones’ bumper. The SUV then continued through the grass, entered the roadway on South Bayshore Drive, paused briefly and then left the scene.
– Connie Dattilio, North Vine Street, reported at 2:25 p.m. Saturday an assault had happened the night before. The matter is under investigation.
-John Hatala, Fairfield Avenue, reported a line down in his yard at 5:32 p.m. Saturday. The electric department was notified, but they determined it was a telephone line.
– A large hole was reported behind Rocky’s Gym, East Park Avenue, at 5:39 p.m. Saturday. Police checked and notified the business, who said they would call the property owner to see what he wanted to do. The street department was also called out to check it.
– Someone reported three children were running through yards and throwing snowballs at parked cars in the 200 block of South Main Street at 8:54 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area, but were unable to find anyone.

SALEM REPORTS
– Police responded to the area of East Pershing Street and Ohio Avenue at 9:10 a.m. Saturday after a caller reported her power out and several other callers reported the traffic light out in both directions. Officers found Ohio Edison already on the scene checking for the outage. Power was restored in a half hour with the traffic light functioning properly.
– An officer on patrol at 7:22 a.m. Saturday saw a large sink hole on Filbert Avenue just south of East Wilson Street. A road flare was placed by the hole and the street department was contacted to correct the problem.
– A female on Benton Road called at 6:56 a.m. Saturday to file a harassment report in reference to a male known to her. She didn’t want the person contacted.
– Police were called at 5:02 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of West State Street for a male asleep in his vehicle. The man said he just got off work. He stopped at a business for a few things and fell asleep while trying to check something on his phone. He appeared to be fine and was returning home.
– Loud music was reported at 2:34 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Ohio Avenue. People inside the residence were told to turn the music down.
– Andrew Coleman, 30, of Continental Drive, was charged with reasonable control and operating a vehicle under the influence after his vehicle struck a telephone pole while attempting a right turn on Bentley Drive at Roosevelt Avenue at 1:28 a.m. Saturday. KLG and fire department first responders were called to the scene since the air bag deployed. Coleman signed a refusal for treatment.
– An open window was reported on a closed business at 11:45 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of East State Street. Officers checked the interior of the building and found it secure.
– A possible audible alarm was reported at 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of East State Street. No alarms could be heard and officers checked the perimeter of the building.
– A suspicious vehicle and person were reported at 11:17 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of East Fourth Street. Police made contact and the occupant said she pulled over so she could send several text messages on her phone. Officers didn’t witness any type of suspicious activity.
– Employees of a business in the 1400 block of Salem Parkway reported suspicious persons at 10:53 p.m. Friday. Two men had been seen attempting to steal scrap from the business and ran from the area after seeing employees. Police were unable to locate anyone who matched the description.
– An audible alarm was reported at 7:01 p.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Maple Street. Officers noticed footprints around the house and checked the exterior. A keyholder let them inside to check the interior also. Officers left without incident.
– Police responded to a parking complaint on Kennedy Drive at 4:10 p.m. Friday, but no parking violation was observed.
– Police were called to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:46 p.m. Friday for a removal request. Two men would not leave the establishment. Officers spoke with them and one left but the other one would not wake up. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance were called and he was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center. Both were told not to come back to the business.
– A woman in the 200 block of West 16th Street reported at 1:22 p.m. Friday that sometime overnight, someone took several of her prescription medications out of her vehicle.
– A man on Bethel Drive came to the police station at 12:22 p.m. Friday and reported his vehicle was towed when an unauthorized person used it without his knowledge and crashed it. He went to the towing company to get his wallet from the glove box and it was gone. He was unsure if the unauthorized person had taken it or not.
– A spokesman at McDonald’s, 1892 E. State St., reported at 11:40 a.m. Friday that a male was in the business a couple days ago and stood up on a bench seat to plug in his computer in a plug in the ceiling for that purpose. He hit a light fixture and was asked to be more careful not to break anything and became upset. The spokesman learned the male filed a complaint against the business for plugs being in an unsafe area, so the spokesman said he pulled them out and he’s going to city zoning for help in placing them in an easier place for customers. He found a note scribbled on a napkin which basically said he and his little helpers butts were grass and this person, the male, was called gravel. He wanted a report on file in case the male came in and tried to cause a problem over the plugs being gone.
– Larin Swanson, of Hanoverton, reported at 11:35 a.m. Friday that while exiting Huntingon Bank, he saw a Chevy Trailblazer pulling out of a parking space strike his vehicle and leave the parking lot.
– A woman on West 10th Street reported at 10:47 a.m. Friday that she needed an officer to stand by while she picked up her child from the ex-in-laws’ house. She was told she had to try first on her own and if there were any problems, bring all the paperwork to the department and officers can decide whether there’s any criminal activity involved or if it’s a civil matter.
– A license plate was found in a car wash bay in the 2200 block of East State Street at 10:11 a.m. Friday and turned over to police, who were attempting to locate the owner.
– Anna Marie Mayle, 23, of 1268 Cedar Ridge Apt. C, was taken into custody at 9:35 a.m. Friday at her residence on an active warrant from Columbiana County. She was processed and turned over to a deputy.
– Saddie Redmond, of state Route 154, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after her westbound vehicle on Southeast Boulevard stopped for the stop sign at Franklin and pulled out, getting struck by a northbound vehicle on Franklin driven by Nicole Phillips, of North Lima, at 9:03 a.m. Friday.
– An unruly juvenile was reported at 8:56 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of East Third Street. The juvenile was advised of the consequences of his actions and said he understood and went to school with his mother.

– Someone reported at 11:20 a.m. Thursday a large brown dog was acting aggressively and running loose in the alley by the fire department. Police checked but did not find the dog.
– Fred Welshhans, West Southern Avenue, reported at 11:19 a.m. Thursday his and his son’s mailboxes were knocked down by snow plows the other day. Police checked and found both boxes down, but they appeared to have been down due to the heavy snow, and were not knocked down by a snowplow.
– Michael Lyle, South Middle Street, reported at 11:35 a.m. Thursday he believes a man he knows is trespassing on his property to take pictures of his neighbor’s property. Lyle told police he did not see the man trespassing but believes he did from the angle of a picture the man took that Lyle obtained. Police attempted to contact the man in question but there was no answer. Police then told Lyle to call police if the man is trespassing on the property again and he would be warned for criminal trespass.
– Timothy Phillis, Hanoverton, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Main Street at 2:41 p.m. Thursday.
– Ron Harroff reported at 3 p.m. Thursday he backed into a neighbor’s fence at 333 Lisbon St. on Wednesday, causing slight damage to the fence.
– Josiah S. Chitwood, 35, Rogers, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 14 near Windjammer Drive at 5:39 p.m. Thursday.
– A woman reported at 9:26 p.m. Thursday there were two vehicles parked in Grape Alley that were making it difficult for local residents to get in and out. Police contacted the vehicle owners and they agreed to clear the alley.
PERRY TWP.
– Police responded to a possible crash in the 1800 block of state Route 344 at 4:27 p.m. Thursday and found that Arthur L. Garlough, Leetonia, stuck in the plowed snow alongside the roadway. Garlough said he was westbound when an eastbound vehicle came around the curve and drifted into his lane, causing him to enter the snow on the berm. There was no contact between the vehicles and the other vehicle did not stop. No citation was issued.
– Police responded to a report of an odor of burning marijuana in an apartment building in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 9:29 p.m. Thursday. An officer checked the hallways of both apartment buildings in the area, but did not detect any odor of burning marijuana nor was any contraband located.
– An officer responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 1:59 a.m. Friday where a woman was upset that the parking lot her apartment building had not been cleared of snow. She was told to contact her landlord since the parking lot is private property.
SALEM
– Officers responded to the 1200 block of Buckeye Avenue at 5:27 p.m. Thursday where a woman reported finding a suspicious object on the windshield of her vehicle. Officers found a small box and opened it, finding a handwritten note telling the woman to look in the woods. Officers searched the woods, but found nothing suspicious. The woman was told to contact the department if she has any further problems.
– A Jennings Avenue resident reported at 9:45 p.m. Thursday that she had received unwanted telephone calls from a company claiming they want to fix her computer. The resident was told the calls were a scam and to not give out any personal information.
– An officer responded to the area of the railroad crossing on South Ellsworth Avenue at 12:54 a.m. Friday for a report of two male individuals flagging down vehicles, but was unable to find anyone.
– Officers responded to an apartment building in the 400 block of Franklin Street at 1:30 a.m. Friday where a resident reported hearing a man and woman in a physical altercation in a neighboring apartment. The man and woman told officers that they had a verbal dispute, but that no physical violence occurred, however the woman said she had flipped over a coffee table while upset. The two people were told to separate for the night.

