Walmart evacuated after bomb threat

SALEM — A bomb threat forced the evacuation of a Salem business Friday. Salem Police Department detectives Craig Crider and Brad Davis said that Walmart received a threatening phone call claiming that there were multiple explosive devices inside the store at approximately 10:45 a.m. Friday. Davis said that after receiving the call Walmart immediately contacted emergency services and fully evacuated all employees and customers from the store, noting that the entire evacuation was completed in around six minutes. Crestview High School students share past year’s accomplishments with school board

COLUMBIANA — Crestview Local High School students have accomplished a lot over this school year, specifically in the area of preparing for life after graduation. High School students, led by student board representative Blasey Biser, gave a detailed presentation to the board of education in April. The presentation showed that 75 students in grades 8-12 took advantage of the College Credit Plus courses offered, totaling 1,567.25 credit hours earned and resulting in an estimated savings of $457,564 for Crestview families. Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague, who is running in the Republican primary for secretary of state, said he wants to eliminate drop boxes and limit those who can vote absentee. Arraignment rescheduled for driver in fatal West Twp. crash

LISBON — Arraignment is now rescheduled for 10:40 a.m. May 11 for Michael James Scheuring for a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide for a two-vehicle crash which cost a Tennessee woman her life last fall.
