U.S. Route 30 closure for pavement rehabilitation

Starting Monday, U.S. Route 30 will close at the state Route 11/U.S. Route 30 interchange in West Point for 45 days. The closure includes the section of U.S. Route 30 from state Route 45 to the state Route 11 northbound on- and off-ramps. Additionally, the ramp from state Route 11 to U.S. Route 30 and the eastbound U.S. Route 30 ramp will close as part of this phase of the project. Ohio AG: Criminalize misuse of Flock cams

While calling Flock Safety automatic license plate reader cameras effective when used properly, Attorney General Andy Wilson said the state Legislature should criminalize their misuse. In a Wednesday statement, Wilson, a Republican, said: “Misuse of Flock is rare and breaches should result in serious consequences. Cow struck by vehicle in Columbiana County crash: OSHP

BUTLER TWP. (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to a crash where a cow was struck in the roadway Friday morning in Columbiana County. Troopers were called to state Route 9 near Mountz Road in Butler Township around 4:15 a.m. According to OSHP, two vehicles were involved in the crash. Troopers said one of the vehicles hit a cow in the roadway. Troopers did not disclose how the second vehicle was involved in the crash. Tow trucks removed both vehicles from the scene. OSHP said that the cow is now deceased. The roadway is now open.

Highway Patrol — A hit/skip was reported at 9:10 a.m. Sept. 17 in Fairfield Township when the side mirror on an eastbound vehicle driven by Derrin D. Weaver, 51, Winona Road, Salem, on state Route 558 was struck by the side mirror of a westbound truck which continued from the scene. Salineville man appeals consecutive sentences

LISBON — A Salineville man recently sentenced to 44 months in prison filed an appeal recently in the Seventh District Court of Appeals to challenge the consecutive sentences. Scott M. Haines, 52, state Route 164, who fled from deputies after threatening another man in the Spring Valley Road area in 2020, was sentenced to consecutive sentences of 36 months for fleeing and making threats and eight months for nonsupport of dependents from 2020 to 2022, for a total of 44 months in prison. Hunston Road to close for bridge replacement Beginning Tuesday Hunston Road in Unity Township will be closed to all traffic between Main Street and state Route 558/Bacon Avenue for 150 days for a bridge replacement.