SALEM
– Police responded to a business in the 1100 block of Benton Road for a fire alarm at 2:12 a.m. Thursday, along with the fire department. No fire was found.
– An officer on patrol at 1:28 a.m. Thursday stopped for debris in the road on South Ellsworth Avenue and East Wilson Street. The debris was a block of wood with a rope attached. The wood was taken to the police station.
– A suspicious person was reported at 1:41 a.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. An officer with Perry Township Police said he was flagged down by another person and was advised of a female attempting to flag down cars. Officers located the female in the 900 block of Southeast Boulevard. The female said she was waving to a friend who passed her on the road and she was walking to an apartment complex. She was given a ride to the apartment complex due to the cold.
– A man from East 14th Street reported at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday that he found a small book bag in the road near Faith Chapel, off of Pershing Street. The bag contained children’s books and papers and was placed in the police lost and found.
– Officers responded at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday to a business in the 100 block of Continental Drive for a report of a strobe light flashing inside. The caller was concerned the light might be from an alarm system. Officers located the source of light, which was a utility vehicle parked inside. The strobe lights had been left activated. Nothing else was out of order.
– Employees of Family Dollar, 239 W. State St., reported a female customer at 7:27 p.m. Wednesday left without buying anything and triggered the merchandise alarm. A license plate was obtained and an officer contacted the registered owner and learned the identity of the female suspect. The officer will attempt to follow up with the suspect.
– Police responded at 7:16 p.m. Wednesday to 300 block of South Ellsworth Avenue where a woman reported a neighbor had thrown snow into the parking lot of the business. The neighbor was contacted and advised a plow truck pushed snow into his property so he threw it back.
– A possible intoxicated driver was reported at 7:09 p.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of East State Street. The vehicle was not found.
– A caller at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday reported unknown people tried to enter the residence in the 500 block of East Third Street by trying to pry open the rear door. Pry marks were seen by the deadbolt, but entry was not gained.
– Leanna Simmons, 30, of Old Coach Lane, was cited for failure to yield after she pulled from the Wendy’s parking lot and collided with a vehicle driven by Julie Citino, 45, of Orchard Bend Drive, who was turning east onto State Street from Giant Eagle at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday.
– A woman on Southeast Boulevard reported at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday that she was receiving unwanted texts and calls from her ex-boyfriend. She said the communications were over Valentine’s Day gifts she was given before the break-up. After going over several options, she decided she would return the gifts and have no further calls with the person.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– An officer responded to the 13000 block of Western Reserve Road at 1:36 p.m. Feb. 8 for a report of mailbox damage.
– A Smith Goshen Road resident reported someone had taken his tree stand and trail camera at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 10.
– Hiram Diaz, 49, 12012 Calla Road, Salem, was charged with a fourth-degree felony count of disrupting public service after an officer responded to his home at 11:28 a.m. Feb. 11 for an alarm drop. While en route, the officer was told that the home owner (Diaz) had reportedly been robbed at gun point but no longer wanted an officer. Upon arrival, Diaz told the officer the he was only joking and was not robbed at gun point.
– Ray L. Johnson, 37, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on U.S. route 62 north of Middletown Road at 6:48 a.m. Feb. 12 in which he was eastbound when he traveled off the roadway, striking a telephone pole. He was treated on scene for non life-threatening injuries.
– An officer investigated a report of a student stealing a laptop from the school at 1:29 p.m. Feb. 12.
– Cade Arden Neiser, 21, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash at state Route 534 and Middletown Road at 7:01 a.m. Feb. 13 in which he was eastbound and attempted a left turn when he traveled into the ditch. No injuries were reported.
– Renee Vitale Marta, 17, Alliance, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash 15000 block of U.S. Route 62 at 8:05 a.m. Feb. 13 in which she was westbound and traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a culvert.
– An officer responded to a noise complaint in the 12000 block of Calla Road at 6:02 p.m. Feb. 13 and advised the homeowners to turn down the noise.
– An officer responded to a state Route 45 home at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 14 where the resident reported his estranged wife against whom he has a protection order had called him two times that morning.
– Bonnie Jean Joing, 71, St. Paul, Minn., was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on state Route 534 just north of state Route 14 at 8:54 a.m. Monday in which she was northbound and turned into a ditch believing there was a driveway there. No injuries were reported.
– Rachael L. Mace, 47, Berlin Center, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 3:33 p.m. Monday on Fifth Street at Barber Street.
– Alicia Hervet, 25, Akron, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 15000 block of Calla Road at 4:11 p.m. Monday in which she was westbound and traveled left of center and off the roadway, striking several small trees before coming to a rest in the ditch. No injuries were reported.
– Zachary Lee Hall, 22, Beloit, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 8:10 p.m. Monday on Fifth Street at Church Street.
COLUMBIANA
– Dave Kissinger reported at 1:43 p.m. Wednesday he was assaulted at Ace Hardware by Kevin Roush. Police found that no actual assault occurred and told the men to stay way from each other.
– A Wind Rose Apartments woman reported at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday neighbors let their small black dog out several times a day and it wanders around and it poops in her yard all the time. Police warned Jessica Stephens, West Southern Avenue, for allowing her dog to roam free.
– Deborah Jessop, Beechwood Drive, requested at 10 p.m. Wednesday police drive past her house to make sure there were no problems. Police drove by and there were no problems.
LISBON
– A caller reported a vehicle was stuck on a tombstone at the cemetery at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday. Police spoke with cemetery workers, who said they could get the vehicle off the tombstone and would let police know if there was any damage. The 2015 Subaru, registered to Mary Gallo, North Beaver Street, was found to have fluid leaking from underneath.
– A clerk at the BP station reported having problems with an irate customer at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday. The clerk said a man and his dog were inside a parked vehicle sleeping, and there was a sign on the window saying the vehicle was out of gas. The woman knocked on the window to let them know they needed to move to make way for a snow plow, and the man began yelling at her. The clerk told him she was calling police, so he went to get some gas, but the pump would not take his credit card.

PERRY TWP.
– An Ohio Department of Transportation driver reported at 7:29 p.m. Tuesday that there was a large mound of snow on the road, allegedly plowed from a private drive in the 1200 block of West State Street. The officer observed the snow was not a significant road hazard and spoke with the homeowner, who denied the snow being from there. The officer educated the homeowner on the consequences of plowing debris on the roadway.
– Township and Salem city police responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street for a complaint about a runaway juvenile from Youngstown at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday. Police attempted to make contact at the residence, but the people inside refused to come to the door. Police were then notified the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office had already arrested the runaway at a different location.
– Police responded at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday to the area of Snyder Road, west of South Lincoln Avenue, for a report of a semi tractor trailer in the middle of the road with the driver slumped over the wheel. An officer spoke with the driver and determined he had no medical condition. He said he lost his air brakes and could not move, but had help on the way. He had the proper markings for traffic control.
– The township road department foreman reported at noon Tuesday that a live wire was across the road on Van Buren Avenue. An officer arrived along with the township fire department, which was unable to determine if it was a live wire at the time. Ohio Edison was contacted and couldn’t give an estimated time of arrival due to being in storm mode. The fire department remained on scene for traffic control until Ohio Edison arrived.
– A wire was reported down across the road in the 1000 block of Jones Drive at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday. An officer arrived and found the wires were telephone and cable wires. Due to the weather conditions and the plow trucks needing to get through the area, the officer cut the two wires and cleared the road. The companies had already been contacted about the issue and a resident said they had a cell phone in case of emergency.
– Wires were reported at 8:31 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Florida Avenue. The wires turned out to be phone lines in a driveway.
SALEM
– An officer saw a pickup parked in a no parking zone at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday on South Broadway Avenue at Aetna Street. The driver was contacted and moved the vehicle to the other side of the street.
– An officer responded to Continental Drive at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday and spoke to a male having some issues due to a recent doctor appointment cancellation due to weather. He was concerned because he would need his regular medication along with other issues.
– An intoxicated person was reported walking in the road in the 900 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 11:03 p.m. Tuesday, but wasn’t found.
– A parking complaint was reported at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Sixth Street. An officer found an alley/private drive blocked by two vehicles. The owner was contacted and told to park in the space for his apartment rather than block the alley and neighbor’s driveway.
– A man was reported sleeping in his vehicle on the side of the building at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., at 8:57 p.m. Tuesday. The man told police he was waiting for a friend. An officer found he had a suspended driver’s license and was told to get someone to drive his vehicle from the lot. A relative responded for him.
– Keith Howes, 27, of McCracken Road, was cited for operating a cab without a cab license after a traffic stop at 8:11 p.m. Tuesday on East State Street. An officer initiated the stop for a vehicle operating without headlights and discovered the driver was operating an ASAP Cab without a city of Salem cab license and had already been given a warning for the violation. This time he was given a warning for the headlights violation, but cited for the cab license violation.
– A resident in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard reported a burglary at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday, saying she left her door open and someone entered her house and stole prescriptions. She was told to lock her door after leaving.
– An illegally parked vehicle was reported at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West Fourth Street. The owner couldn’t be located and a parking ticket was issued.
– A possible tax scam was reported at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday by a woman in the 800 block of North Howard Avenue who said a caller claimed to be from the IRS. Caller ID showed the phone number coming from Kent, Washington. She was told not to call the number or reveal personal information.
– A resident in the 100 block of West Fifth Street reported at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday that she received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. The caller was very stern and harsh and said it was an official fraud notice from the IRS to inform of legal action of tax fraud, telling her if she failed to call the phone number provided, it could result in her arrest. The resident was aware it was some sort of scam and didn’t provide any personal information or call the number back. Police called the number back and a recording claimed it was the Department of the Treasury and nobody was available to take the call.
– Police responded to the area of South Howard Avenue and West Wilson Street for a call at 4:26 p.m. Tuesday about a possible irate male who the caller said was throwing his arms in the air and carrying on. Officers didn’t locate anyone fitting the description.
– City police assisted Perry Township Police with a warrant in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday.
– No citation was issued after a driver apparently suffered a medical issue while waiting in line to pay his utility bill at the water department off South Broadway Avenue and struck two parked vehicles in the parking area at 2:53 p.m. Tuesday. Francis Engle, 68, of Salem, was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG Ambulance after Salem firefighters initiated treatment and CPR. The accident occurred just steps from the firehouse. The report said the vehicle had accelerated rapidly and veered to the right and struck vehicles owned by James Mueller and Mary Mallory, both of Salem.
– A parking complaint was reported at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday on Ohio Avenue. An officer checked Ohio Avenue, Pershing Street and Woodland Avenue, but found no cars.
– An anonymous caller at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday reported more than one car parked illegally on East Fifth Street near Vine Avenue, but police found no cars parked there.
– Police were called at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday for an abandoned vehicle on Bentley Drive. An officer ran the registration and advised an employee of the property of the owner’s name, who turned out to be a resident. Nothing further was needed.
LISBON
– Zach Lewton, West High Street, reported Monday being victimized by a scam while trying to purchase a vehicle on Craigslist.
– Ralph Merriman, Campground Road, Wellsville, was at the Valley View convenience store to purchase gas at 2:50 p.m. Feb. 10 and left his card with the clerk. When he returned after pumping gas his card was gone.
– Police were asked to check on the owner of the Motorcycle Dream Shop at 12:31 p.m. Friday, but no one was there.
– A barking dog complaint was received at 415 E. Washington St. residence at 3:31 p.m. Sunday. Police spoke with the owner, who brought his dog inside.

