Local anchor joins Farmers National
Chelsea Spears
CANFIELD — Farmers National Bank has welcomed Chelsea Spears to its marketing department as digital and communications strategist.
For nearly six years, Spears was the morning and noon anchor at WKBN 27 First News. In total, Spears spent a decade in the TV news industry. While in Youngstown, she was nominated for an Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast.
A Columbus native, Spears is an alumni of The Ohio State University. She has been living and working in the Mahoning Valley since 2017.
Spears has a passion for volunteering. Since moving to the area she’s volunteered for several local organizations: the American Heart Association, Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County, Project MKC, Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, Red Cross, Salvation Army and Angels for Easter Seals.
In 2022, Spears was nominated by the American Heart Association to be one of the first-ever local Women of Impact nominees. In that campaign, she raised almost $13,000 to fight the No. 1 killer of women: Heart disease. She won the “Inspiring the Community” award for her efforts in rallying viewers to lead heart-healthier lives.
