Clarification

In a story in Wednesday’s edition about the proposed 0.5% Leetonia income tax increase it should have been reported that Leetonia receives approximately 11% of the property tax collected from residents, with the remaining property tax collected going to the Leetonia Exempted Village School District and non-village levies. No property tax collected is received by the state, and the only property tax received by the county government directly is for debt retirement as required by law.

As part of the America250 plans in Columbiana, the art show and speech competition will be held July 2. An incorrect date was published in Thursday’s edition.

Municipal LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, an East Liverpool man charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a misdemeanor, was found incompetent and not restorable to competency, with the case against him dismissed. Correction

U.S. Rep. Michael Rulli, R-Salem, has had bills heard by House committees, including two that were passed by the House and sent to the Senate. It was incorrectly reported in Wednesday’s edition that none of Rulli’s bills had been heard by House committees. It meant to state that none of the bills mentioned in the article were heard by House committees.

Keller, 52, Summit Street, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury for receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, for driving a stolen vehicle in Salem on April 6 when officers conducted a traffic stop.