– Deborah Jessop, Beechwood Drive, reported at 1:27 a.m. Tuesday she could hear what sounded like water in her bathroom. Police checked the home but could not find anything and told her to contact a plumber in the morning to check beneath the home.
– A man reported at 4:58 a.m. Tuesday a vehicle on North Pearl Street was blocking West Salem Street. Police assisted with pushing the vehicle out from the area.
– A man reported at 5:52 a.m. Tuesday he was stuck on a hill on state Route 14 east of state Route 7. Police directed traffic until the Ohio Department of Transportation was able to plow and salt the road.
– A man reported at 7 a.m. Tuesday a vehicle was partially on the road near 119 Stonehaven Drive. Police assisted with pulling the vehicle out.
– Cindy Lintz, West Southern Avenue, reported at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday her mailbox was hit with a plow truck.
– A Columbiana-Waterford Road man reported at 8:16 a.m. Tuesday a power line was sparking in his driveway.
– A woman reported at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday tree branches were smoking on power lines near the Newton’s Gas Station.
– Police contacted the owners of 10 vehicles that were found to be in violation of the parking ban along South Main Street on Monday.
– A vehicle was towed from South Main Street at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday by AAA after having been parked overnight, in violation of the city’s parking ban enacted due to the weather. Police were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle.
– Wayne Ulrey reported at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday there was assault at his work at the Columbiana Buick Oldsmobile dealership. Police found no assault occurred and no charges were filed.
POLICE REPORTS
SALEM
– Police were called at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday to Summit Street for a downed line in the street. The fire department responded and the line was determined to be telephone/cable line and was removed.
– A resident in the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue called at 10:04 p.m. Monday to report a possible water line break. An officer saw a moderate amount of water coming from beneath the street surface along the east side of the street and saw cracks forming in the street surface. The majority of the water was flowing into a drainage ditch but some was beginning to flow into the northbound lane of the street. The water department was notified.
– Police at 9:13 p.m. Monday did a well-being check on a resident in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and found her to be okay.
– Police at 8:58 p.m. Monday were called to the 1700 block of Fairview Court for a well-being check on a resident. Officers spoke with the person and family members and the female voluntarily agreed to be transported by ambulance to the hospital.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 8:41 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of East Fifth Street. Police determined that no domestic incident occurred.
– A man in the 900 block of East Third Street reported telecommunications harassment at 8:26 p.m. Monday, saying an unknown caller had made several calls to him throughout the day. He wanted a report on file.
– A barking dog was reported at 6:51 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of West School Street. An officer responded and saw no excessive barking. The owner said the dog was hungry and he was going to feed it.
– An anonymous person contacted police at 6:14 p.m. Monday to report a cell phone either lost or stolen. The phone was an old flip-style phone.
– Police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington at 6:11 p.m. Monday for an alleged domestic in progress involving a knife. Police spoke with the people involved and both said they had a verbal dispute that turned physical. Neither person had any physical injuries and both were told their options. Officers located a kitchen knife the male had reportedly taken upstairs. He was told the consequences of his actions before he left with a family member.
– Tyler Saunier, 21, of North Beaver Street, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance after his westbound vehicle on East State Street struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Wayne Morrow, 44, of Walnut Street, Leetonia, just east of Rose Avenue Monday.
– An alarm was reported at 2:40 p.m. Monday on East Sixth Street. The homeowner said the alarm was for a malfunctioning smoke alarm and nothing more was needed.
– A woman on Newgarden Avenue reported phone harassment at 2:12 p.m. Monday, saying she was receiving numerous unwanted text messages. An officer made contact with the other party and told them to stop.
– A woman on East Third Street reported at 11:40 a.m. Monday that she came home after being out of town and found all of her property on the curb covered with snow. She was late by nine days with her rent and had called the landlord and he kept hanging up on her. An officer later spoke to the landlord who said he was told she had abandoned the residence. The officer said it’s a civil matter.
PERRY TWP.
-A concerned neighbor called police at 8:50 p.m. Monday to report an open door on an abandoned house on Overlook Drive. Police checked the residence and discovered the door open due to neglect. No other suspicious activity in or around the house was noted.
– Police responded to a private property accident at 3:20 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue. Christopher Shepard, 45, of Salem, pulled into a driveway to turn around and went off the driveway and got stuck in the yard. Police spoke with the homeowner who had attempted to help Shepard remove the vehicle, who was waiting for a tow truck. The vehicle had no damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
– Police spoke with a resident on Manor Drive at 1:25 p.m. Monday regarding possible fraud or theft of funds. All information was obtained and police will issue a warrant for theft after speaking with the prosecutor’s office.
– A resident on West Pine Lake Road came to the station at 10:35 a.m. Monday to report harassing phone calls and text messages from family members who are in a domestic dispute with other family members. He was told to have the numbers blocked through the cell phone carrier.
– Stephen Hall Jr., 19, of Salem, was cited for assured clear distance after his eastbound vehicle struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Peter Stannard, 40, of Salem, at 7:49 a.m. Monday in the 1800 block of West State Street. The report said Hall’s view was obstructed from the freezing rain built up on the windshield. He complained of a knee injury but declined medical treatment at the scene.
COLUMBIANA
– Deborah Jessop, Beechwood Drive, requested at 1:50 p.m. Monday police check to make sure no one was underneath her trailer.
– A Duquesne Street resident reported at 1:59 p.m. Monday there was a silver or gray car parked facing the wrong way on Duquesne Street all day.
– A woman reported at 6:27 p.m. Monday she was told by her children that a couple of kids jumped the fence at Firestone Pool and were sliding down the sliding board. Police checked but did not see any kids or any footprints indicating anyone had been there.
– John Ervin, Pueblo Lane, reported at 7:57 p.m. Monday he was getting unwanted calls from someone he knows.
– Between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. police told the owners of cars parked on Cherokee Lane, East Woodland and South Middle and Union streets to move their vehicles due to the weather parking ban.
LISBON
– Anthony Witherow was cited for failure to control after he was found to have driven his pickup truck into a ditch on Saltwell Road at 6:37 a.m. Feb. 11.
SALEM TWP.
– Susan Gudat, Yates Road, reported that sometime overnight Sunday someone stole a cast iron kettle and stand from her yard. The landscape decoration was filled with dirt.

SALEM
– A barking dog was reported at 8:12 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Adams. Police located the dog in question and tried to contact the owner. Dispatch was able to contact the owner by phone and advise them of the situation. They said they would take care of it.
– Brittany Bingham, 24, of Waterford Road, New Waterford, was cited for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 6:40 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue. The driver was given a verbal warning for the traffic offense, then contraband was observed in plain view. The contraband was recovered and the driver cited for the drug offense.
– A person babysitting in the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Sunday reported hearing what sounded like a person walking around in another room. Officers arrived, along with the babysitter’s aunt, and made contact. The door was secure when officers arrived and the apartment was checked with nothing appearing out of order. There was no indication of any trespassers.
– A security alarm was reported at 5:55 p.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of Kennedy Drive where the exterior of the residence was found secure. Snow around the rear of the residence had not been disturbed.
– An employee of Family Dollar, 239 W. State St., reported at 11:36 a.m. Sunday that a female concealed three items totaling $20.38 and left without paying, then left in a vehicle. The shoplifting is under investigation.
PERRY TWP.
– An anonymous caller at 8:08 p.m. Friday reported an odor of marijuana in the 1100 block of West Perry Street. Police detected the odor of marijuana but couldn’t determine where it was coming from.
– Glen Ferry Jr., 55, of Campground Road, Wellsville, was cited for reasonable control and license forfeiture suspension after police responded to the state Route 45 interchange at state Route 14 for a report of a disabled vehicle at 12:12 p.m. Friday. It was found that Ferry had allegedly driven his pickup off the right side of the road, causing moderate damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
– Township police provided assistance at 8:28 a.m. Friday after a passerby reported a possible accident with injuries in the 1900 block of state Route 9. The accident was located and police found the vehicle had traveled off the right side of the road into a ditch before striking a telephone pole and mailbox and coming to rest in a front yard. The male driver advised of no injuries and the juvenile female advised of injuries to her right arm and leg but refused medical treatment. The accident was handled by the Ohio State Highway Patrol since the accident was out of the township’s jurisdiction.

– A caller reported a riding mower was parked in the middle of North Beaver Street at 7:18 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was gone by the time police arrived.
– Police responded to a 911 hang-up call from a Pritchard Avenue residence at 1:25 p.m. Sunday. Police arrived and spoke with Heather Desset, who said her son was playing with his iPad and he must of have accidentally called 911.
COLUMBIANA
– The highway patrol requested assistance from Columbiana firefighters with a traffic crash on Lower Elkton Road north of Kelly Park Road at 9 a.m. Sunday as it appeared the vehicle was going to catch fire.
– Police assisted with traffic control after a wheel fell off a truck in the middle of Pittsburgh Street at 12:20 p.m. Sunday.

– Police responded to a traffic accident on state Route 14 near Lisbon Road at 7:07 p.m. Feb. 10.
– At 6:50 p.m. Feb. 11, police responded to a traffic accident in the 500 block of Boston Street.

Salem reports
– Police responded to the 500 block of E. 3rd Street at 1:22 a.m. Sunday for a report of an unruly juvenile. The complainant advised that her 15-year-old son was out of control and destroying the residence. An officer spoke to the juvenile who was upset because his mother would not buy a phone card for his cell phone. After a few minutes he calmed down.
– Police responded to the 900 block of S. Ellsworth Avenue at 6:08 a.m. Sunday after receiving information from Perry Township police about a dog tied up at the business. Officers located it and gave the owners the option for handling the situation.
– At 10:20 p.m. Saturday, a member of the fire department came on station with recovered property. Police contacted the owner who said they will pick it up.
– At 8:23 p.m. Saturday, a complainant was on station advising he was traveling northbound in the 200-300 block of S. Lincoln Avenue when an unknown object broke the rear passenger window of the vehicle. Police checked the area and couldn’t determine what struck the window and advised the complainant of the options.
– Police on patrol in the 200 block of W. State Street at 8:07 p.m. Saturday located a vehicle with the engine running and the doors unlocked at the business. An officer took possession of the keys and secured the vehicle. An employee was contacted and the keys were placed in the lost and found drawer at the station.
– At 7:50 p.m. Saturday, police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of W. State Street after observing several traffic violations. James W. Seacrist, 1703 Hearthside Drive, was cited for OVI when police found he was intoxicated. He was also cited for marked lanes and released to a sober ride.
– At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street for a well-being check. There was no answer at the door.
– At 11:40 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the area of S. Union Avenue and Oak Street for a report of a truck with two flat tires that had not moved in some time. The owner was advised to move it within 24 hours and said they would take care of it.
– At 2:33 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of W. State Street where there was a motor vehicle lockout with a child inside. Entry was gained after a damage waiver was signed.

-Police were called to the McDonald’s restaurant for a man needing help at 8:19 p.m. Saturday and determined EMTs were needed.
-A caller reported a vehicle was parked the wrong direction on South Main Street near Duquesne Street at 9:20 p.m. Saturday. The car was found to be parked in the correct direction and before the “do not park” sign.

-A resident of the Twin Oaks trailer park called at 3:33 a.m. Saturday for help with his wife, who had fallen again. The Leetonia Fire Department responded because Lisbon firefighters were stilled tied up at the fire that destroyed the Center Township building. The fire department was called back for the same thing at 6:55 a.m.

-?At 7:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of E. Euclid Street for an animal neglect/cruelty complaint and located the animal with a box but no insulation. The owner was advised to bring it in and get the proper insulation.
-?At 6:28 p.m. Friday, police responded to a two vehicle accident at the S. Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Avenue intersection where the vehicle operated by Denise C. Speigle, 543 E. Perry Street, was southbound on S. Lincoln Avenue with a green light through the intersection. She was struck by the vehicle operated by Jamie L. Wood, 311 Newgarden Ave., that was westbound on Franklin Avenue that failed to stop for the red light. After being struck Speigle’s vehicle continue on S. Lincoln Avenue striking a utility pole. Speigle, Wood and a passenger in Wood’s vehicle, William R. Davis, 37457 state Route 558, Leetonia, were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries and both vehicles were towed away. Wood was cited for failure to yield.
-?Police responded to a three-vehicle accident at 3:46 p.m. Thursday at W. State Street and Jennings Avenue where the vehicle operated by Ronald A. Wood, 30416 U.S. 30, Hanoverton, was eastbound on W. State Street and failed to stop for traffic striking the rear of the vehicle operated by Jason M. Fowler, Atwater, Ohio, causing it to strike the rear of the vehicle operated by Melissa D. Cranmer, 31121 U.S. 62, Salem. Wood was cited for failure to stop in the assured clear distance/accident and Fowler was cited for no operator’s license.
-?Police responded to a parking lot in the 1900 block of E. State Street at 8:02 a.m. Saturday where the complainant had gotten off work and found the left tail light was damaged while parked there. Photos were taken and security video will be viewed.
-?At 10:46 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1000 block of E. State Street where a man had walked into an office saying he was short of breath but refused assistance. He was known to police and was located holding his chest and breathing very heavily. He advised he needed a ride to the hospital, complaining his chest and ribs were hurting. He was dropped off at the hospital.
-?Police responded to the 700 block of E. 4th Street at 12:38 p.m. Friday for a dog at large and it was determined it was from the 400 block of Vine Avenue. It got loose and attacked another dog at the complainant’s residence. A female was also bitten with an injury to her hand and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Information was gathered and the owner, Tesa M. Beery, 438 Vine Ave., was cited for dog at large.

– At 11:43 a.m. Friday, Shana Johnson, Pueblo Lane, called to report an All Star Driving student backing into her mailbox. Johnson contacted the school. The school said they’d take care of it.
– Employees of Barefoot Tanning called to report a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at 7:11 p.m. When an officer arrived, employees said the vehicle had left.
– 8:19 p.m. Friday, Zachary Crum, was cited on Route 14 for driving under suspension.
– 12:06 p.m. Friday, Regina Conley rear-ended a vehicle driven by Susan Evans, who was stopped for the light on North Main at Seventh Street. Conley was charged with assured clear distance ahead.

