County health district issues reminder of scrap tire collection

LISBON — The Columbiana County Health District is reminding residents the district will host a free scrap tire collection event from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 3 at the Columbiana County fairgrounds. The collection guidelines include a limit of 10 tires per person, tires must be off of the rim and only passenger car and light truck tires will be accepted. FirstEnergy tells Mahoning County Court it hasn’t paid bill in nearly 4 months

SEBRING (WKBN) — There were some power concerns Monday at the Mahoning County Court in Sebring. Judge Joe Schiavone reached out to WKBN and said FirstEnergy came to the court with a shutoff notice and handed it over to the staff. They said the Mahoning County Clerk of Courts hasn’t paid the power bill for months. FirstEnergy says the power will remain on inside the court, but they do need paid. “So that’s how we found out. Lisbon council zoning committee to discuss food truck fees

LISBON — The zoning committee of Lisbon Village Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today to discuss food truck fees, which council agreed recently to start having enforced in 2027. The new fees were part of the new zoning code approved last year, with Councilwoman Melissa Hiner questioning at a council meeting last month why no fees had been collected for food trucks this year. The fees for food trucks were set in the new zoning code as $100 per day or $250 for six months or $500 for the year.
