County commissioners tout scrap tire drive at fairgrounds

LISBON — An Ohio Scrap Tire Collection Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 19 at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds. Free to residents, the scrap tire collection event is sponsored by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the CCH Solid Waste District. Columbiana County Commissioner Tim Ginter made the announcement during Wednesday’s commissioners’ meeting, noting that it’s a good opportunity for residents to get rid of unwanted tires the right way. Pennsylvania man charged for gold coin scam

LISBON — A Pennsylvania man charged for his involvement in an alleged scam involving gold coins had his cases in Columbiana County Municipal Court bound over to the county grand jury. Charges against Vashist Gadela, 30, Erie, Pa., include fourth-degree felony theft and misdemeanor possessing criminal tools.