– A dispute was reported at 5:18 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of East State Street where a caller said two males were arguing loudly in an upstairs apartment. An officer made contact with the males, who said they were only having an argument but they had calmed down.
– Police were called at 4:44 p.m. Thursday for a well-being check on an elderly female in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue. Officers made contact with her and told her to contact her son because he was concerned about her well-being.
– Police at 3:12 p.m. Thursday were trying to track down a 911 hangup call in the 700 block of Granite Avenue where a female was heard calling for help. Persons at the phone number on caller ID would not answer when Salem dispatch called. An officer responded where the address should have been and there was only a field and some woods, no residence. A nearby home on Arch Street was checked, but nobody answered the door and no one was heard inside when an officer knocked.

– Steve Bryan, North West Street, reported Thursday someone opened several credit cards in his name.
– An R & L truck lost its trailer on state Route 14 near ME Supply at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, and police provided traffic control until the trailer was reconnected.
– Police contacted residents at 221 E. Friend St., 79 Pueblo Lane, 322 Oak Court, 37 S. Cross St., and 322 Orchard Court about their basketball hoops being to close to the roadway and interfering with city snow plows.
LISBON
– Janice Exline, West High Street, called at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday to report her granddaughter and boyfriend were fighting. Police spoke with Ashlee Price, who said William Conrad choked her before leaving. There were no visible marks on her neck. Price declined to press charges but police still intended to contact Conrad.
– Donna Minor, living at the Kendall House, reported Wednesday receiving harassing text messages and she believes she knows who is responsible.

– Police on patrol at 10:29 a.m. Thursday located several vehicles parked illegally on Plymouth Place in the 500 block. An officer spoke with a female at the residence and explained to her that the vehicles had to be moved.
– Officers responded to the area of Somerset at 9:24 a.m. Thursday for a juvenile female who ran off after arguing with her foster parent. She was located walking behind the old Denny’s restaurant lot off of Pidgeon Road. The foster parent responded and took charge of the female.
– Township police assisted with traffic control after the Ohio State Highway Patrol requested help with an injury accident on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 7:02 a.m. Thursday.
– No citation was issued and no injuries were reported at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday after an eastbound vehicle driven by Christopher Connelly, 25, of Canton, on West State Street near Michigan Boulevard, swerved to miss a vehicle that was stuck on the icy road, ran off the road and struck a telephone pole. Connelly’s vehicle was towed from the scene after sustaining moderate damage. There was minor damage to the pole.
– A resident in the 1800 block of state Route 344 reported at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday that she was advised by her credit card company of fraudulent uses on her account. A monitor was put on the account and on her credit report. Police also told her to inform her bank in case her social security number was compromised.
– A resident in the 1100 block of Cunningham Road came to the police station at 5:28 p.m. Wednesday regarding a civil issue involving family members. He was told to speak with an attorney regarding his rights.

– Police responded to the 2700 block of East State Street for a person causing some problems at a business at 10:40 a.m. Thursday. When an officer arrived, the man was calm and left with some prescriptions he needed.
– A dog was reported at large at 7:55 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West Pershing Street, but wasn’t found.
– Police were called at 7:14 a.m. Thursday to the 700 block of East Fourth Street for a parking complaint. A resident said someone unknown blocked his driveway with their vehicle. Prior to officer arrival, dispatch reported the vehicle was moved and an officer was no longer needed.
– No citation was issued and no injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday. Mason Filaccio, 18, of Carole Drive, and Willem Smith, 25, of Beaver Falls, Pa., were both northbound when Filaccio’s vehicle started to slide upon braking and struck the back of the Smith vehicle, with minor damage caused to both vehicles.
– Police responded to assist first responders at a residence in the 800 block of East Third Street for an alleged drug overdose at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday. The fire department and EMT Ambulance were on scene and it was allegedly determined the male overdosed on a narcotic. Police remained at the scene with medical personnel for safety. The male was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.
– Police were called Wednesday evening to the 1500 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a medical problem, with first responders and KLG on the scene. A person was transported by KLG to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– An officer at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday received a call concerning a fall and head injury on South Union Avenue. First responders checked the woman and advised she should be checked at the emergency room. She was transported for treatment.
– A woman from Woodland Avenue came to the police station at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday to report a juvenile refusing to wear her seat belt. An officer spoke to the juvenile about the issue.
– A resident in the 300 block of West Wilson Street reported accidental damage at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, saying a transit vehicle comes through the alley every day and continually knocks down her brick wall around her driveway.
– A woman in the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue reported at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday that someone went into her garage and punctured two of her tires. She believed it may have been her neighbor because she’s always hanging out around her garage.
– A woman in the 900 block of East Third Street reported at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday that she and her ex-boyfriend got into an argument and he poured a drink on her head then slapped her in the face. She wanted to pursue charges. She was told the prosecutor would need to review the incident and decide if any charges will be filed.
– Georgette Kramp, 49, of Fair Avenue, was cited for assured clear distance after her westbound vehicle struck the back of a westbound Republic Services garbage truck driven by Jason Long, 37, of Youngstown, who was stopped on East State Street for a red light at Union Avenue at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

– A woman reported at 5:57 a.m. Wednesday a car was on fire on state Route 11 near state Route 344.
– A woman reported at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday a handwritten note was on the Family Dollar store saying “closed due to technical difficulties” but there were people inside the store. Police spoke with an employee who said they were having issues with the cash registers so they made the sign and closed the store until they were working again.
– Onstar reported at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday they received an activation from a 2007 black Envoy located in the Village Plaza and owned by Julie Penick of Salem. Police contacted Penick who said she activated the service by mistake and there were no problems.
LISBON
-While on patrol at 3:29 a.m. Wednesday an officer saw a man identified as Davis S. Hause on South Lincoln Avenue. He was in possession of a 16-ounce can of beer and had a strong odor of alcohol about him. While the office was conducting a field sobriety test, Hause admitted he had a small baggie of marijuana and a pipe on him. Hause, 57, West Maple Street, was charged with public intoxication, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
-An officer assisted a county sheriff’s deputy responding to a report of a man lying on Brookfield Avenue near state Route 45 at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. They found Floyd Gilmore in the roadway and he was drunk. The deputy gave Gilmore a ride home.

– Justin S. Sinley, 20, 18487 Courtney Road, Beloit, was cited for driving under suspension and a headlight violation following a traffic stop at Western Reserve and Washingtonville roads at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

– A woman from Morgan Court reported at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday that her wallet was either misplaced or stolen. She last had the wallet Friday night at a local business in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and has not found it since. She’s cancelling her credit cards.
– Police responded at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of West Fifth Street for a person to be removed. Officers were met outside by a female on the front porch and a male placing a suitcase into his vehicle. The female was irate and wanted him out of the residence. Both parties gave conflicting stories about what happened, but she reported no violence. The male said he lived there since November, but was voluntarily leaving due to her behavior. Both provided statements about what they claimed occurred.
– A residential alarm was reported at 4:49 a.m. Wednesday on West 16th Street. Officers found the exterior secure, but were unable to contact the homeowner.
– Loud music was reported at 3:19 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Cedar Street. Officers told the resident to turn down the music and keep the noise level down.
– A shoplifter was reported at 11:52 p.m. Tuesday inside Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., but when officers arrived, the suspect had already left and couldn’t be found. An employee said the suspect has stolen from the business several times before. The employee was told not to let the suspect back into the store and to call police right away if the suspect shows up so officers can make contact and have the person criminally trespassed from the store, or banned from the store.
– A resident in the 400 block of East Eighth Street reported at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday that someone stole numerous collectible items from a detached storage structure. The structure was damaged to make entry.
– A man in the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue reported at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday that persons began harassing him via Facebook on Tuesday. He said the suspects were trying to taunt him into meeting them at various locales they named and obviously had prior knowledge of the area. The profile from the page where the messages are originating appears to be fake with no picture and was created earlier in the day. Officers told him to block the profile.
– A possible drug overdose was reported at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Summit Street. Officers arrived along with fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance and made contact with the female who was supposed to be overdosing. She was alert and said she had not taken anything and was only trying to get attention. She was voluntarily transported to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
– A parking ticket was issued to an illegally parked car near the mailboxes on Cedar Ridge at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday. A no parking sign was beside the mailboxes.

– The Firestone Park manager reported at 11 a.m. Tuesday someone dumped four old TVs in the park.
LEETONIA
– Jeannie M. Kridler, 29, 95, High St., Leetonia, was cited for driving under suspension and expired license following a traffic stop on Washington Street at 2:28 p.m. Jan. 19.
– Eric P. Leyman, 27, New Middletown, was cited for speed following a traffic stop at State and Madison streets at 11:41 p.m. Jan. 28.
– An officer responded to the high school parking lot at 9:05 a.m. Jan. 29 where a woman said that she had locked her small grandchild in her car. Upon arrival the officer found that the woman had talked the child through unlocking the doors and was holding the child in her arms. The officer helped calm the woman enough to drive home.
– Police responded to a 200 block Main Street home at 3:35 p.m. Feb. 5 where the resident reported her husband’s vehicle had been struck by a brick sometime the previous day.
– Robert James Reed, 41, Las Cruces, N.M., was arrested on an active warrant out of Franklin County following a traffic stop on state Route 344 at Lisbon-Canfield Road at 4:24 p.m. Saturday in which he was a passenger. The driver also had an active warrant out of Leetsdale, Pa., but that department did not request he be arrested.
LISBON
– William Curtis reported he was almost assaulted while visiting Ashley Price at a West High Street home at 10:56 p.m. Monday. Curtis said Price’s friend, whose name he does not know, began chasing him.
– A clerk at Smith Oil reported a motorist drove off without paying for $13 in gas at 8:16 a.m. Monday. Using the license plate number, police contacted the driver, Terri Welker, who said she used her debit card to pay for the transaction but did not receive a receipt. She was advised to contract the bank to determine if the transaction went through. Welker said if it didn’t, she would return to Smith Oil to pay them.
– KLG Ambulance asked for an officer to stand by while it transported a resident from Apple Grove apartments at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.
– Mary Ann Gray reported Tuesday Mike Skidmore put trash bags behind the Motorcycle Dream Shop, and the bags had been torn apart by dogs and the garbage strewn about. Police were unable to reach Skidmore, but Carol Armstrong called to say someone else put the trash bags there but she would clean it up.

– Tyler Zuniga reported at 12:23 p.m. Monday someone hit his car while it was parked at Burger King.
– A South Middle Street man reported at 4:32 p.m. Monday his brother and mother had been fighting since he returned home at 3:10 p.m. and his brother was getting more upset. Police went to the home and found no crime had been committed and they were only having a verbal argument.
– The sheriff’s office reported at 12:17 a.m. Monday they received a report of cows in the 500 block of Fairfield School Road. Police checked the area but the cows appeared to have moved on.

