Elections official expects 20% turnout

LISBON — Columbiana County Board of Elections Director Kim Fusco said she’s predicting a voter turnout of 20% for today’s election. Board members for the county Board of Elections met Monday to finalize plans for the primary election, allocating at least 29,200 printed ballots and allocating voting machines for all 73 precincts, with some polling locations serving more than one precinct. Jury trial set for Salem man accused of vehicular homicide

LISBON — A Salem man accused of causing the deaths of an elderly Salem couple in 2024 after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel is scheduled to face a jury trial Aug. 6. Kaylan Latrae Jones, 26, Georgetown Road, appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court for a pretrial Monday before Judge Tim McNicol. He was represented by defense attorney Charley Kidder, who was there on behalf of Jones’ defense attorney Zachary Miller.
