Jim Means of Salem was recognized for 25 years of service as the Ruritan Zone 4 Governor of the Ohio District. Five Ruritan clubs make up Zone 4, which includes the Great Divide, Guilford Lake, Lisbon, West Township and Winona clubs, along with the United Local Ruriteen student club at United Local. At the Zone 4 meeting March 23, Means credited all of the clubs for remaining strong throughout the pandemic, "…getting through the bad times while taking care of their members and continuing to serve their communities." Ohio District Governor Dave Wingett attended the meeting and expressed his appreciation for all of the work Means has done, noting that he has been an outstanding leader with true dedication and commitment. After 25 years, Means will remain active with the Ruritan and continues to lead the Guilford Lake club, but is stepping down as zone governor. Pat MacAleese of the Lisbon club has agreed to step up and fill the vacancy left by Means.