– A man in the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 12:22 p.m. Tuesday that he found two black bags sitting outside his residence. An officer was unable to find any identification with the bags so they were placed in the police lost and found.
– A suspicious item was reported at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday in Hogan’s Alley along with several bags. Police found that someone dumped a junk built-in dishwasher and some fast food bags. The person who called police said he would advise the property owner.
– Teairra Coleman, 18, of West State Street, was cited for failure to yield after her eastbound vehicle on West Fifth Street stopped and attempted to travel across North Ellsworth Avenue and struck the side of a northbound vehicle driven by Patrick Lee, 45, of Warren, at 7:48 a.m. Tuesday.
– An officer responded to the 900 block of East Pershing Street for a call at 9:45 p.m. Monday regarding a missing/runaway juvenile. The officer located the juvenile via phone and advised her to return home. The parents were advised of their options with juvenile court if problems persist.
– An alarm drop was reported on Pearce Circle at 8:53 p.m. Monday. All doors were checked and found secure.
– Possible drug abuse was reported at 7:48 p.m. Monday on Continental Drive. A woman said a neighbor may be smoking marijuana in the apartment. An officer made contact with the male at the residence and did not observe the odor of marijuana. The man said the smell may have come from the cigarette he was smoking in the bathroom.
– Melissa Mills, of Warren, reported at 7:50 p.m. Monday that her purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Wendy’s parking lot on East State Street.
– A female reported at 7:01 p.m. Monday that harassment occurred in the 900 block of East Pershing Street.
– A caller at 6:05 p.m. Monday reported a malfunctioning traffic signal at North Lincoln Avenue and East State Street, saying it wasn’t cycling through properly. An officer observed the signal and saw no issues.
– A woman in the 700 block of Fourth Street reported a suspicious vehicle at 5:42 p.m. Monday, saying the unknown vehicle parked in her driveway for an extended period of time. The vehicle couldn’t be found. She was told to call police if the vehicle returns.
– A fight was reported at 5:19 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Newgarden Avenue. The caller said one person involved left in a red truck. Police were unable to find the vehicle or the other person involved.
– A woman in the 600 block of West Wilson Street reported at 4:44 p.m. Monday that a Salem city school bus allegedly went around the West Wilson Street railroad tracks while the crossing gates were down. An officer was following up on the complaint.
– A warning was placed on an illegally parked vehicle reported at 4:32 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of West Sixth Street. An attempt will be made to contact the owner.
– A 17-year-old male was cited for failure to control after a head-on collision last week when he allegedly fell asleep while southbound on South Union Avenue near Oak Street at 11:28 p.m. Feb. 3, veered across the center lane and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by Paul McCoy of South Union Avenue. The vehicle he was driving continued over the curb and onto the curb lawn, narrowly missing the passenger side of a truck parked behind the McCoy vehicle. The male as taken by ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center for his injuries.

– Police responded to a domestic violence incident at 3:40 a.m. Feb. 1 in the 500 block of West Main Street.
– At 8:56 a.m. Feb. 3, police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint at the Greenway Trail parking lot.
– At 2 p.m. Feb. 6 police responded to a forgery incident in the 900 block of West Main Street.

– A Tic Toc employee reported at 8:41 p.m. Sunday there was a man in a blue Cavalier in the parking lot passed out holding a beer can.
– Brian Beight reported at 9:19 p.m. Sunday he hit a deer near the high school and believed the deer would need to be euthanized. Police checked but the deer got up and ran away.

– An officer responded to the group home on Sharon Lynn Drive at 3:24 p.m. Feb. 2 to assist with a 15-year-old female who was trying to swallow objects.
– An officer responded to an 11000 block Lisbon Road home at 6:29 p.m. Feb. 2 in reference to a verbal dispute between two individuals which was reported by a third person, but was unable to make contact at the home.
– An officer responded to the 18000 block of Fifth Street, Beloit, at 4:15 p.m. Feb. 4 where a woman turned over assorted pills she found in a parking lot.
– Carl Gooding, 34, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension and slow speed following a traffic on state Route 45 near state Route 165 at 7:09 p.m. Feb. 4.
– An officer responded to a home in the Colonial Villa trailer park at 4:15 p.m. Friday in reference to a 2-month-old baby not breathing. Green Township and Damascus fire departments also responded and the baby was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
– Residents in the 13000 block of Calla Road, 14000 block of Western Reserve Road, and 13000 block of Diagonal Road reported mailbox damage Friday and Saturday. A resident in the 9000 block of Western Reserve Road also reported mailbox damage Sunday morning.
– An officer observed a large pit bull and a smaller dog running at large in the Beloit Park on Fifth Street at 3:20 p.m. Saturday. The dogs ran to a Main Street residence and proceeded to chase other dogs that had been fenced up. The officer located the dogs’ owner and gave a verbal warning for animals running at large.
– Seth Garrett Good, 19, Aliquippa, Pa., was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and two headlights required following a traffic stop on state Route 165 near Seacrist Road at 11:05 p.m. Sunday in which he provided the officer with the items after the officer smelled the marijuana in the vehicle. The officer also disposed of an unopened can of beer from under the front passenger seat.
SALEM
– Police responded to a parking complaint at 10:51 a.m. Monday on West Sixth Street where a Jeep was parked on the south side curb area in the 400 block. No signs were located in that section to deny parking.
– A car left running with the lights on and a door open was found behind a business on Elm Avenue at 8:57 a.m. Monday. Police were unable to find a driver or owner of the vehicle. A relative responded and took control of the car a short time later.
– A loose dog was reported at 7:34 a.m. Monday near Salem High School on East Sixth Street. Police found a large brown dog running around the front of the school property. An officer was familiar with the dog belonging to a residence in the 400 block of East Sixth Street. Another report at 2:26 a.m. concerned the same dog running around on East Third Street. A juvenile from the dog’s home was contacted by school officials and was able to obtain the dog. Information on the owner was obtained and the owner will be cited.
– Jason Black, 22, of Kensington, was cited for temporary permit violation after police were called at 3:04 a.m. Monday to the 700 block of West State Street for a report of an intoxicated driver leaving a business in a white Lincoln SUV. An officer saw the vehicle heading east on West State Street pull into another business in the same area. Contact was made with the driver and there was a slight odor of alcohol but the driver was found to be under the legal limit. The driver had a temporary driving permit and the female passenger was a licensed driver but was highly intoxicated which is a violation of having a temporary permit for the driver. The citation was issued and the vehicle was left locked at the business. The driver and passenger obtained a cab ride.
– Four suspicious persons were reported walking with flashlights on East Pershing Street near Centennial Park at 2:47 a.m. Monday. Police made contact with the three males and one female on Pershing near Washington Avenue. They were walking from a residence on Park Avenue to Circle K on East State Street and had their cell phones out. No problem was found with any of them.
– An alarm activation was reported at 12:08 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of Prospect Street. All outer perimeter doors were checked and appeared secure.
– An audible alarm from a business in the 400 block of Arch Street was reported at 11:26 p.m. Sunday. The exterior of the building was secure. A keyholder responded and the interior was also checked.
– Police were called at 9:52 p.m. Sunday to the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a person falling off the roof. Police located the person and found that he does not work there. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance responded and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. The incident is under investigation.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:36 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of East State Street parked for a long time. Police found the vehicle. The driver was sleeping.
– An East State Street woman reported at 4:16 p.m. Sunday that when she was at the laundromat in the 100 block of North Howard Avenue, someone unknown took her wallet without her permission.
– Criminal damage was reported to a motor vehicle at 3:58 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue.
– Recovered property found in the 1500 block of Fairview was turned over to police at 3:51 p.m. Sunday and placed in the lost and found.
– A neighbor dispute was reported at 2:49 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Aetna Street where a woman said the neighbor threw trash into her yard. Officers spoke to the neighbor who said they’ll correct the problem.
– A Jefferson Avenue resident reported at 1:42 p.m. Sunday that two of the vehicles in the driveway were entered and loose change taken. The vehicles were unsecured.
– A man came to the police station at 12:04 p.m. Sunday regarding a neighbor dispute in the 1300 block of East Sixth Street where he said there’s an ongoing dispute over noise in the apartment building. He was told to bring it to the attention of the property owner.
– A resident in the 1900 block of Fairview Avenue reported at 10:39 a.m. Sunday that someone entered her vehicle and stole her wallet, which contained her driver’s license, her son’s social security card and $5 worth of loose change.
– A suspicious man was reported at 8:46 a.m. Sunday at Sparkle Market, 423 S. Lundy Ave., where the man appeared OK, but was advised the business did not want him returning.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street for a noise complaint at 12:35 a.m. Monday. A group of people talking was told to keep the noise down.
– David Price of the 1700 block of state Route 344 reported at 3:18 p.m. Sunday that unknown people entered unlocked vehicles in their driveway overnight. One vehicle was ransacked with nothing missing, but the other vehicle was missing a GPS unit and $10 cash.
– Police responded to the 400 block of North Indiana Avenue for a reported 911 hangup call at 2:23 p.m. Sunday. A man said his young son got his cell phone when he wasn’t looking. He took the phone off of him before police arrived.
– Jane Menough, of the 1700 block of state Route 344, reported at 12:35 p.m. Sunday that sometime overnight someone stole a 2-foot-tall copper pot from the front yard.
– A woman on North Lincoln Avenue reported at 12:33 p.m. Sunday that a man from a competing company contacted her on her personal cell phone about a work-related issue and now won’t stop calling. An officer contacted the other person who said he only called one time, but won’t have further contact.
– Trici Jackson, of the 1600 block of state Route 344, reported at 8:38 a.m. Sunday that someone entered her unlocked vehicle overnight and ransacked it. Nothing appeared to be missing.
– An open door was reported at a residence in the 1100 block of Beechwood Road at 11:48 a.m. Saturday. Police found the man door leading to the residence was also open. The interior was checked with nobody found inside. Everything appeared normal and police were able to secure the residence.
– Cameron Croxton, 24, of Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield after attempting to exit the driveway at Fresh Mark in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue and colliding with a southbound vehicle driven by Emily Cosma, 20, of Salem, at 10:10 p.m. Friday. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
– Community Hospice called police with a narcotics complaint at 3:04 p.m. Friday after an inventory at a patient’s residence on North Egypt Road revealed a shortage in medication prescribed by a physician. The information was documented for Community Hospice.
LISBON
– A clerk at the Days Inn reported someone was sleeping in a car in the parking lot at 9:26 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived to find a woman alert and sitting upright in her vehicle. She said she was on her way home from work when she pulled over to take a quick nap before continuing on her way.
– A Mrs. Carpenter reported a semi-trailer driver had just driven through a yard at the corner of South Green Street and West Lincoln Way and damaged a traffic sign at 1:32 p.m. Friday. Police caught up with the truck driver, Jose A. Delimafiho, 58, of Danbury, Conn., who said he did not know he had driven off a state route, nor did he realize that he had also caused some damage. He was cited for driving off state routes and driving with an expired CDL.
– Justin Duffy, West Lincoln Way, reported at 1 p.m. Friday an ATV was blocking the alley leading to the rear door of his tattoo shop. Police attempted to the contact the persons who lived in the apartment but no one was home.
– A caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle in the Cedar Avenue park at 4:52 p.m. Saturday. Police found some parents playing with their children at the park, along with some youths playing basketball.
– A caller reported via the highway patrol that a reckless driver was entering the village on East Lincoln Way at 12:19 p.m. Sunday. Police waited in the middle of the town when the caller pulled up to the cruiser to tell the officer the motorist had pulled into the Circle K before heading up North Market Street. The officer looked in vain but never caught up with the vehicle.
– Police responded to a report of a man who fell on the sidewalk on North Market Street at 5:14 p.m. Sunday. Police were met on arrival by a woman, who said she had fallen but did not need any assistance.
– Police responded to a disturbance on East Washington Street at 5:19 p.m. Sunday, and the officer met with Dirk Deckart who stated he and Sherry Heddy had been arguing. They both said nothing physical occurred, so police told them they need to quit arguing in such a loud manner.
– Jerry Holben, Pendleton Street, reported his girlfriend, Heather Marcum, broke the window out of the front door while they were arguing at 1:12 a.m. Sunday. Marcum left before police arrived, but police spoke with her later and she said she had walked out the door but forgot her phone. Meanwhile, Holben had locked the door behind Marcum and she accidentally broke the window while pounding on the door in an effort to retrieve her phone. Marcum declined medical treatment and said she was spending the night with friends.
– EMTs with a local ambulance company called at 7:14 p.m. Thursday to say they were at the apartment of Kenneth Haines, North Market Street, who was extremely intoxicated but refusing to be transported to a local hospital. Police were called back 20 minutes later in regard to another disturbance, and this time Haines was ordered to go with the ambulance crew.
– Police were called to a disturbance at Shenanigan’s Pub at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, with one of the owners reporting customer Dakota McCluskey had been removed from the premises three times and now was in somebody’s yard across the street. Police spoke with McCluskey, who made arrangements to spend the night with some friends.
– Police were called to a disturbance at Shenanigan’s Pub at 11 p.m. Friday and spoke with an employee, who said someone named Jeff was being loud outside but had since moved on.
– Police were called the Christina House in regard to a problem between a resident and a worker at 7:10 p.m. Saturday. Police remained while the director spoke with the resident and the worker.
-Police were asked to provide backup for sheriff’s deputies responding to a dispute between customers of the Traveler’s Motel and the Frola Inn next door at 10 p.m. Saturday. The motels are located just south of town.

