Salem
— The school resource officer was advised by administrators that a parent was having issues with her child and wanted to speak with them. Officers spoke with the parent and advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 11:11 a.m. Friday for a report of telecommunications harassment. Officers spoke with the other party involved and they were advised to cease any communication with the man.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 10:52 a.m. Friday for a report of a person having a possible mental health crisis. The fire department and EMT responded to assess the man and he was transported to an appropriate medical center.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Sixth Street at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday for a reported motor vehicle lockout. A verbal waiver of damages was completed, and entry was gained without incident.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Washington Avenue at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible protection order violation. The caller advised that the person she has an order against walked past her house. Officers spoke with the man who advised to walking past the house but ultimately determined that they had not violated the protection order. Officers spoke with the caller and advised them that they would need to update the order.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of telephone harassment. The caller advised someone unknown to them had sent them text messages that were offensive.
— Brittney Lude, 35, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Haylee Sox, 19, Hanoverton in a parking lot in the 800 block of West State Street at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department about a possible scam at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday. The caller advised that they had received a message on their phone, which they believed was a scam. Officers looked at the message and were advised that it was a scam.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 7:56 a.m. Tuesday for a noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Jennings Avenue at 6:57 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a resident at the property, who advised that they were in the hospital.
— Officers located a vehicle in Centennial Park after hours at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the driver, who was on the phone and eating.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday that advised their juvenile sister was being harassed by an older juvenile. The caller was advised to block the juvenile on all social media and have her sister do the same. No direct threats were made.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:42 p.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers spoke with both parties, who were involved in a verbal dispute over stray cats. One person threatened another and they asked it be documented. All parties were advised to have no further contact.
— Officers spoke with an officer from Wheeling, West Virginia, at 6:35 p.m. Monday about an incident that occurred in the city. Information was gathered and the matter will be forwarded to a detective.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 6:19 p.m. Monday for a report of dirt bikes and ATVs in the roadway. Officers found that the people on the bikes were not in the roadway.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Salem Parkway at 5:50 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on two juveniles. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juveniles.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 3:23 p.m. Monday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 1:56 p.m. Monday for a report of an ATV riding in an alley way. Officers spoke with the person in question, who was on private property at the time, and advised them that they could not take in onto a roadway or any ally way. Officers did not observe anything illegal at that time.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 1:51 p.m. Monday for a report of fraud. They advised that there was a pending check to an unknown person for $14,000 on their account. They advised that their account had been frozen, and they needed a report on file for their bank.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 12:50 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers determined that matter was a verbal dispute with no physical violence reported by either party. Officers advised them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:15 p.m. Monday for a report of telephone harassment. The caller advised that they have been receiving unwanted calls from a person known to them. Officers advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation. Officers contacted the person in question by phone at advised them to cease all contact with the caller.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 9:33 a.m. Monday for a person to be removed. The caller advised that someone had come into their apartment uninvited, and they wanted them to leave. The person advised they had been given permission to enter and clean by the caller’s mother, who did not live at the apartment. Officers advised her that she would need the caller’s permission to enter the property, which he did not give. The person left.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Oak Street at 9:04 a.m. Monday for a report of illegal dumping. The caller advised that someone had dumped Quickcrete into a trash can and around the surrounding area. Officers advised the caller that they would check the park’s cameras and attempt to identify the person in question.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 8:04 a.m. Monday for a reported medical call. Officers stood by until medical personnel arrived and transported a man to the hospital.
Sheriff’s Office
— Goshen Township Police in Mahoning County called at 2:35 p.m. Saturday to request a Columbiana County deputy do a welfare check on one of their township residents who made statements of self harm and was at a residence on Heritage Drive, Knox Township. The deputy spoke with the person who was fine and was with family members. The person also called Goshen Township Police and they don’t want to have contact with the person.
— A deputy was dispatched at 1:46 p.m. Saturday to Bandy Road, Knox Township for a crash notification from a cell phone. The homeowner said everything was fine.
— A deputy was dispatched at 3:42 p.m. Saturday to the 4800 block of Bandy Road, Knox Township, for a company installing cable blocking the road. The deputy saw the cable company vehicle was not blocking the road.
