COLUMBIANA — Heartland Christian jumped out to a 6-0 lead after 50 seconds and the rout was on. The Lions ran past Crestview, 91-62, Tuesday in the championship game of Heartland’s fifth annual Hoopin’ into the New Year Tournament. The Lions won the tournament for the third straight year and fourth overall. They improved to 9-0 on the season and upped their scoring average to 76.6 points a game. EAST LIVERPOOL — Salem senior Paige Menough captured the 140-pound weight class Sunday at the Queen of the Hill Tournament at East Liverpool High School. Juniors Paige Cowan and Alanna McGonigal won individual titles in leading host East Liverpool to the team title. Cowan captured the 130-pound title after winning at 120 pounds last year, while McGonigal claimed the 170-pount title. The Potters topped the 25-team tournament with 163 points.
