— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 3:08 a.m. Thursday for a reported burglary in progress. Officers spoke with the man in question on the front porch who advised he was recently staying at the residence and had property inside. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that the man had not been there in a few months but did locate the property in the basement and gave permission for the man to collect the property. No further assistance was needed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 1:24 a.m. Thursday for a reported dispute. Officers found that the matter was only a verbal argument between household members who were advised to stay away from each other for the night.

— Judy Schaffer, 59, Vernon, Florida, was cited for failure to obey traffic control devices after her southbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue entered the intersection while she attempted to grab a dropped phone and struck a vehicle driven eastbound on East State by Barbara Hughes, 76, Boardman at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the police department at 7:41 p.m. Thursday for a reported civil matter. The caller wanted it documented that her and her brother would be taking possession of his ex-girlfriend’s belongings and holding onto them until she was released from rehab. Both the girlfriend and brother had voluntarily moved out of the residence over 10 days ago, and the apartment will now be fully empty and cleared to rent.

— Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Second Street at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person going into the roadway and attempting to flag down vehicles for a ride. Officers located the person in a business parking lot and gave them a ride back to their residence.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Woodland Avenue at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday for a report of possible shots fired. The caller advised that they had caught what they believed to be the sound of two to three gunshots. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any signs of guns being fired.

— Officers on patrol located a juvenile whose guardian had reported they had not returned home from school at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday. The juvenile was transported to their residence.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 9:37 a.m. Wednesday who advised that an ex was posting inappropriate pictures of them on the internet including nude photos. Information was collected and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious object. The caller advised that they found photocopies of text messages lying in the store. Officers checked the messages, and nothing was found to be criminal.
