Former health district employee pleads not guilty to tampering with records in East Liverpool

LISBON —Former East Liverpool City Health District food service inspector Alan Masters entered not guilty pleas Thursday to 23 counts of tampering with records, a third-degree felony charge. Masters, 64, West Eighth Street, Salem, was accompanied by his hired attorney, Bruce Williams, for arraignment before Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Washam. Salem police seeking info about alleged dog attack

SALEM — The Salem Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in its investigation into an alleged dog attack. According to a statement posted to its Facebook page Wednesday, two large “pit-bull-type dogs” broke through the front door of a residence located on East Sixth Street between Ellsworth Avenue and West School Street “between approximately 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.” and attacked a small dog belonging to a city resident. COLUMBIANA — Several events are being planned in the city to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Columbiana School District preparing for sporting facilities upgrades

COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana School District is preparing for upgrades to its sporting facilities. During a special board of education meeting on Tuesday the board approved a cement contract for the base of the stadium bleachers that are being installed at the end of May at the Ward Athletic Complex. The contract was awarded to HK Concrete, LLC. District Superintendent Don Mook said the base needs to be installed for a week before the installation of the bleachers. LISBON — A man who recently lost his complaint over the Penn-Ohio Landfill and his motion asking the judge to reconsider her decision is now filing an appeal with the Seventh District Court of Appeals. Dennis Scott Wallace, state Route 170, East Palestine, filed the appeal Tuesday to challenge the April 15 dismissal of his motion for reconsideration by Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton.