– Officers responded to a 600 block East 12th Street at 4 p.m. Saturday to perform a well being check on a woman whose son said she may be suffering from a medical emergency. The woman was found to be fine.
– Officers performed a welfare check of a man who walked away from his vehicle in the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:52 p.m. Saturday. The man was found to fine and left with a family member.
– Police responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 8:12 p.m. Saturday for a report of someone brandishing a gun, but were unable to find the vehicle described. The complainant said later that the man brandished the gun at him during a road rage incident.
-Officers responded to a 1200 block Southeast Boulevard home at 1:24 a.m. Sunday where a man reported his ex-girlfriend was at his residence harassing his new female friend. He said she kept attempting to enter the home and then appeared to be damaging both their vehicles. The woman was gone by the time officers arrived, but they found no damage to the vehicles.
– A patrolling officer noticed an SUV parked in the middle of the parking lot of a closed business in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 1:53 a.m. Sunday. The officer found no one inside and a note saying that it had broken down and would be removed in the morning.
– A patrolling officer was flagged down in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:53 a.m. Sunday and advised there were several individuals in the area who appeared to be vandalizing a vehicle. The officer found three people standing around a vehicle with debris on top. The vehicle was found to belong to the brother of one of the individuals, who said they were just waiting for a ride home. The individuals were told keep the noise down while they waited.
-Police responded to an Arch Street home at 4:21 a.m. Sunday in reference to a person to be removed and found an intoxicated woman lying in a bush in front of the home. The woman said she was upset and walked to the residence where her ex-boyfriend lives to get a ride home. The complainant said the woman had been knocking on the door and told to leave. The woman said she was locked out of her home, but could go to a place in the 900 block of Prospect Street, to where she was given a courtesy ride.
Columbiana
– Carey Bucci, West Salem Street, reported at 10:17 a.m. Saturday items keep being stolen from her apartment and that most recently laundry detergent was missing when she got out of the shower.
– Amanda Davis, South Elm Street, reported at 10:58 p.m. Saturday someone in a yellow pickup truck was circling around the area. Police checked but did not see the vehicle.

– A 2000 block Monroe Street resident reported at 1:42 p.m. Friday reported a neighbor in her apartment complex had slid a note under her door regarding an incident that happened a couple months ago.
– An officer responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 5:15 p.m. Friday for a report of a child left unattended in a vehicle. The vehicle was gone by the time the officer arrived.
– Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 9:59 p.m. Friday in reference to two people arguing. It was found to be a verbal altercation and the two people were warned to keep the arguing at a minimum in public.
– Troy G. Hightland, 30, 651 Prospect St., Salem, was arrested at his home on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for child support at 10:17 p.m. Friday.
– Amanda Lynn Guiterrez, 34, 938 Arch St., Salem, was arrested at her home on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for assault at 10:27 p.m. Friday.
– Police responded to a 1000 block Cleveland Street at 8:10 a.m. Saturday where the resident reported her juvenile daughter was being unruly. The daughter agreed to go to her sister’s house to avoid further problems.
– A Liberty Street resident reported receiving a bad check at 9:21 a.m. Saturday.
– An officer responded to a South Ellsworth Avenue bank at 12:45 p.m. Saturday where an employee reported a man had attempted to cash a check without an account, then damaged bank property when denied.
– An officer responded to a 300 block Ohio Avenue home at 2:44 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported someone overnight had used a blunt object to damage to windshield frame of her vehicle, causing its auto theft device to activate and preventing it from starting.

-Patricia Frank, Dogwood Circle, New Waterford, was driving through the Rite Aid parking lot when her vehicle was struck by a car being driven by Rebecca Mitchell, Cameron Road, Wellsville, who was backing out of a parking spot at 12:20 p.m. Friday.
-A South Range school bus was parked in the lot of Das Dutch Haus when it was struck by a vehicle being driven by Mary Jo Maluso, Abbey Road, Canfield, at 12:10 p.m. Friday. Maluso was trying to make a southbound turn. Damage was caused to the right rear of the school bus.
-A suspicious vehicle driven by a male was seen parked in Manor’s parking lot for three days last week for several hours per day. When officers approached the vehicle at 10:31 p.m. Friday, the driver explained that his wife is a home health care aide and he waits in the lot until she’s done working.
-Clint Geho, Salineville called at 10:44 p.m. Friday to report that his ex didn’t return his belongings. He was advised to pursue the return of the rest of his property in small claims court.
-Police were called to a domestic dispute on Fairfield Avenue after an argument between a father and son occurred at 10:46 p.m. Friday. The man’s son left on foot.

– An anonymous caller at 9:13 a.m. Friday complained about a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on the east side of Vine Avenue in the 300 block facing north. Police made contact with workers at the Salem Community Pantry who made contact with the owner and the vehicle was moved.
– Police were called to Salem Regional Medical Center, 1995 E. State St., at 8:24 a.m. Friday for a report of a person with a gun. Officers arrived on the scene and assisted Goshen Township Police. The report of a person with a gun was an active conceal carry weapon permit holder who was not found in violation of anything.
– City police assisted Perry Township Police with a traffic stop at 10:14 p.m. Thursday on North Ellsworth Avenue at Seventh Street.
– A fight was reported at 8:42 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of East Third Street. Officers were told one person fled the scene. A man said the two of them had gotten into an argument over the other person’s drug use and the person pushed him along with the person’s girlfriend. No injuries were reported, with the man requesting documentation.
– Police were called at 7:59 p.m. Thursday to North Lincoln Avenue for a pedestrian and his dog struck by a vehicle. Officers located the victim and his dog walking in front of the KSU City Center. He said they were walking south on the sidewalk along North Lincoln Avenue when a black Buick traveling east on Fifth Street struck him and his dog, knocking them off the driver side door to the ground. The driver, who appeared distracted, fled the scene. Fire department first responders and KLG responded. The victim declined any treatment. The vehicle was not found.
– A possible intoxicated driver was reported at 7:43 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The vehicle was located and the driver wasn’t intoxicated but had been distracted by his phone. He was told the consequences of using a phone while driving.
– A resident in the 500 block of Continental Drive reported at 6:18 p.m. Thursday that a male was making rude comments about her over a social media app. She was told her options.
– A caller at 4:20 p.m. Thursday reported an intoxicated person was going to operate a vehicle in the 2900 block of East State Street. Officers found the vehicle unoccupied and spoke with the person who was going to drive and told her the consequences of driving while intoxicated. She said she was going to find a ride.
– A man on Ohio Avenue reported at 3:46 p.m. Thursday that unknown persons had taken over his Facebook account and changed it, now sending his girlfriend and others misinformation, along with harassing them. He couldn’t even get into the account because they locked him out. He got in touch with Facebook and they helped him out. He wanted charges filed. The account tracked to an Internet Protocol address in Louisville, Kentucky. The matter will be sent to the proper agency for followup.
– Loud music was reported at 3:06 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of East Third Street. The homeowner said he would turn it down.
– Councilman Clyde Brown called police at 1:26 p.m. Thursday with a parking complaint regarding a pickup and utility truck parked blocking the sidewalk in front of a residence that burned last year on Franklin. The vehicles belonged to the company taking the home down and hauling it away. They were told about the complaint and said they would move the vehicles into the drive.
– An anonymous caller at 11:35 a.m. Thursday reported an abandoned vehicle on East School Street. A warning tag was left on the vehicle and a couple hours later, the owner returned and moved the vehicle.
– Thillainathan Savundararasa, 59, of Dorval, Quebec, Canada, was cited for failure to control and off of state route after an accident at the corner of East Second Street and North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday. The report said a tractor trailer was off the state route and attempted to make a right turn from East Second onto North Ellsworth and struck a city-owned light pole, causing minor paint damage.
– A shoplifter was reported at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at Family Dollar, 239 W. State St., where officers arrived and witnessed a female placing merchandise on her person, but not passing all points of purchase without paying. Officers waited outside and the woman was confronted inside by store employees. She had placed everything back and was given a notice for no trespass.
– Henry Fink, 54, of East Euclid Street, reported at 7:03 a.m. Tuesday that he was driving north on South Lincoln Avenue when a southbound vehicle attempted to turn left onto Franklin and hit the driver side of his vehicle. The other driver, who was in a white SUV, took off on Franklin.

– A woman from Hoopes Road reported at 8:50 a.m. Friday that she believes her prescription bottle was taken from her purse while at the home of a patient on West State Street. The information will be sent to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.
– Dustin J. Martin, 29, of Youngstown, was charged with felony receiving stolen property and driving under suspension after an officer on patrol at 10:18 p.m. Thursday ran the registration on the vehicle Martin was driving and learned it was reported stolen out of Youngstown. Martin was taken into custody after a traffic stop in the 2100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and confirmation of the stolen vehicle by Youngstown Police. The vehicle was towed and held for release to the registered owner. Martin was taken to the Columbiana County jail.
– Police responded to the area of Depot Road and Stewart Road after receiving multiple calls at 2:43 p.m. Thursday regarding a road obstruction described as some type of box in the middle of the road. Police checked the road, but the item had already been removed.
– Olga Courtney, 24, of U.S. Route 62, Damascus, was cited for expired registration and driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 12:25 p.m. Thursday on Springdale Street near North Ellsworth Avenue. The vehicle was towed from the scene and she and her passenger were waiting for a ride.
COLUMBIANA
– A Barefoot Beach Tanning employee reported at 5:15 p.m. Thursday they received another inappropriate phone call.
– A Firestone Avenue woman reported at 11:39 p.m. Thursday she believed someone was outside her home because her dog was acting strange. Police checked the property but found no one.
LISBON
-James M. McVay, 32, Traveler’s Motel, and Brandi L. Cope, 22, same motel, were both arrested for shoplifting items from the Smith Oil station on Jan. 31. Cope reportedly stole a pack of Sour Patch Candy, while McVay allegedly stole two bags of candy.
-Jodi Degerman, who lives in Wisconsin, reported Monday she shipped a diamond ring to a village residence. After hearing her story, the officer told her to contact her local police department since the crime occurred in their jurisdiction.
-Dave Wellman reported there was a possible domestic dispute in the alley behind the Night Court at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday. Police arrived to find Candy Kibler and a man. Kibler was so intoxicated she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after being charged with public intoxication.
-The apartment of Gary Kosch, West Lincoln Way, was found Wednesday with the door open and glass in the door broken. Kosch was not home, but police checked the apartment, and nothing appeared to be missing.
– Amy Muschweck, Applegrove Apartments, reported Thursday receiving harassing calls the night before. While on their way to her apartment, Muschweck called police to say Terry Mullins and his mother banging on her door. Police arrived and learned the dispute was over a cellphone, which was resolved when Muschweck returned the cellphone to Mullins. The parties were advised to have no further contact with each other.

