Friends of the Banquet to sponsor Banquet in Salem The Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building, sponsored by Friends of the Banquet. The menu will include Johnny marzetti, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, and peaches. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Columbiana County Fair participating in state-wide food drive contest

ALLIANCE — This month, the Columbiana County Fair is joining a youth-led statewide effort to fight hunger and give back to local community food banks by participating in the Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer contest — presented by Farm Credit Mid-America and sponsored by Rural 1st. This friendly competition among Ohio county fairs encourages youth leaders to collaborate with their local community to collect food donations for local food banks throughout their county fair. County park board to hold special meeting to discuss administrative assistant position

LISBON — The Columbiana County Park District Board will hold an emergency meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at board offices, Maple Street, Lisbon to hire a new administrative assistant. According to an email from board Vice Chairman Eileen Dray-Bardon, administrative assistant Mark Guy resigned on Friday. Guy was hired by the previous board in February and just last week was reclassified as permanent part-time, which made him eligible for paid time off.
