Man sentenced to 20 years federal prison for having improper images of children

YOUNGSTOWN (WKBN) — A Salem man who pleaded guilty in February to having improper images of children was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison. Scotty Skiba, 38, received the sentence from U.S. Judge John R. Adams in the U.S. Northern District Court of Ohio following guilty pleas to charges of receipt and distribution of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexual activity and possession of child sex abuse material. Salem man accused of sex crimes involving children found competent

LISBON — A Salem man charged with rape and multiple other sex-related acts involving two children over multiple years was declared competent to stand trial. Mark E. Knight, 58, North Ellsworth Avenue, appeared in a wheelchair in the custody of a deputy for the hearing Monday before Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton.