– Lutetia R. Maffitt went to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office in reference to threats that were made towards her and her family.
– Police responded to 11937 Steubenville Pike Road and spoke with Danyail Hayko about her boyfriend. She advised that he walked away from a residence at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 and had not returned. Hayko advised that she was worried he may hurt himself. Police asked her if he said anything about harming himself, and she said that he did not. Police advised her that the area would be patrolled, and if she heard from him, to let the office know. Later that evening, police were advised that he returned.

– While checking Barclay Machine, 650 S. Broadway Ave., at 3:01 a.m. Thursday, an officer saw two vehicles parked at the rear of the building. The people sitting in the vehicles were identified and said they were just talking. They were advised of better locations, in lighted parking lots, not at the rear of a closed business. They left the area.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday on Orchard Bend Drive. Officers arrived and there was no problem. A vehicle was legally parked along the curb and the person was visiting a nearby residence. The caller was informed of the findings.
– A Slater Road resident reported at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday that she was advised by another employee that her Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was struck in the rear driver’s side bumper in the Walmart parking lot by a white vehicle which left the scene.
– A large fight was reported at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday on Hawley Avenue near Cleveland Street. All police units responded and found the fight was over. It was determined the incident began at Salem High School and continued to that area. A female student was allegedly bullying another student and wanting to fight her after school. A relative of the victim being bullied stood up for her relative and a verbal confrontation led to a fight between two or more students. The incident is under investigation for possible multiple criminal charges. The juvenile division will be advised.

– A woman on Manor Drive called at 1:30 a.m. Thursday to report hearing noises downstairs and thought the house was being burglarized. Upon arrival, it was found a relative awoke and was searching for the cause of half the residence being without electric.
– A suspicious male wearing a dark top and blue jeans was reported walking through yards at 9:44 p.m. Wednesday in the Lake Avenue area. Officers didn’t locate the person.
– Township police were requested at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday by Stark County Sheriff’s Office to assist them in trying to locate a male wanted on child support charges out of Stark County. A female at the apartment on Prospect Street said the male moved out and was living somewhere in Akron.
– Police responded to a domestic complaint reported at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of Allen Road where there was an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Both parties said they pushed each other but everything was OK.
– Police along with fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street for a reported medical alarm at 9:15 p.m. Monday. Police assisted medical crews with loading the patient into the ambulance.
– A domestic dispute between mother and son was reported at 5:50 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of West Perry Street. Police found the dispute was all verbal over family issues and no physical violence or threats of violence occurred. The male half left to stay at a friend’s residence for the rest of the evening.
– An officer spoke to a Goshen Road resident at 1:40 p.m. Monday about her neighbor’s dog which has been observed chasing deer in the woods. She was afraid the dog may attack her or her dog when they walk in the woods.

– Officers assisted local fire departments on a medical call for a logging accident in the 13000 block of Calla Road Jan. 25.
– An officer responded to the 18000 block of Derr Avenue Jan. 25 in reference to a suicidal juvenile.
– Officers responded to a 10000 block Pine Lake Road home Jan. 26 for a possible domestic dispute. The home was the site of a previous dispute in which felony charges were filed, but the dispute was found to be verbal on this occasion.
– While assisting the Damascus Fire Department on a medical call in the 12000 block of Duck Creek Road Jan. 26, officers received a report of possible negligence by the son of the elderly individual. The report was referred to Adult Protective Services.
– Officers responded to a Redwood Drive home Jan. 28 where the resident reported someone had taken his bottle of Vicodin with 120 pills.
– An officer assisted the Damascus Fire Department at a car fire in the 16000 block of state Route 165 Jan. 30.
– An officer assisted Washingtonville police with a domestic dispute in the 500 block of Main Street, Washingtonville, Jan. 31. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival, and the officer assisted in the search for the suspect.
LISBON
– Police were called to the Columbiana County Mental Health Center at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday because Jay Farrow was causing problems and refusing to leave. En route to the scene the MHC called back to say Farrow had left, but police continued on their way to make sure he was gone.
– Melissa Reynolds-Anderson, 40, state Route 45, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after she struck a vehicle driven by Marc Len, 40, of Poland, at the intersection of North Beaver and West Pine streets at 5:38 a.m. Tuesday.
COLUMBIANA
– Police received several calls at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday of the electric being out on Union and South West Streets and Southern Terrace and West Park Avenue.
– A Richards Avenue man reported at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday someone broke into his garage during the night.
– Christa Clark, East Park Avenue, reported at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday she discovered a state tax lien from Georgia on her credit report.
– Tim Walker reported at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday he wished to have a welfare check done on his 8-month-old son after he heard that the child was left alone in an apartment at Columbiana Manor. Police checked on the child and found he was not alone and was with his mother.
– A South Main Street woman reported at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday she saw someone in the garage of a vacant house next to hers but wasn’t sure if they were allowed to be there or not. Police checked but found no one.
– A woman reported at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday a woman in a car at the Duke and Duchess parking lot was having some sort of medical condition or was possibly impaired. Police checked on the woman and found she was not impaired. At 9:24 p.m. a gas station employee requested the woman be removed from the store as she believed the woman was drunk. EMS were called to check on the woman.

SALEM
– At 3:38 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the area of East Pershing Street and Ohio Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance but found nothing matching the description given nor any female with a vehicle following her.
– Police responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday where two brothers disagreed over the way their parents estate was being handled. There was no physical violence and both understood it was a civil matter and were advised to contact an attorney.
– The Salem street department requested police at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday to respond to North Broadway Avenue and East Second Street to document a missing drain cover as being the responsibility of the property owner. While photographing the drain it appeared as if grease had been recently poured into it. All local businesses were contacted and denied pouring grease into the drain.
– At 1:36 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Mullins Street and the railroad crossing where debris was in the road. It was removed and the street department was advised.
– At 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1900 block of East State Street and the surgical center parking lot off East Pershing Street where one vehicle backed out of a space and struck another vehicle owned by Don Bloor of Kensington. The vehicle went on and struck another parked vehicle owned by Paul Farwell Jr., 12422 Beaver Creek Road, Salem, pushing it sideways in the parking space. The operator of the vehicle got and checked his vehicle’s left front and then got back in and left heading westbound on East Pershing Street. The vehicle was operated by an elderly man wearing suspenders and hunched over somewhat.
– A complainant was at the police station Wednesday afternoon reporting being assaulted at the junior high school. Information was obtained and the complainant was advised to contact the principal. Police spoke to the principal who said the matter will be looked into.
– At 3:33 p.m. Tuesday police responded to the 300 block of West 10th Street where the road was obstructed. A yard was dug up leading to the street and after rain and traffic the hole expanded and sunk several inches. Columbia Gas was called to fill in the hole.
– At 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of Woodland Avenue where the resident reported that sometime Tuesday a person trespassed in the complainant’s residence and stole a wallet. There was no forced entry and police checked the nearby area and alleys and could not locate the wallet.
– At 6:22 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 2200 block of East Pershing Street where a debit card was found at an ATM. The card was placed in the found property room at the police department.
At 6:11 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue for an unruly juvenile and spoke to the parent and the juvenile and the problem was resolved.
– Police responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday where the complainant broke up with her boyfriend and his car was still on her property. Due to being on private property an officer was not allowed to have it towed and she was advised of the options.
– Police responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday and Linda L. Bowling, 313 W. Fifth St., was charged with theft after an investigation led to a suspect and recovered stolen merchandise. She was taken to the county jail.
– At 4:56 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue and spoke to a complainant about identity theft. Another agency identified a subject using the complainant’s information in an attempt to open an account. The incident is under investigation.
LISBON
– A caller named Brandon reported there was a running vehicle on North Jefferson Street at 10:05 p.m. Monday. Police checked and determined the motorist was dropping off someone at an apartment.

– Park Manager Terry Shaffer reported at 9 a.m. Tuesday there was graffiti in the park and cemetery.
– A South Elm Street man reported at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday a neighbor’s dogs were barking outside again and no one was home.
– Jon Hoffman, Duquesne Street, reported credit card fraud at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
– Joseph Radman Jr., 22, North Main Street, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Main Street at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
– Sarah Blower reported at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday there was a vehicle in a ditch on Heck Road east of state Route 7. The highway patrol handled the accident.

