West Branch rules Clipper Invite

COLUMBIANA — The West Branch Warriors turned the Clipper Invitational green. The West Branch girls were first and the boys second Saturday at the Ward Athletic Complex. West Branch was a runaway winner in the girls meet with 135 points. Canfield was second with 81 points and host Columbiana third with 69 points. The Warrior girls had four winners including Alli Kanagy in the 100-meter hurdles, Idonika Woods in the shot put, Tallie Muniz in the high jump and Kanagy, Kylah Stryffeler, Rachel Teague and Hailie Singer in the 1600 relay. Devils may reserve spot in EOAC

BERLIN CENTER — The Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference appears to be ready to add another member. The Western Reserve board of education will vote on Monday to accept the conference’s invitation to join, according to the board agenda. Messages left with the school district went unanswered. If approved, Western Reserve will restore the league to eight members after Leetonia announced it would leave for the Northeastern Athletic Conference at the end of the school year.