SALEM
– Police responded at 3:23 a.m. Monday to the Broadway Plaza, 200 block of East Second Street, for an open door at the rear of the building. The business was checked and nothing appeared to be missing or out of place. The door was secured.
– A security alarm was reported at 2:34 a.m. Monday in the 2900 block of East State Street, but the business was secure.
– Police were called at 12:25 a.m. Monday to the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue for a report of a loud party with underage drinking. Officers heard no noise from outside the home and saw no evidence of a party. They made contact with a male who was over 21 who said he had a few drinks, but the only people in the house were his brother and grandmother.
– A loud exhaust was reported at 10:28 p.m. Sunday with a person outside revving up his engine at Jennings Avenue and West Fourth Street. A man said he was jumping another car and had to rev the engine. He was told to keep the noise level down.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:26 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Orchard Bend Drive. The vehicle was found legally parked, but due to the nature of the complaint, a red tag was placed on it.
– An officer at 7:39 p.m. Sunday responded to the 900 block of East Third Street to serve a civil protection order for the Pennsylvania State Police.
– A woman at 6:25 p.m. Sunday reported her ex-boyfriend was attempting to break a window in her vehicle in the 2200 block of East State Street. Both parties said they got into an argument over relationship issues. She didn’t want to file charges. He made a statement about wanting to harm himself and voluntarily was taken by ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
– Beth Hays, 24, of Prospect Street, was cited for failure to yield after pulling from a stop sign on Sharp Avenue and attempting to turn westbound onto State Street, colliding with an eastbound vehicle driven by Kathy Harroff, 63, of Egypt Road. A passenger in Hays’ vehicle, Anthony Helman, 26, of Prospect Street, claimed injury, but all parties refused medical treatment. The accident occurred at 5:33 p.m. Sunday.
– A parking ticket was issued at 4:28 p.m. Sunday for a vehicle parked in front of a fire hydrant in the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue.
– A woman at 4:25 p.m. Sunday wanted to report a theft in the 600 block of West Perry Street. Due to the suspect being a resident with her for a prolonged period of time, the personal property matter was considered a civil case.
– Seth Grubaugh, 25, of Canton, was cited for assured clear distance at 12:23 p.m. Sunday after his eastbound vehicle struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Robert Sullivan, 83, of North Benton, who was stopped for traffic in the 800 block of East State Street.
PERRY TWP.
– A barking dog was reported at 4:56 a.m. Monday in the area of Main Street and Michigan, but wasn’t found.
– An officer on patrol at 4:45 p.m. Sunday located an unsecured door at the Church at the Center on South Lincoln Avenue. The interior of the building was checked and found in order. A keyholder was summoned to secure the door.
– Township police and the volunteer fire department responded at 3:39 a.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Benton Road for a vehicle engulfed in fire. The vehicle, a 2014 Toyota Camry owned by Frank R. Cook Jr. was destroyed. Perry Township was assisted by Salem Police with traffic control. The incident is under investigation.
– Township police and two Salem police units went to an apartment at Salem Acres on Prospect where it was reported at 3:21 a.m. Sunday that an assault took place. People present gave a different version of events than that of the victim at the emergency room who said he didn’t want to pursue charges. He was told to contact the department if he changed his mind.
– A caller at 11:14 p.m. Saturday reported two people dressed in all black in the area of Michigan Avenue and Garfield Avenue, but police couldn’t find anyone matching the description.
– Loren C. Webb, 37, of West Perry Street, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after pulling his vehicle from a stop sign at 10:23 p.m. Saturday on Goshen Road and striking a vehicle driven by John Phillips, 58, of Hanoverton, who was southbound on U.S. Route 62/state Route 45. Two juveniles from the Phillips vehicle were taken by another family member to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Sinsley Towing. KLG Ambulance and Perry Township fire department first responders both were on scene.
– An officer on patrol at 9:22 p.m. Saturday saw a vehicle pull into McKinney Furniture parking lot after business hours and go to the loading dock area. They began to exit the vehicle and were asked why they were there. One of them claimed they had permission to check the dumpster to see what was there. They were told to come back during business hours or get written permission from the store owner.
– Police received a complaint at 5:30 p.m. Saturday about vehicles parking on the road opposite the caller’s driveway, making it difficult for them to exit due to the width of the road. An officer spoke to the other resident, who was having a birthday party and offered to have the vehicles in question park in the drive. The vehicles were removed from the road. The report said parking is not permitted on the road outside of a municipality when the road has not had improvements made to accommodate vehicular parking, per Ohio Revised Code.
– A resident in the 800 block of Cunningham Road reported vandalism to a mailbox at 9:12 a.m. Saturday. He advised it happened sometime overnight. He was unsure who would have vandalized their mailbox but said his child plays basketball for Salem High School and they played a rival Friday night and their bus was egged by kids as it came back into the Salem city limits. A neighbor on Cunningham Road also reported vandalism to his mailbox overnight.
– Ashley Zins, 30, of Canton, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence after police were contacted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol about a caller following a vehicle driving erratically on U.S. Route 62 at 5:12 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was sitting through the green light at West State Street and the bypass. When the police arrived, the vehicle had sat through two green light cycles. The driver was allegedly sleeping/passed out and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected when an officer spoke with her.
– A resident in the 1100 block of Prospect Street, at Salem Acres, reported at 4:43 p.m. Friday that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and removed his wallet.
LISBON
– Nathaniel L. Beatty, 16, of East Palestine reported 10:36 p.m. Saturday being assaulted by Jason W. Barnes, 42, of Columbiana, at a North Market Street residence. The boy said he had borrowed a pair of shoes from Barnes, who became upset and began choking him because the shoes had not been returned soon enough to suit him. Beatty still had visible marks around the neck. Police went to the North Market Street residence, but Barnes’ girlfriend said he had left.
– Police were called to a home on North Market Street at 11:30 p.m. Thursday to stand by while a resident was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
– Lisa Odey, West Washington Street, reported at 8 p.m. Saturday a man showed up at her door, saying he was there to deliver a pizza. When Odey told him she did not order a pizza the man began screaming obscenities at her. Odey was told to stay inside for the night because she had been drinking, and police patrolled the area more for the rest of the night.
– Police responded to a home on East Lincoln Way at 12:25 p.m. Sunday in regard to a woman who overdosed on medication. The woman was found on the kitchen floor and told police she had taken 20 pills. An ambulance was summoned to transport her to a local hospital.
– Roy Bates, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, reported Sunday being harassed by Scott Rudder, who shouts profanities at him when he sees him around town. Bates was told to also file a report with the sheriff’s office in case Rudder showed up at his house.
– Police were called to the East of Ohio Chicago Pizza at 5:15 p.m. Sunday after a person later identified as Johnny A. Holenchick took pizza from the buffet without paying for it and then went into the restroom to eat it. Police caught up with the 69-year-old Holenchick, who was walking south on North Market Street. Holenchick told police he thought the pizza was free but would return with a dollar to pay them. Holenchick was told not to return to the restaurant, which did not want to press charges. The staff indicated this is the fourth incident of this sort with Holenchick.
– Randy Dean, West Washington Street, reported Friday he and his wife were receiving harassing text messages and phone calls from his cousin Jamie Wood and her husband Zack. Dean was told to apply for a protection order.
– Anastasia Blinn, West Lincoln Way, reportedly back into a vehicle driven by Christine Whipkey of Homeworth in the Circle K parking lot at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
-Richard W. Brown, 45, of Ashland, was cited for OVI, driving left of center, marijuana possession and possessing drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop initiated after he was seen leaving the Night Court parking lot at 11:39 p.m. Saturday. Police had been tipped off by sheriff’s deputies handling a domestic dispute that Brown had left the Traveler’s Motel just outside of town and was heading for the Night Court. A half empty bottle of Jagermeister was also found in his van.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– Mindy J. Wardell, 21, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 2:59 p.m. Jan. 28 in which she was northbound on U.S. Route 62 and failed to stop for traffic at state Route 165, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Maureen P. Dimargio, 59, Canfield. No injuries were reported.
– Lisa M. Guppone, 50, Hanoverton, was cited for right of way at intersections following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 4:12 p.m. Jan. 28 in which she was westbound on Western Reserve Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Lisbon Road, striking a northbound vehicle making a left turn onto U.S. Route 62 driven by Ellen L. Bowman, 63, Salem. No injuries were reported.
– Charles Leland Edmondson, 35, Bedford, was cited for driving under suspension and speeding following a traffic stop on state Route 165 near Diagonal Road at 11:05 a.m. Sunday.

SALEM REPORTS
– A wallet found in the Walmart parking lot was turned over to police at 2:48 p.m. Sunday and placed in the lost and found until the owner can be located.
– A dog was reported running loose at 2:13 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue. An officer arrived and the owner had already secured the dog. The owner was given a warning for dog at large.
– A domestic in progress was reported at 2:07 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West Fifth Street, with an officer finding a verbal dispute over personal issues. The woman involved said she was leaving for the night.
– Police responded to the 2100 block of Monroe Street for a report of a disturbed person at 1:43 a.m. Sunday. An upstairs tenant said a female tried to make entry into their apartment at the door and when they opened the door, she ran inside, made irrational statements and grabbed the television, trying to pull it off the wall. The woman made more comments and collapsed onto the floor. An ambulance and fire department first responders were called to the scene for a medical check and transport to Salem Regional Medical Center. An emergency admission form was completed by an officer.
– A purse was found in an area near the back of Salem Regional Medical Center, 1995 E. State St., and brought to the police station at 11:04 a.m. Sunday. There was no identification located inside the purse, so it was placed in lost and found.
– In the 2000 block of Monroe Street, two motor vehicle trespassing complaints were filed at 6:25 a.m. Sunday. The glove compartments in both unlocked vehicles were rummaged through, but nothing was taken.
– Police met with a man on station at 5:20 a.m. Sunday who said he had just been assaulted by his male roommate at his residence in the area of Railroad Street. He said he was asleep when he was awakened by his roommate beating on his door. He got up and went downstairs and found that his roommate made a mess of the house. As he started cleaning up, he said he was punched in the side of the head by his roommate and he hit back in self-defense. Officers responded to the residence and made contact with the roommate who said he was in an argument with the man who started punching him in the head. Both parties declined medical treatment. The matter will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
– An officer on patrol in the 700 block of West State Street at 3:17 a.m. Sunday saw a man standing in front of a business with no shirt on who appeared to be stumbling around. The man had blood on his face and body and said he was assaulted by several people while in an apartment complex on Prospect Street in Perry Township. He didn’t wish to report the incident but wanted medical attention. Fire department first responders and an ambulance responded. Perry Township Police also responded to speak with the man who was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center for his injuries. City officers assisted township police with followup at the location of the incident.
– Police were dispatched at 2:18 a.m. Sunday to a closed business in the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue for a suspicious male in all black clothing behind the building. A male was located on Railroad Street matching the description. He said he was just walking home from a business on South Broadway Avenue. He was in front of his residence and no problem was found.
– Police provided assistance at 11:09 p.m. Saturday to the Ohio Investigative Unit in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue.
– A caller reporting a suspicious vehicle at 9:38 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of East State Street said the vehicle had been driven recklessly in the parking lot and drive-thru of a local business. The vehicle wasn’t found.
– An anonymous caller at 9:30 p.m. Saturday reported a possible threat, saying he saw a social media post that appeared threatening toward a specific person. A male posted something that appeared to threaten a co-worker at a business in Sebring. Sebring Police was called and made contact with the male who said he was venting and had no ill intentions. The information will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
– An officer on another call on Cleveland Street at 8:38 p.m. Saturday was flagged down by a woman regarding an unruly juvenile. The juvenile commented about harming herself. The fire department first responders and KLG responded, with KLG transporting her to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– Juventino Anjanel Sica, 35, of Cleveland Street, was charged with no license after a traffic stop at 8:23 p.m. Saturday on Cleveland Street at Hawley Avenue.
– An Arch Street resident came to the station at 7:57 p.m. Saturday about losing her wallet. She last knew of it being in her possession in the 2800 block of East State Street and stopped to see if anyone turned it over, which no one had. She was also checking with the business.
– A man on East Pershing Street turned in a wallet at 5:44 p.m. Saturday found while walking in the area of the park. The owner was contacted to pick up the wallet at the station.
– A juvenile problem was reported at 4:49 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Fourth Street. An officer spoke with the juvenile and his mother who said there was an argument between the juvenile and his father over family issues. The juvenile and mother agreed the juvenile would go to a relative’s residence until both parties could get along.
– A caller at 3:41 p.m. Saturday reported a vehicle parked in the middle of the road in the 500 block of North Union Avenue. The vehicle was not located.
– Police were called at 3:04 p.m. Saturday to the 300 block of West State Street for two people involved in a physical altercation. No one was found and nobody at several nearby businesses saw any altercation. Adjacent streets and alleys were checked, but nobody was located.
– Alan Felger, 56, of East Liverpool, was cited for failure to yield and hit/skip after his northbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue allegedly ran through the red light and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Kathleen Willis, 54, of Salineville, on East Third Street who allegedly had the green light at the intersection at East third Street and North Lincoln Avenue at 1:33 p.m. Saturday. Fire department first responders checked the driver and two passengers in the Willis vehicle and all three refused medical transport. The officer located the license plate of the Felger vehicle.
– A woman in the 2700 block of East State Street reported phone harassment at 1:13 p.m. Saturday, saying someone from an out of state number keeps calling her and making vulgar sexual comments. An officer advised her to block the number.
– Mark McClintock, 41, of Beechwood Road, was cited for improper backing after backing out of his driveway into the passenger side of a vehicle driven by Stephen Fox, 24, of Beechwood Road, in the 1300 block, causing damage to both vehicles. The incident occurred at 1:11 p.m. Saturday.
– Carl Houdyshell, of Park Avenue, reported at 1:05 p.m. Saturday that his vehicle was parked in the lot at Tractor Supply in the 2300 block of East State Street when he noticed minor damage to the rear passenger side quarter panel.
– A woman in the 900 block of Arch Street reported at 12:29 p.m. Saturday that she received a suspicious call from a Mansfield phone number on her cell phone. The automated message when she answered the phone said it was from the Mansfield Correctional Institute and sounded like people laughing in the background. An officer attempted contact and it appeared to be a valid number for the Mansfield Correctional Institute. He suggested she block the number or call back if the problem persists.
– Police were asked to check the well-being of a resident in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 11:31 a.m. Saturday. The request came from a female health care provider who said no one was answering the door. The maintenance man was found and police were able to gain entry, finding nobody home.
– A parking violation was reported in the Giant Eagle parking lot on East State Street at 11:04 a.m. Saturday. The owner was located and moved the vehicle.
